facing this audience on the stage, i have the exciting feeling of participating in the march of history, for what we are facing today is more than a mere competition or contest.

though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, i believe, the root of a spirit which has been essential to me and to all the people bred by the past years.
in my elementary years, there was a little girl in the class who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her lessons.
the teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me.
but as a young boy, restless, thoughtless, i always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself.
one day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, could you please explain this to me? i want very much to do better this time.
i started explaining, and finished in a hurry.
pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, i ran off quickly.
nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam.
and two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer.
no one ever knew about the little task i failed to fulfill, but i couldn't forgive myself.
i simply couldn't forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, why didn't you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? why didn't you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that i would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret?
i was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for i began to understand the word responsibility and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society.

yes, it's mother that you will always think of and it's mother's love that will be always together with you.
i once heard a moving story about a mother. two children were drawn into the flood and the situation was very dangerous. their mother jumped into the water without the least hesitation. but you know the moth－er could not swim at all. jumping into the water means she might lose her life. but at that time she had no time to think about herself. she just wanted to try all means to save her children.
maybe her courage moved the god. the miracle happened. she finally succeeded in saving her children one by one. and she, of course, felt extremely ex－h(huán)austed.
my friends, mother's love is the greatest love. mother's love is the safest love. no matter you are happy or sorrowful, rich or poor, mother's love will always stay with you.

你知道什么是世界上最珍貴、最永恒的事物嗎？金錢？不！不是！因?yàn)榧词鼓阊p萬貫，但如果揮霍無度的話，你也會有不名一文的時候。青春？也不是！在人漫長的一生中，青春如曇花一現(xiàn)，稍縱即逝，世界上誰也沒有永葆青春的秘訣。也許你會說美貌，我覺得也不是。盡管很多人都希望美麗常在，可是往往不如人意，況且我們一旦陷入困境時，即使擁有美貌，那也無能為力。那么，一個好的工作應(yīng)該是了吧？但是，朋友，你應(yīng)意識到，隨著年齡的逐漸增大，我們一天天在衰老，思維呢，不如以前敏捷；手腳呢，也不如人家靈活。這時，你不能勝任那個工作了，即使它再好，也不得不拱手相讓。
那么，到底什么才是世界上最珍貴、最永恒的事物呢？

1)開始時對聽眾的稱呼語 最常用的是 ladies and gentlemen，也可根據(jù)不同情況，選用 fellow students, distinguished guests, mr chairman, honorable judges(評委)等等。
2)提出論題 由于演講的時間限制，必須開門見山，提出論題。提出論題的方法有各種各樣，但最生動，最能引起注意的是用舉例法。比如：你要呼吁大家關(guān)心貧窮地區(qū)的孩子，你可以用親眼看到的或者收集到的那些貧窮孩子多么需要幫助的實(shí)例開始。另外，用具體的統(tǒng)計(jì)數(shù)據(jù)也是一個有效的引出論題的方法，比如：你要談遵守交通規(guī)則的話題，你可以從舉一系列有關(guān)車輛、車禍等的數(shù)據(jù)開始。

2、情感上的說服性
