I received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. But one of the panel members told me: "You seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged." My life has never been the same since. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing.
As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party. Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight, once on stage, I was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use. As the dwarf, I was a big hit.
Yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique. Cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.
A world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place. The real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawless charming girl.
Given a choice, I would rather be ugly than live in such a world. I'd rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a Snow White than be a Snow White among nothing but Snow Whites. I would rather be myself. I would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe. Please, be yourself.

Why does football get people into a frenzy?
Who is your idol? It may be Napoleon, Picasso, or Michael Jackson. But who is my idol? Can you guess? It is Ronaldo. He is the No. 1 super star of football.
Football is a game in which 22 people chase one ball around a large field. The aim of the game is to get the ball into the net to score.
After all, it’s such an easy game, and yet people go crazy mad over it. The answer lies in two facts. One is the game itself. Sometimes it is beyond any description. Football is a game of passes and techniques, passion and love, more importantly, unity is the key---the whole team working as one, united they will never be defeated.
The European’s style. of play is like a Waltz, the Brazilian like a Samba, and the passionate Argentineans play as if they are doing a Tango. Football is so unpredictable, so unbelievable. You will never know who will win until the last minute. Especially when suddenly there is a goal, the fans who have been sitting on the edge of their seats, will be wild with joy and excitement; and the losers with disappointed hearts will despair over their teams.
The other is of course the super stars. Each one has his own personality, just like my idol Ronaldo. When he smiles, we all smile with him. Who can forget that buck-toothed smile, or that unique hairstyle. during the 20xx World Cup. Ronaldo was born to a poor family. He has set an example to children who can’t afford a pair of shoes, but have talent and a passion for football. He gives them confidence and hope of a better future.
Football is the game that wins everyone’s heart and the best game ever invented.

今天要演講的題目是“人生的目標(biāo)”。
古人云：“有志者，事竟成。”所謂志，就是指—個人為自己確立的“遠(yuǎn)大志向”，確立的人生目標(biāo)。人生目標(biāo)，是生活的燈塔，力量的源泉，如果失去了它，就會迷失前進(jìn)的方向。確定了人生的目標(biāo)，才可能選擇生活的道路，進(jìn)而才能夠掌握、控制自己的人生。
有了目標(biāo)，人生就變的充滿意義，—切似乎清晰、明朗地擺在你的面前。什么是應(yīng)當(dāng)去做的，什么是不應(yīng)當(dāng)去做的，為什么而做，為誰而做，所有的要素都是那么明顯而清晰。于是生活便會添加更多的活力與激情。使我們自身隱匿的潛能得到充分地迸發(fā)，為實現(xiàn)高素質(zhì)的人生打下堅實的基礎(chǔ)。
追憶歷史，任何年代，任何國家，社會結(jié)構(gòu)都接近—種金字塔狀。大量的人處在金字塔的底部，只有—小部分人處在金字塔的頂部。處在底部的人只能做普通的工作，有普通的收入，實現(xiàn)不了自己的理想和包袱，而處在塔頂?shù)娜藙t是蒸蒸日上，享受豐厚的財富，發(fā)展前途不可限量。然而人們往往忽視了，這些身處塔頂?shù)娜�，曾�?jīng)也處在底部，是—個默默無聞、普普通通的人，—步—步地攀上了金字塔的頂部。

人生目標(biāo)可分為長遠(yuǎn)目標(biāo)和短期目標(biāo)。如果—個人沒有長遠(yuǎn)目標(biāo)，那么他的人生將是盲目的，—切的努力都將是無用功。但如果—個人沒有短期的目標(biāo)，他將不知道自己每天要做些什么，腳步不知道朝什么方向邁出。將人生的長遠(yuǎn)目標(biāo)劃分成—個個節(jié)點，就成了每—個時期的短期目標(biāo)，仿佛人生的驛站。所有的短期目標(biāo)都指向同—個方向，為長遠(yuǎn)目標(biāo)做基礎(chǔ)，這就是所有成功的人所遵循的公式。

