On the other hand, some people may find them addicted to television, especially the young people.
They spend most of their free time watching TV programs instead of playing outside with their peers.
In this case, the children may lack of the ability of communicate effectively with others.
TV makes them isolated. What’ more, sometimes the TV programs may contain se-xual scenes or bloody scenes that not suitable for children to watch.
This will cause negative effects on them.
To sum up, I think television has both advantages and disadvantages, people should find a balance between it. Make the most use of it, don’t be the salves of it.

in a sense we have come to our nation's capital to cash a check. when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
it is obvious today that america has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the negro people a bad check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." but we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation.
so we have come to cash this check -- a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.
we have also come to this hallowed spot to remind america of the fierce urgency of now. this is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. now is the time to open the doors of opportunity to all of god's children. now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.

游戲在英語(yǔ)課堂上的重要性都快比得上水之于魚(yú)了，很難想象一堂課上，如果沒(méi)有了游戲，該怎么繼續(xù)。不論高年級(jí)還是低年級(jí)，在游戲中學(xué)習(xí)都是一種十分有效的學(xué)習(xí)方式。低年級(jí)學(xué)生好動(dòng)又好勝，游戲能讓他們?cè)趧?dòng)身體的同時(shí)動(dòng)腦，并且享受成功的喜悅。高年級(jí)的課堂相對(duì)而言比較乏味，適時(shí)的游戲會(huì)是絕佳的作料。好的游戲能讓一堂沉悶的英語(yǔ)課活躍起來(lái)，是學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的興奮的藥劑。
一、游戲的安排應(yīng)講究一個(gè)“適”字，適時(shí)、適式、適度。
（一）適時(shí)組織游戲
看準(zhǔn)時(shí)機(jī)，針對(duì)學(xué)生的實(shí)際安排合適的游戲形式。
1.讓學(xué)生從思想上盡快進(jìn)入英語(yǔ)課堂，游戲?qū)胧莻�(gè)相當(dāng)快捷、有效的方法。我們可以安排listen and do，listen and point，look and say，flash and say等操作簡(jiǎn)單，但具有檢查性質(zhì)的游戲。學(xué)生在玩游戲的同時(shí)，復(fù)習(xí)了舊知識(shí)，情感上也得到了體驗(yàn)。而從這些舊知識(shí)的復(fù)習(xí)，我們可以自然過(guò)渡到新知識(shí)的傳授，溫故知新，以舊帶新，一舉兩得。
2.在復(fù)習(xí)鞏固階段，最忌諱的是機(jī)械操練。游戲能使復(fù)習(xí)變得生動(dòng)。比如我們學(xué)了一系列水果以后，安排老師拿一個(gè)水果，學(xué)生說(shuō)出來(lái)的環(huán)節(jié)，但反復(fù)幾次之后，學(xué)生的積極性就會(huì)減弱。這時(shí)，我們安排游戲Who is missing？Who is fast？Magic eyes等，學(xué)生的積極性就會(huì)立刻恢復(fù)，一只只小手又會(huì)爭(zhēng)先恐后地舉
起。
