環(huán)境保護(hù)主題英語演講稿:踐行綠色生活 篇1
We all know that humans are damaging the environment, but what can we do about it? Some people are trying to do their bit to try to be moreenvironmentally friendly.
Localcouncils in Britain encourage certain aspects of green living, such as recycling paper, tin, plastic and glass. They want to reduce the amount of rubbish going intolandfill sites, because they are running out of places to dump rubbish. In some areas rubbish for recycling is collected from your doorstep, but in other areas, you have to take it to a special recycling place, such as a bottle bank.
Another way of reducing the amount of rubbish you create is to use reusable products instead of disposable ones. For example, some people use strong shopping bags or boxes for their groceries instead of plastic carrier bags, or use washable nappies instead of disposables.
More people are becoming interested in reducing their carbon footprint – the amount of carbon they use up. They try to reduce their carbon emissions by cycling, using public transport or an electric car, rather than driving gas-guzzling vehicles. Some people choose not to fly to go on holiday because aeroplanes are the biggest producers of carbon emissions.
You can make ‘green’ choices when buying food too. It’s best to buy food which was locally grown or produced so that it hasn’t been imported by air, or transported long distances by road.
Houses can be environmentally friendly too. It takes less energy to heat a house if it has good insulation and double glazing. You can also create your own energy if you havesolar panels or a wind turbine fitted though these can be expensive. You can also save water by using a rain water butt for washing the car or watering the garden. It’s even possible to use a system where ‘grey water’ – water which has been through a tap once already, is used to flush toilets. Some new housing projects are being built specifically to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

It is not easy to think positive thoughts when the world around you appears to be so negative. In fact, it can be as difficult as anything you’ve ever done. However, it is absolutely possible to fill your mind with positive thoughts no matter what the environment is. Doing so makes you powerful like nothing else can.
To think positively is to alignyourselfwith1 the truth that you’re immersed2 in limitless, growing abundance. To think positively is to pleasantly accept that your life is full of meaningful and unique achievements.
Instead of placing a judgement on your situation, apply your most positive purposes to that situation. Instead of seeing the world as negative, see yourself as a powerful agent of the positive possibilities.
If you find yourself giving in to negativity, you are selling yourself short. The moment you feel the slightest pain of a negative thought, stop and remind yourself how powerful you are. Do the intentional work of keeping your thoughts positive. Because whatever you always think is where your life will surely and steadily go.

Zoos should be banned.
Nowadays, lots of people start to realize that zoos are not a good place for animals. People need zoos because it is an easy way to close the animals and also because it's convenient for people to observe them. However, zoos are in fact a cruel place for animals. Animals should live in their natural habitat. An animal's natural instinct is to run and to hunt. But that's not for animals kept in zoos. Everyday, people feed them. They've never been taught how to hunt for food and will gradually lose their natures. That will be quite cruel for a animal, especially for wild animals such as tigers and lions. You can often find in zoos that a tiger kept in cage has a loose expression in its face.We set animals in zoos and therefore feel that they won't meet danger and may be able to protect them from dying out. This may be just a excuse we find for ourselves to make animals in cages just as entertainment. We always say animals are our friends, then why we put our friends in cages?