李彥宏20xx年10月22日在南京大學(xué)與超過一萬名90后大學(xué)生面對面交流，話題從個人能力與聰明到時代機遇和個人挑戰(zhàn)，再到價值觀和理想、奮斗，甚至世界末日。90后們，時代已經(jīng)給了機遇，為什么不去改變世界?
一、談聰明和能力
1.說心里話，我沒有覺得我比別人聰明多少，我從小就沒有這種感覺，我只是覺得我比大多數(shù)人更加執(zhí)著。一直到今天，20多年的時間，就只干了一件事情，你說我是不是應(yīng)該比一般人干得要好一點?
2.人和人之間的聰明程度真的沒有差別，更多是他的情商、他的理想、他的熱情、他的學(xué)習(xí)能力，或者說是學(xué)習(xí)的意愿和動力導(dǎo)致他可以做一些別人做不出來的事情。
二、談工作
3.每一個企業(yè)都有它自己存在的理由，這個企業(yè)到底為什么存在?或者說這個企業(yè)的使命是什么?百度的使命不是純粹為了賺錢，更多的是為了讓這個世界變得更美好。我相信百度的四萬多名員工，他們每天之所以那么辛苦工作，不僅僅是因為他可以掙到一份工資，更應(yīng)該是他跟他的那些同事一起，通過他們不懈的努力，不斷地改變著這個社會，改變著人們的生活，他從這里找到了成就感。
4.當(dāng)你的工作，能夠跟每一個你周邊的普通人有著非常密切的聯(lián)系，每個人都可以很容易跟你找到共同語言的時候，你就知道你做的并不是一份簡單的工作，你不是在打工，不只是在簡單地掙錢，而是在改變著這個社會，改變著人們的生活。
5.一般而言，我主要的關(guān)注點是項目好不好，而不是環(huán)境好不好。
三、談機遇
6.現(xiàn)在整個社會環(huán)境發(fā)生了變化，90后沒有那么多人想去當(dāng)官了。你們這一代人有更多的機會進(jìn)入企業(yè)界，進(jìn)入一個真正靠自由競爭，靠市場的力量角逐你的能力，判斷你的貢獻(xiàn)的時代。在這樣的時代，你們的創(chuàng)新一定會超過上一代人，所以你們很幸運，你們有很多很多機會。
7.我們現(xiàn)在處在一個非常好的時代，有時我想，這就是一個magictime，一個魔幻般的時代。對于我們這一代人來說，我們見證到了人工智能、機器學(xué)習(xí)、以及很多相關(guān)的技術(shù)，終于從理論走到了實踐，有了實用價值，所以我們這一代人可做的東西非常多。我們一起通過創(chuàng)新、技術(shù)來改變互聯(lián)網(wǎng)、改變中國，改變?nèi)澜纭?/p>
8.其實我們這一代人，包括我和你們，都趕上了很好的時代，中國國力日漸強盛，現(xiàn)在是全球第二大經(jīng)濟(jì)體，而且在非常高速地增長。我們生活在了一個充滿機會的，有很多創(chuàng)新的時代，我們不要辜負(fù)這樣一個好的機會，而是要通過我們的努力在歷史上留下我們的身影，留下我們的足跡。
四、談價值觀和理想
9.很多時候，只有當(dāng)大家的價值觀相同，或者比較相似的時候呢，事情一談就能夠談定，而且可以一起做很多很有意義的事情。
10.優(yōu)秀的人其實都是非常有想法的，他們希望能在一個環(huán)境中真正地施展開來，并真正地把自己的想法變成實際，能夠進(jìn)入action，但這樣的機會并不容易得到的。
11.十年前，我從美國回來，我代表美國公司到中國去、招中國的員工給美國市場做產(chǎn)品;但今天，我代表了一家中國公司到美國去、招美國員工給中國市場開發(fā)產(chǎn)品，我覺得很驕傲。
五、談堅持
12.為了說服他們(反對者)，當(dāng)時我花了很多很多的精力，既摔了電話，也說了很多類似于“大不了老子不干了”的狠話。最后，他們雖然在道理上并沒有被我說服，但是在情感上，他們會覺得，如果一個創(chuàng)業(yè)者真的相信他所走的方向是正確的，那就該被支持。在當(dāng)時的人看來，我的舉動是很瘋狂，但在我內(nèi)心當(dāng)中，我對自己是非常有信心的，也覺得這條路非走不可，現(xiàn)在證明我走對了。
六、談生活
13.我也不知道我的哪一分鐘是在工作、哪一分鐘是在生活，就是這樣這么多年過下來，每天還是很早就起來了，每天高高興興就去上班，這個時候上班你說為掙錢吧，應(yīng)該不是，我不需要這么多錢了。但是我還需要去跟我的百度同事們，大家一起去討論問題，去看一看有什么樣的新技術(shù)可以應(yīng)用到新的產(chǎn)品當(dāng)中，有什么樣新的功能，能夠讓更多的人從互聯(lián)網(wǎng)當(dāng)中受益，我覺得這是一個很美妙很偉大的事情。
七、談世界末日
14.有時候人們會，尤其是記者問我說，如果明天是世界末日，你今天會怎么過?我通常給他的回答是，我今天的過法和昨天前天其實是一模一樣的，我每過一天都覺得很充實，我想就應(yīng)該是這樣的過法，即使明天沒了我一點遺憾都沒有。
