Students,we come from? to hear this question,i am sure you will say thatparents are taken to put us up in the world. yes ah,one day more than a decadeago, our parents happy with tears and smiles to greet the arrival of the u.s..but when we came to the world the moment that many parents have a hard job - wetake care of. this is even though a heavy burden, but has no complaints toparents raising me up.
In order to give us a comfortable living environment, they are always sohard, then the effort. small,i always treat this issue as a matter of course, because i do not know, nor do i know the hard work of parents. now,i grew up,and i know with a heart of thanksgiving to appreciate their parents, should takeon, take care of,the responsibility of your parents
There is an old said:"the milk of the sheep have to kneel tu,a feed hasmeaning." bit by bit,our growth can not be separated from their parents to helpwhen the water springs of the tu reported that, therefore,we should know how tofeel gratitude for it,know how to thank their parents .
Call us first time parents, first step towards independence, the first towrite a word askew when ... ... are parents around to teach us patience.parents, are giving us god does not require any modification of the sustenanceof the soul.
When we are confronted with difficulties,to devote all of us to helppeople, their parents are.
When we are wronged,to be patient to listen to our cry of the people, their parents are.
When we make mistakes,he will not hesitate to forgive us who areparents.
When we succeed, would like for us to celebrate,to share with us thepleasure, are the parents.
And now far away in our field study,it is still concerned about ourparents.
Now i left the distant parents, came here, the mother will ask me homesick,i very firmly said:"no,certainly not!"
But to the school,in the face of unfamiliar faces unfamiliar environment,i want to cry well. are upset when the home to the phone, the mother the rightto ask me please. my tears quickly down, and tried to not let her find.
Not familiar with the latter slowly, although it was no longer such ashomesickness, but there are always unhappy when the advent of a lot of times atnight, when feeling lonely, they will naturally think of distant family members, think of it in the remote mountain village in their own lives more than a dozenof the spring and autumn, and a phone call out greetings and listen to thevoices of parents and that kind.
Chinese cities should close schools, cut working hours and stop outdoor activities during the most severe spells of air pollution, the ministry of environmental protection has said.
"Every possible compulsory measure" must be taken to cut emissions during the heaviest smog – including suspending factory production and imposing traffic restrictions.
The ministry's guidelines, issued in a circular, come as China grapples with frequent choking smog in its big cities, a consequence of years of breakneck economic growth that has fuelled public anger.
State media recently reported that an eight-year-old girl who lived near a busy thoroughfare in the coastal province of Jiangsu had been diagnosed with lung cancer. The case of the girl, believed to be the country's youngest lung cancer patient, has sparked a public outcry.
Despite frequent calls for cutting pollution over recent years, and growing public anger, the problem has only got worse. Schools and workplaces typically operate as normal in all but the most severe smog, even when it reaches hazardous levels.
Primary and middle schools suspended classes last month in the north-east city of Harbin during a smog emergency. The airport and some bus routes were also closed.
China must also toughen anti-pollution measures on industry and reduce its dependence on coal, which produces more than three-quarters of the country's electricity, the environment ministry said.
Public security departments should also toughen checks on vehicles, including phasing out older ones, and ensure there are not too many on the roads, it said.
China said in September it would slash coal consumption and shut down polluting mills, factories and smelters, though experts have said implementing the measures would prove difficult.
Air pollution is expected to worsen this winter because of a chronic natural gas shortage.
Hello, everyone. My name is , I come from Shandong Province. As everyone knows, Shandong is the birthplace of football. So, today I want to say something about football.
Football is originated in ancient China which was called cuju at that time. Cuju has a long history of over two thousand years. It started from Chunqiu Period and was very popular in Song Dynasty. In Song Dynasty, even the women loved play Cuju at that time . As everyone knows, ,Gao Qiu ,the worst government official in the novel of Water Margin , specializes in playing cuju and by coincidence, he met the prince, and then he was promoted to an aga.
Unfortunately, due to the limitations of the feudal society ,nobody played cuju any longer in Qing dynasty. And now, cuju is protected as a kind of culture heritage in China .
In the 17th century, cuju was spread to Europe and developed into the sport called modern football. In the 18th century, some British soldiers and poor workers began to play a kind of sport by kicking a ball filled of leather , soon, this sport called football became famous all over the Europe.
And now. football is one of the most popular sports in the world. There are more than 4 billion of football fans all over the world. People like football ,because it has magnificent skills、fast speed、wonderful goals、perfect teamwork and handsome football players. For example, Beckham、kaka.
