　　這里還有一個(gè)神話傳說故事 ：相傳很久很久以前，鲅魚圈是個(gè)小漁村，海岸不是像現(xiàn)在這樣的月牙形，而是近乎一條直線。傳說一位后生在打魚時(shí)，遇到了海風(fēng)，翻了船;起初，那顆避水珠含在嘴里，可后來一張嘴，避水珠就不知掉到哪里去了。后生乞求著鲅魚公主，公主非常喜歡后生的那只笛子，便說：“你就把那只笛子送給我吧。”

　　后生一口答應(yīng)：“行!我保證于八月十五那一天，拿著笛子在海邊上等你。”鲅魚公主將后生背出來，藏在自己的后花園;然后喊來眾姐妹，在渤海里為后生撒開人馬，找那顆失落的避水珠。八月十五這天，后生架著橫笛，一個(gè)曲子連著一個(gè)曲子地吹。再過一會(huì)兒，這只笛子就要送給鲅魚公主了，自己再也吹不著了，他有些戀戀不舍。后生正吹得起勁的時(shí)候，一位鄰舍的老漁夫，突然驚喜地喊道：“后生，你來看，開天辟地。”后生順著漁夫的手指往海里一看，可了不得了，滿海的鲅魚背，一個(gè)擠一個(gè)，黑糊糊，干壓壓，一個(gè)個(gè)正朝岸上張著圓嘴，大概是高興地隨著笛聲唱歌吧，因?yàn)轹阳~公主一會(huì)兒就要得到笛子了�？墒�，老漁夫勸著后生，道：“你把笛子給她們，她們不就遠(yuǎn)走高飛了嗎，后生，你千萬別給呀!”說完轉(zhuǎn)身遠(yuǎn)去了。時(shí)間 到了，鲅魚公主等后生前來交笛，可后生沒過來;時(shí)間過了，公主仍等后生前來交笛子，可后生仍然沒過來。公主一看，后生根本沒有交笛子的意思，回頭給眾姐妹一個(gè)信號(hào)，接著是一陣排山倒海般怪叫，齊聲咒罵后生言而無信。

　　后生揣著橫笛，轉(zhuǎn)身往家走。鲅魚們急了眼，只聽公主一聲令下，“咯吱，咯吱，咯吱”幾百萬條鲅魚一齊吞吃海岸，想追上后生，把后生吞掉。然而，盡管海岸被啃去了一大塊，成為月牙形的海灣，水邊上躺著一條挨一條的鲅魚，形成多半個(gè)圓圈。那個(gè)老漁夫走后駕起船，操鲅魚后路下了網(wǎng)，想從中發(fā)了個(gè)大財(cái)，沒想到魚多力量大，又在氣頭上，大家一使勁，把網(wǎng)給帶跑了，網(wǎng)把船拽翻了，老漁夫淹死了。鲅魚圈區(qū)地處暖溫帶，冬無嚴(yán)寒，夏無酷暑，氣候宜人。全市96公里長(zhǎng)的海岸線，浪緩灘平，水清沙凈，是天然的浴場(chǎng)和水上賽場(chǎng)，被譽(yù)為國(guó)內(nèi)外少有的“金沙灘”。

　　鲅魚圈有著名的景點(diǎn)熊岳樹木園，熊岳樹木園是我國(guó)植物園中建園最早、引種北方樹種最全、在國(guó)內(nèi)外具有影響的樹木標(biāo)本園，素有“亞洲袖珍標(biāo)本園之稱。園中奇花異樹，千姿百態(tài)，蔽空綠蔭下木香穰郁，令人有回歸自然之感。
