future?
How to say future?Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is a growth.
If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future holds for (= what will happen to) me.
When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all starts here.
Following I will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job. Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.”

Good evening, everyone. My name is WangHaili. I am an outgoing girl who likes reading and traveling. It’s really my great honor to stand here and give everyone a short speech.
People say, youth is fire which is ignited by passion. People say, youth is a chapter of the poem which is written by stories. The color of youth is bright and we make most use of our ardor to draw the scenes to the canvas of painting. But we may be confused and lose our direction in the youth time. Under this, youth slips away. Roman Roland says, life doesn’t issue return ticket and can never come back once sets out. So we should seize the short youth time and try our best to pursue our ideal. Do what should we do and let our youth without regret.
When we refer to ideal, we will realize the importance of ideal. Ideal is the beacon,. Without ideal, we will lose the firm direction. Without direction, we will lose our life. According to this, every one of us should establish our own ideal .so that we have the direction of straggle to the future. Tolstoy tells us, we should have the life objective from the whole life to the second. So we should cherish every moment and form our systematic objective. Youth is the prime time. We have strong body and energy and can sense the meaning of life under the guide of ideal.

i wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team. thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on. it’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: 20xx olympic games. now, the dream came true. as an athlete of china, i’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland.
i’m so proud of being one of the best players in the world. but could you believe i had been a lazy girl when i was in junior high. i’m not kidding! at that time, running was my last favorite. i really don’t know how to describe the first time i was on the track. it was horrible. when i started to run, i was simply out of breath. and while i touched the finishing line, i really didn’t know if i was still alive. it’s so funny, huh? but it’s true, i did.
well, something happened and changed the situation. we won the right of holding the olympic games in 20xx. after that, sports became a kind of game in campus. and there are many sports clubs in school. one day someone asked me:“are you gonna try one of those?”first i felt so wired.
“try to get into sports clubs? are you kidding?” i said. and she goes: “why not it’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” so i did tried one and i was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering. that is a fantastic sport! you need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass. it’s wasn’t popular in china at first. but when we heard it might become a new event in 20xx, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first champion of orienteering in the world. when we practiced, there were a lot of troubles. you know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart. in some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems. and we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower. so we can run faster, go higher and be stronger. that is what we say—olympic spirit.
now the dream came true. i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games. it’s the olympic games that make us together. we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports. we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.

as we know, you have to learn how to fly much more independently instead of under your parents’ considerate protection when you get into college, which also means you will come across enormous questions that should be solved by yourself. from my point of view, those main problems can fall into three parts.
first of all, the complicated relationship. for one thing, you have to know how cultural differences function in your relationship and respect them. in addition, college students spend less time studying together owing to different courses’ choosing, which requires us to devote more energy to building relationship. for the other thing, it is also vital to communicate with your parents often by using mobile phones or other tools.