Now, there are many famous football clubs likes Real Madrid,Barcelona,Manchester and so on. They have the greatest players and coaches in the world. For example, Real Madrid, it has one of the greatest players in the world—— C. Ronaldo. He has strong muscles, superb skills, and fast speed. He has a yearly salary of more than 10 million Euro which means that he is one of the most valuable football player in the world. In 20__, C.Ronaldo won the UEFA Champions League and then he got the FIFA World Player of the year.
The FIFA world cup is the most important competition in international football. The World Cup is held every four years, but the qualifying rounds of the competition take place over a three-year period, using regional qualifying tournaments. Only eight nations have won the World Cup. Brazil is the most successful World Cup team, having won the tournament five times. With five titles, Brazil is the most successful World Cup team and also the only nation which have played in every World Cup to date至今, and they will host the 20th World Cup in 20__.Whats more, Ronaldo, who used to be a Brazil player, keeps the record of the most goals for the World Cup.
The World Cup Trophy , is made of pure gold. The bottom of trophy is made of two layers of malachite , which can be carved 17 champion countries. The FIFA set a new rule that the new champion can’t have the trophy forever and it should be given back to the FIFA. What’s more, every champion country just can keep it till next world cup while their name is carved on the trophy
Football is a sport. Through sports, we can become stronger, and smarter. However, football is not just a sport. Sometimes, football is a kind of religion or a kind of belief. It could uintes us together to overcome any difficulties. In some poor
countries, football is the only joy which the children could afford. And sometimes, football could heal the wound. The War could destroy a country, but never a boy’s football dream. In 20__ , Iraq won the Asian cup.
Sometimes, football is violent, sometimes, football can be complicated, sometimes, football could hurt the players. But no matter how it transforms, it still helps people to believe themselves, find happiness and hold to their dreams. What’s more, football is a part of life forever.
Never Give Up
“If I could reach higher, just for one moment to touch the sky…”---this is from my favorite song Reach.
When we are appreciating the passionate melody of Gloria Estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. In the year 1990, this Cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. But Gloria did not give up and kept up constant exercising. Just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the Atlanta Olympics.
Whenever I think of Gloria, I can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when I first entered university. Naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly duckling, I seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. And the successive failures in the beginning led me into despair. “Am I destined to take the back seat to others?” Unwilling to submit to the fate, I paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film dubbing, recital, drama… cause I just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. Constant effort yields sure success. Thanks to the competition, I received some awards and most of all, I gained the courage and confidence to face any difficulties in my life journey.
Life is just like farming, and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication. Once you have a dream, don’t be hesitant. Your next difficult step may be the one to the top. Keep going forward, even in the toughest time, and never give up.

When Dorothy was a little girl, she wasfascinated by her goldfish. Her father explained to her that fish swim byquickly wagging their tails to propel themselves through the water. Withouthesitation, little Dorothy responded, "Yes, Daddy, and fish swim backwardsby wagging their heads."
In her mind, it was a fact as true as anyother. Fish swim backwards by wagging their heads. She believed it.
Our lives are full of fish swimmingbackwards. We make assumptions and faulty leaps of logic. We harbor bias. Weknow that we are right, and they are wrong. We fear the worst. We strive forunattainable perfection. We tell ourselves what we can and cannot do. In ourminds, fish swim by in reverse frantically wagging their heads and we don'teven notice them.
I'm going to tell you five facts aboutmyself. One fact is not true. One: I graduated from Harvard at 19 with anhonors degree in mathematics. Two: I currently run a construction company inOrlando. Three: I starred on a television sitcom. Four: I lost my sight to arare genetic eye disease. Five: I served as a law clerk to two US Supreme Courtjustices. Which fact is not true? Actually, they're all true. Yeah. They're alltrue.
At this point, most people really only careabout the television show.
I know this from experience. OK, so theshow was NBC's "Saved by the Bell: The New Class." And I playedWeasel Wyzell, who was the sort of dorky, nerdy character on the show, whichmade it a very major acting challenge for me as a 13-year-old boy.
Now, did you struggle with number four, myblindness? Why is that? We make assumptions about so-called disabilities. As ablind man, I confront others' incorrect assumptions about my abilities everyday. My point today is not about my blindness, however. It's about my vision.Going blind taught me to live my life eyes wide open. It taught me to spotthose backwards-swimming fish that our minds create. Going blind cast them intofocus.
What does it feel like to see? It'simmediate and passive. You open your eyes and there's the world. Seeing isbelieving. Sight is truth. Right? Well, that's what I thought.