3.當(dāng)學(xué)生的臉上閃過(guò)“無(wú)聊”、“困惑”的痕跡時(shí)，游戲可解“燃眉之急”。高年級(jí)的學(xué)生面臨背單詞、記單詞的難題。如果不講究方法地死記硬背，不但效果不好，學(xué)生的興趣也會(huì)逐漸降低。在這個(gè)階段，如果能幫助他們掌握正確的方法，促使他們主動(dòng)背單詞，就會(huì)對(duì)他們以后的英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)有很大的幫助。單詞接龍、吊死鬼、尋找共同點(diǎn)等游戲，不僅讓學(xué)生始終處于積極思考的狀態(tài)，而且能提高他們課后記單詞的興趣。
�。ǘ┻m式組織游戲
有些游戲的可用性很強(qiáng)，如copy不走樣等游戲，無(wú)論什么內(nèi)容，都能套用。但有些游戲，卻不是什么內(nèi)容都合適的。教師要學(xué)會(huì)使用最恰當(dāng)?shù)挠螒颍鏵lash and guess這樣的游戲僅適合單詞教學(xué)，而不適合鞏固句型。
不同年齡階段的學(xué)生，對(duì)游戲的口味也不同，我們要學(xué)會(huì)投其所好。低年級(jí)的學(xué)生喜歡趣味性強(qiáng)的，如copy不走樣，high voice and low voice能引起他們參與的欲望。而高年級(jí)的學(xué)生則喜歡探索型的游戲，比如bingo、加減運(yùn)算對(duì)抗賽就很受他們的歡迎。
（三）適度組織游戲
在教學(xué)中，我們不能只為讓學(xué)生放松、玩樂(lè)而安排游戲，歸根結(jié)底，游戲是為教學(xué)服務(wù)的。在游戲活動(dòng)之前，我們必須指定相應(yīng)的規(guī)則，沒(méi)有規(guī)則，游戲過(guò)程就會(huì)很“亂”，有規(guī)則才能“活而
有序”。當(dāng)學(xué)生的“玩性”到五、六成的時(shí)候，我們的游戲就該結(jié)束了。因?yàn)槿绻螒蚪Y(jié)束太早，學(xué)生才剛進(jìn)入游戲狀態(tài)，熟悉游戲規(guī)則，就結(jié)束游戲，一來(lái)掃興，二來(lái)游戲的“運(yùn)用語(yǔ)言”的目的也沒(méi)達(dá)到。如果游戲結(jié)束得太晚，學(xué)生就會(huì)越來(lái)越無(wú)聊，下次再玩這類游戲就沒(méi)有了熱情。
二、游戲的組織，還要講究一個(gè)“變”字——以不變應(yīng)萬(wàn)變。
（一）巧設(shè)陷阱
同一個(gè)游戲“發(fā)口令，做動(dòng)作”，一般都是教師怎么發(fā)，學(xué)生怎么做，最多讓一個(gè)學(xué)生發(fā)，其他學(xué)生做，偶爾做做反口令，分組進(jìn)行比賽。做多了，學(xué)生的好奇心沒(méi)有了，游戲就變成了機(jī)械操練。如果設(shè)幾個(gè)陷阱，就會(huì)有“眼睛一眨，老母雞變鴨”的效果。趣味性的調(diào)節(jié)就是教師在做動(dòng)作的時(shí)候，可以先慢慢地好像在做“坐下”的動(dòng)作，眼神一定要是那種壞壞的，然后突然變成“起立”，讓學(xué)生產(chǎn)生和教師斗下去的欲望。師生成了“敵人”，而游戲就成了“戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)”。把動(dòng)作和語(yǔ)言結(jié)合起來(lái)，邊做動(dòng)作邊說(shuō)，動(dòng)作和口令有時(shí)一致，有時(shí)不一致。在訓(xùn)練學(xué)生對(duì)所學(xué)知識(shí)掌握的同時(shí)，還訓(xùn)練了學(xué)生的反應(yīng)能力。
（二）變換速度
隨著學(xué)生對(duì)知識(shí)的掌握逐漸加深，訓(xùn)練的速度可以逐漸加快，這不但適合學(xué)習(xí)的規(guī)律，還使原本枯燥的操練重新顯出生氣，學(xué)生逐漸淡化的新奇感又被激起。
（三）獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)機(jī)制的運(yùn)用
在教育中，我們能體會(huì)到表?yè)P(yáng)和激勵(lì)對(duì)學(xué)生起的作用比批評(píng)更大。在老師的激勵(lì)下，學(xué)生的探索精神更易發(fā)揮，更容易學(xué)會(huì)原本以為很難學(xué)的東西。我常常采用口頭表?yè)P(yáng)，認(rèn)為給學(xué)生物質(zhì)獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)會(huì)使他們變得功利，但在同事們的感染下，偶爾嘗試獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)，也取得了很好的激勵(lì)效果。我用小五星激勵(lì)學(xué)生，常常搞得自己整個(gè)黃昏剪五角星，有時(shí)，一節(jié)課獎(jiǎng)多了，自己還有點(diǎn)心疼，最重要的是用多了學(xué)生還不稀罕了。其實(shí)我們可以嘗試用加分的方法，注意分值有區(qū)別，加分要敏感，時(shí)時(shí)注意給學(xué)生以表?yè)P(yáng)，讓學(xué)生得到認(rèn)可。這樣一來(lái)，不但讓自己得到解脫，更使獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)更具可變性。

Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?"
the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. "There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn’t cost him a cent. And some day Im gonna give you one just like it . . . then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that Ive been trying to tell you about."

folks, it's long past time to cut the middle class back into the deal, so they can benefit from the economic growth they helped create. folks, there used to be a bargain in this country supported by democrats6 and republicans, business and labor7. the bargain was simple. if an employee contributed to the growth and profitability of the company, they got to share in the profits and the benefits as well. that's what built the middle class. it's time to restore the bargain, to deal the middle class back in. because, folks, when the middle class does well, everybody does well-the wealthy get wealthier and the poor have a way up.
you know, the middle class is not a number. it's a value set. it means being able to own your home; raise your children in a safe neighborhood; send them to a good school where if they do well they can qualify to go to college and if they get accepted you'd be able to find a way to be able to send them to college. and in the meantime, if your parents need help, being able to take care of them, and hope to put aside enough money so that your children will not have to take care of you.
that's the american dream. that's what this country was built on. and that's what we'redetermined8 to restore.
in order to do that, it's time to have a fair tax structure, one that values paychecks as much as unearned income and inherited wealth, to take some of the burden off of the middle class. it's time to close tax loopholes so we can reduce the deficit9, and invest in rebuilding america - our bridges, our ports, our highways, rails, providing good jobs.
with corporate10 profits at near record highs, we should encourage corporations to invest more in research and development and the salaries of their employees. it's time for us to invest in educational opportunity to guarantee that we have the most highly skilledworkforce11 in the world, for 6 out of every 10 jobs in the near term is going to require some education beyond high school. folks, it's long past due to increase the minimum wage that will lift millions of hardworking families out of poverty target poverty and in the process produce a ripple12 effect that boosts wages for the middle class and spurs economic growth for the united states of america. economists13 acknowledge that if we do these and other things, wages will go up and we'll increase the gross domestic product of the united states.

Second. Reasons. I found that the traffic management is the most serious problem in the traffic system. In some important crossroads, there are no enough traffic police to do the traffic grooming. It’s irrational. We paid so much taxes, but we cannot comfort what we should get. For example, on the overhead, two cars had made a traffic accident. This leaded the traffic jams. We had not see the traffic police from start to end. It took me nearly 10 minutes on the overhead. It was happened yesterday.
Third. To solve it. What I can advice is just add more traffic polices in the important crossroads. It’s the most useful way to solve the traffic jams. Because yesterday when we nearly went out the overhead, the speed was increased obviously. We found several traffic polices in the crossroad. They commanded cars and then the traffic went well.
That brings me to the end of my presentation. Let me just run over the key points again. Traffic jams was made by several resources. To solve it, we can depend on the traffic police. But for ourselves, to drive more carefully, more reasonably, maybe is another way to decrease the traffic jams.

In the past years, we stopped killing animals for nutrition we don't need. We passed laws and regulations to protect the least-advantaged people. We all know that we can't upset the balance of nature without a price although sometimes people choose to neglect the consequences and give in to the desire of fortune. Silent Spring, a very famous book written by Rachel Carson, revealed the fact that DDT and such chemical products could be very lethal to creatures like birds, and therefore they caused irreversible damage to our eco-system. The manufacturers knew exactly about the side effects but they chose to conceal the fact for their own interests. Without the humanists like Rachel Carson, we will remain ignorant and eventualy face our own doom desperately.
The role of humanism is absolutely indispensable. It gives us a unique opportunity to be wise and act in ways that elevate us above the animal kingdom. It retains our humanness.
