　　神農(nóng)架位于湖北省西部邊陲，東與湖北省�？悼h接壤，西與重慶市巫山縣毗領(lǐng),南依興山、巴東而瀕三峽,北倚房縣、竹山且近武當(dāng)。地跨東經(jīng)109°56′—110°58′,北緯31°15′—31°57′，總面積3253平方公里，轄4鎮(zhèn)4鄉(xiāng)和1個(gè)林業(yè)管理局(國(guó)家森林公園)、1個(gè)國(guó)家級(jí)自然保護(hù)區(qū)，總?cè)丝?萬(wàn)人。是我國(guó)唯一以“林區(qū)”命名的行政區(qū)。