Then, from age 12 to 25, my retinasprogressively deteriorated. My sight became an increasingly bizarre carnivalfunhouse hall of mirrors and illusions. The salesperson I was relieved to spotin a store was really a mannequin. Reaching down to wash my hands, I suddenlysaw it was a urinal I was touching, not a sink, when my fingers felt its trueshape.
A friend described the photograph in my hand, and only then I could seethe image depicted. Objects appeared, morphed and disappeared in my reality. Itwas difficult and exhausting to see. I pieced together fragmented, transitoryimages, consciously analyzed the clues, searched for some logic in my crumblingkaleidoscope, until I saw nothing at all.
I learned that what we see is not universaltruth. It is not objective reality. What we see is a unique, personal, virtualreality that is masterfully constructed by our brain.
Let me explain with a bit of amateurneuroscience. Your visual cortex takes up about 30 percent of your brain. That's compared to approximately eight percent for touch and two to threepercent for hearing. Every second, your eyes can send your visual cortex as manyas two billion pieces of information. The rest of your body can send your brainonly an additional billion. So sight is one third of your brain by volume andcan claim about two thirds of your brain's processing resources. It's nosurprise then that the illusion of sight is so compelling. But make no mistakeabout it: sight is an illusion.
Here's where it gets interesting. To createthe experience of sight, your brain references your conceptual understanding ofthe world, other knowledge, your memories, opinions, emotions, mentalattention. All of these things and far more are linked in your brain to yoursight. These linkages work both ways, and usually occur subconsciously. So for example, what you see impacts how you feel, and the way you feel can literally change what you see.
Numerous studies demonstrate this. If you are asked toestimate the walking speed of a man in a video, for example, your answer willbe different if you're told to think about cheetahs or turtles. A hill appearssteeper if you've just exercised, and a landmark appears farther away if you'rewearing a heavy backpack. We have arrived at a fundamental contradiction.
What you see is a complex mental construction of your own making, but you experienceit passively as a direct representation of the world around you. You createyour own reality, and you believe it. I believed mine until it broke apart. Thedeterioration of my eyes shattered the illusion.
You see, sight is just one way we shape ourreality. We create our own realities in many other ways. Let's take fear asjust one example. Your fears distort your reality. Under the warped logic offear, anything is better than the uncertain. Fear fills the void at all costs, passing off what you dread for what you know, offering up the worst in place ofthe ambiguous, substituting assumption for reason. Psychologists have a greatterm for it: awfulizing.
Right? Fear replaces the unknown with theawful. Now, fear is self-realizing. When you face the greatest need to lookoutside yourself and think critically, fear beats a retreat deep inside yourmind, shrinking and distorting your view, drowning your capacity for criticalthought with a flood of disruptive emotions. When you face a compellingopportunity to take action, fear lulls you into inaction, enticing you topassively watch its prophecies fulfill themselves.
When I was diagnosed with my blindingdisease, I knew blindness would ruin my life. Blindness was a death sentencefor my independence. It was the end of achievement for me. Blindness meant Iwould live an unremarkable life, small and sad, and likely alone. I knew it.This was a fiction born of my fears, but I believed it. It was a lie, but itwas my reality, just like those backwards-swimming fish in little Dorothy'smind. If I had not confronted the reality of my fear, I would have lived it. Iam certain of that.
So how do you live your life eyes wideopen? It is a learned discipline. It can be taught. It can be practiced. I willsummarize very briefly.
Hold yourself accountable for every moment, every thought, every detail. See beyond your fears. Recognize your assumptions.Harness your internal strength. Silence your internal critic. Correct yourmisconceptions about luck and about success. Accept your strengths and yourweaknesses, and understand the difference. Open your hearts to your bountifulblessings.
Your fears, your critics, your heroes, yourvillains -- they are your excuses, rationalizations, shortcuts, justifications, your surrender. They are fictions you perceive as reality. Choose to seethrough them. Choose to let them go. You are the creator of your reality. Withthat empowerment comes complete responsibility.
I chose to step out of fear's tunnel intoterrain uncharted and undefined. I chose to build there a blessed life. Farfrom alone, I share my beautiful life with Dorothy, my beautiful wife, with ourtriplets, whom we call the Tripskys, and with the latest addition to thefamily, sweet baby Clementine.
What do you fear? What lies do you tellyourself? How do you embellish your truth and write your own fictions? Whatreality are you creating for yourself?
In your career and personal life, in yourrelationships, and in your heart and soul, your backwards-swimming fish do yougreat harm. They exact a toll in missed opportunities and unrealized potential, and they engender insecurity and distrust where you seek fulfillment andconnection. I urge you to search them out.
Helen Keller said that the only thing worsethan being blind is having sight but no vision. For me, going blind was aprofound blessing, because blindness gave me vision. I hope you can see what Isee.
Thank you.(Applause)

Bruno Giussani: Isaac, before you leave thestage, just a question. This is an audience of entrepreneurs, of doers, ofinnovators. You are a CEO of a company down in Florida, and many are probablywondering, how is it to be a blind CEO? What kind of specific challenges do youhave, and how do you overcome them?
Isaac Lidsky: Well, the biggest challengebecame a blessing. I don't get visual feedback from people.
BG: What's that noise there? IL: Yeah. So,for example, in my leadership team meetings, I don't see facial expressions orgestures. I've learned to solicit a lot more verbal feedback. I basically forcepeople to tell me what they think. And in this respect, it's become, like Isaid, a real blessing for me personally and for my company, because wecommunicate at a far deeper level, we avoid ambiguities, and most important, myteam knows that what they think truly matters.
BG: Isaac, thank you for coming to TED. IL:Thank you, Bruno.

Zoos should be banned.
Nowadays, lots of people start to realize that zoos are not a good place for animals. People need zoos because it is an easy way to close the animals and also because it's convenient for people to observe them. However, zoos are in fact a cruel place for animals. Animals should live in their natural habitat. An animal's natural instinct is to run and to hunt. But that's not for animals kept in zoos. Everyday, people feed them. They've never been taught how to hunt for food and will gradually lose their natures. That will be quite cruel for a animal, especially for wild animals such as tigers and lions. You can often find in zoos that a tiger kept in cage has a loose expression in its face.We set animals in zoos and therefore feel that they won't meet danger and may be able to protect them from dying out. This may be just a excuse we find for ourselves to make animals in cages just as entertainment. We always say animals are our friends, then why we put our friends in cages?

Everyone knows that diligence is the key to success. As a proverb goes: “Diligence is the mother of success.” Diligence means working hard andpersistently.
All famous people of great achievements are examples of diligence. They allowe their success to hard work. Without constant efforts, no one can expect tosucceed in doing anything great. Thomas Edison kept on working hard for a longtime before he was able to invent he electric light. Madame Curie worked hard inthe poor conditions for many years before she finally discovered radium. Somepeople may attribute success to good luck. But good luck favors those who arewell prepared and diligent people who can make use of it. So idleness can onlylead to poverty. If you do not devote yourself to your study and work, you canhardly make a living, let alone make some accomplishments.
As high school students, we must be aware that the only way to success ishard work. We must concentrate our attention on our studies, and make full useof our precious time, in order to meet the fierce challenges in the futurecompetitions. It is certain that our future success will only rest on ourconstant efforts. As a proverb goes: “Only by working hard can we reap a bumperharvest.”

In social life, there is no doubt that more and more people suffer from a lot of heavy pressures. With such burdens,we always find ourselves in overwhelming darkness and feel painful in our life. Therefore, some people who can't stand the stresses, choose the stupidest way to kill themselves to make the stresses at the end. However, there are many ways to reduce our pressures.
Above all,we can relax ourselves by doing sports. When we are running,we are absorbed in the destination and forget the annoyed things.Take my experience for example. In my high school,If I didn't insist on doing my endless examinations and countless exercise books,I was willing to run around my school's playground because it can release my pressures.Secondly,as we all know, listening to the music is the best choice for us to forget our unhappiness due to the fact that the gentle music can make our mood peaceful.Thirdly, when we meet problems in our life,we can share our terrible stories with our friends and they are likely to give useful advice for us.Last but not least, what the most important is that we have to make full preparation before the problems' arrival. For example,in order to pass the college examination,we should review all our textbooks in advance,so we can be confident in exam and reduce our pressure before examination.
In fact, stress can give our motivation to make the thing best, and tell us that we can't be lazy and have to climb the top mountain. Thus, what we should do now are making full use of stress and using the right way to deal with stress.

Ladies and gentlemen ,
good morning.Today ,my topic is ‘be the best and to be myself’.
Who is the best student in your class Do you think the best student often draws attention from others and are you even jealous of him or her from time to time
Frankly speaking, I do.
In my class , my deskmate is considered to be the best.In teachers’ eyes ,he is a clever boy ;
So intelligent is he that he is able to figure out difficult problems in extremely short time. From most classmates’ point of view ,he is an energetic friend. Not only can he play the Jazz drum wonderfully ,but also he is good at so many sports .Furthermore ,he always shows his sense of humour in the communication with others.Definitely ,he is the best.Nevertheless ,I don’t admire him in the least or I don’t agree that I’m supposed to become what he is .Despite the fact that I have ever been green with envy ,I’m conscious that everyone has his own values .No matter how outstanding others are, I should spare no effort to be myself .I used to think of myself as an average student.Although I am capable of playing the trumpet and using computer software practically, seldom do I show my advantages at school .On account of that, it seems that the only impression I have left on my teachers and classmates is that I’m a hardworking ,modest and silent student. What I wonder is how I can show my outgoing and lively side to them.If I make it, I am surely the best of myself.
It goes without saying that we ought not to seek to be like others all the time .I have been looking for my particular value in the society and that should be the best of myself.
That’ all.Thank you for your attention.

In recent years, college students find it increasingly difficult to get a job. It sounds strange since young college students are usually intelligent, well-educated phenomenon, aspirant and eager to bring their talent into full play. Then what underlies the strange phenomenon? high. All they want are “good” jobs which could offer good salary, comfortable working conditions, high social status among others. Consequently, most college students are unwilling to accept vacant jobs they consider not “good” enough. Another reason is that there is a big gap between the majors some students study in school and the demands of vacant jobs. So companies think some students are not fit for the jobs.
Solution to the problem requires efforts on both the society and the students. The companies should value the students, talent and knowledge while the latter should not merely aim at material gains. They should be down-to–earth in building up their career. Furthermore, they should face their weak points so as to improve themselves and be more competent.
good morning ladies and gentlemen. today i’m very glad to be here with youto share my stories and opinions about reading. i love reading from the bottomof my heart. and i do learn a lot from books. i know the wonderful stories ofgreat heroes in history, secrets of nature, mysteries of ufo and our universe.to me , books are like a faithful friend, always around me , giving me enjoymentand wisdom. i remember when i was in primary school, ten or eleven years old, myfather borrowed some books from the library in his school. those were among thegreatest works of the world, including abrabian nights、the legend ofdeification, journey to the west, and the romance of the three kingdoms. thesebooks were all written in
ancient chinese characters but i tried to read the heavy books and weredeeply attracted. from then on, i spared every minute to read whatever i couldget. whenever i got a new book, i kept reading until i finished it despite timeand place. i read books even in class or just a few minutes before the exams. inmy mind, there is always an unforgettable scene: lying in bed, nervous butexcited, my friend and i read a book together in the weak light of a flashlight, with a quilt on us, in order not to be blamed by parents. all my classmatesthought i was crazy and gave me a nickname “bookworm”. so you can understand whyi got my eyes shortsighted.
till now, i still like reading as i used to. and i’m very
pleased to see that my ten-year-old son loves reading just like me. i havebought him many books. whenever you come into my home, you can find books inevery corner. but the place where my son and i enjoy reading most is in thetoilet. so it often happens in the morning: one is in the toilet readingsomething comfortably, while another
walking outside , shouting. for my age, i like to read magazines or shortstories to get relaxation as well as inspiration.
today we live in a world of prosperity. never before have we
faced so many temptation from the outside world. never before have we hadso many chances to enjoy our lives. we drive rather than walking; we go onlineto chat with people we’ve never met before instead of talking to friends aroundus. but there’s always something that cannot be replaced and forgotten., such asbooks. so i will allow myself to continue the journey in the ocean of booksuntil the very end of my life.
finally, i’d like to end my speech with a great philosopher, writer andthinker, francis bacon’s famous saying: reading makes a full man. studies servefor delight, for ornament, and for ability. thank you very much.

Ninety three percent of the worlds water is salt water and cannot be drunk. Fresh water only accounts for seven percent, while drinking water only accounts for eight percent. Five billion people in the world depend on drinking only 0.8% of the fresh water. Look, how valuable the water is!
How do we get the tap water we use every day? Dont think running water is all right. It was the worker uncle of the waterworks who introduced the river water or groundwater into the factory, put the water in the sedimentation tank, added the medicine for disinfection and sterilization, and removed the harmful and impurities. In this way, many pipes were buried underground. These pipes are connected one by one. They are the result of the hard work of many workers in Waterworks day and night. When we turn on the tap, we should think of how many workers uncles hard work are contained in the water!
Students, we are the little masters of the country. We should form a good idea and good habit of saving water from childhood. No matter in or out of school, we should pay attention to water conservation to avoid waste of water resources, do not let the tap drip, try to make rational and recycling use of water resources. We should be a good child who saves water with practical actions.