Just make to it the finals, they had to get past 60 others speaking on “The impact of globalization on traditional Chinese values”。 That was at the semi-final on April 8-9. What will Chinese college students think about the impact? Each contestant had his own take on the subject. Xia summed up globalization by saying: “It’s just controversial and hard to say whether it is good or bad.” Xia took the old wall of his city, Nanjing, as a metaphor. He spoke about the conflict over whether to protect the old walls or tear them down to represent the conflict of ideas. He suggested that people protect the wall as a valuable relic while tearing down the “intangible walls” of their minds that prevent communication. While some other students are more focusing on the impact of globalization on family relations, attitudes towards love, and job-hunting.
Over the past 10 years, the national English speaking competition has given contestants a chance to speak on a variety of topics closely related to their lives. Chinese students become more open-minded and receive various ideas and thinking over the decade. Diversity becomes more obvious on campus, students have more opportunities to express and show themselves. It’s not an easy task for the contestants to win through the fierce competition. Owning to their passion, hard work and persistence, they finally succeeded in the contest.
Liu Xin, the first champion of the national contest, is now an anchorperson of CCTV-9. Recalling the passion of study on campus, she said: “When you want to express your idea by a foreign language without finding a right way, you’re really upset. Then you have to encourage yourself, and after a long term of bitterness, suddenly you find you get the right way with joy.” With the champion title in 21st Century Cup, Liu attended the International Public Speaking competition in London in May 1996 afterward and got the first prize historically.
The winner in 20xx surprised the audience, since she came from accounting major instead of English major. Gu Qiubei, then 22 years old, was a senior in Shanghai Foreign Studies University. While being asked whether she had some good methods to learn English, she said: “Learn English with passion and enthusiasm.” Attracted by the greatness of English language, Gu even changed her major from accounting to English in her postgraduate study. The most important issue in English learning process she pointed out is personal interests. Only people interested in English benefit a lot from the learning methods and those with passion will finally achieve their dreams.
When chief of global media giant Viacom Sumner Redstone gave a speech in Tsinghua University on his autobiography A Passion to Win, he was asked what made him to restart his career at the age of 60, the 81-year-old media tycoon said: “Firstly, there’s a self-driving force in my deep heart, which keeps my passion to succeed and surpass others; secondly, I don’t think I’m too old to leave work, actually I love my work very much.”
Some of the contestants have achieved their dreams as Redstone; still others are on the way to their dream. With a passion to win, you will overcome obstacles and succeed at the end.
I’m studying in a city that’s famous for its walls. People who visit my city are amazed at the imposing sight of its walls, especially when silhouetted against the setting sun with gold, shining streaks. The old, cracked bricks are covered with lichens and the walls are weather-beaten guards standing still for centuries.
Our ancestors liked to build walls. They built walls in Beijing, Xi’an, Nanjing and many other cities, and they built the Great Wall, which snakes across half our country. They built walls to protect against enemies and evil spirits. This tradition has survived to this day: we still have many parks and schools walled off from the public.
For a long time, walls were one of the most natural things in the world to me.
My perceptions, however, changed after I made a hiking trip to the eastern suburbs of my city. My classmates and I were walking with some foreign students. As we walked out of the city, we found ourselves flanked by tall trees, which formed a wide canopy above our heads. Suddenly one foreign student asked me, “Where is the entrance to the eastern suburbs?”
“We’re already in the eastern suburbs,” I replied. He seemed taken aback, “I thought you Chinese had walls for everything.” His remark set off a heated debate. At one point, he likened our walled cities to “jails”, while I insisted that the eastern suburbs were one of the many places in China that had no walls.
That debate had no winners, but I did learn a lot from this student. For instance, he told me that some major universities like Oxford and Cambridge were not surrounded by walls. I have to admit that we do have many walls in China, and as we develop our country, we must look carefully at them and decide whether they are physical or intangible. We will keep some walls but tear down those that impede our development.
Let me give another example.
A year ago, when I was working on a term paper, I needed a book on business law and found a copy in the law school library. However, the librarian coldly rejected my request to borrow it, saying, “You can’t borrow this book, you’re not a student here.” In the end, I had to spend 200 yuan to buy a copy. Meanwhile, the copy in the law school gathered dust on the shelf.
At the beginning of this semester, I heard that my university had started to think of unifying its libraries and linking them to libraries at other universities, so my experience wouldn’t be repeated. Barriers would be replaced by bridges. An inter-library loan system would give us access to books from any library. With globalization and China integrated into the world, I believe many of these intangible walls will be knocked down.
I know that globalization is a controversial issue, and it is hard to say whether it is good or bad. But one thing is for sure: it draws our attention to China’s tangible and intangible walls and forces us to examine their role in the modern world.
And how about the ancient walls of mine and other cities? Should we tear them down? Definitely not. My city, like Beijing and other cities, is actually making a great effort to preserve the walls. These walls attract historians, archaeologists, and many schoolchildren who are trying to study our history and cultural heritage. Walls have become bridges to our past and to the rest of the world. If the ancient builders of these walls were still alive today, they would be proud to see such great changes in the role of their walls. They are now bridges that link East and West, South and North, and all countries of the world. Our cultural heritage will survive globalization.

A Brother Like That A Brother Like That A friend of mine named Paul received an automobile from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. "Is this your car, Mister?"
he said. Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas."
The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing? Boy, I wish . . ."
He hesitated. Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels. "I wish,"
the boy went on, "That I could be a brother like that."
Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my car?"
"Oh yes, Id love that."
After a short ride, the boy turned with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house?"
Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?"
the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sathim down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. "There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn’t cost him a cent. And some day Im gonna give you one just like it . . . then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that Ive been trying to tell you about."
Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride. That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jesus meant when he said: "It is more blessed to give . . . "

An old man fishing in the river, a child came to see him fishing, skilled people, so not long to catch a full basket of fish, the old man is a lovely child, take the whole basket of fish to him, the child shook his head, the man asked in surprise: "why don't you?" the little boy answer: "I want your fishing rod." the old man asked: "what are you doing fishing?" he said: "this fish did not take long to finish, if I have a fishing rod, I can catch on, life could not finish eating."
I think you will say: what a clever kid. If he was wrong, as long as the fishing rod, that he can not eat a fish. Because he did not understand the skills of fishing, fishing rod is light there is no use, because the fishing was not important "fishing rod" and "fishing technology."
There are too many people think they have a life of the rod, and no fear in the rain, this will inevitably fall on the muddy ground. As the kids see the elderly, think that as long as the poles will not eat fish, the staff look like the boss, as long as they sit in the Office, there are rolled into the financing.

In today's fast-paced world and with the booming economy, stress is our constant companion. We may face stress from our jobs, families, peers, etc. Though stress adds flavor and challenge to life, too much stress can seriously affect people's physical and mental well-being, so it is necessary to handle stress properly.
When it comes to reducing stress, people vary in their ways. Some people talk with someone, perhaps a friend or a family member, about their anxieties and worries. Others allow themselves a mental “get-away”: a quiet country scene painted mentally can pert them from the tension of a stressful situation to a more relaxing frame of mind. There are also people who create a sense of peace by reading a good book.
The effective way to relieve stress for me is different from those mentioned above. I have several relaxation techniques. For examples, when stress occurs, I would take a deep breath and exhale and if possible, I would take a warm bath. They prove to be very helpful. They help me to calm down my mind and improve my response.

As is shown in the graph, China's food distribution has taken great changes from 1960's to 1990's According to this statistics of cereals, vegetable, meat, and fruits, the number of those who eat rice, flour or vegetable has greatly decreased in the past four decades.
In contrast of this the number of those who eat oil or meat has sharply increased.
From such dietary changes, we can perceive the rapid improvement of our people' s living standard.
Why does this improvement occur? The direct reason is the fact that the Chinese people have attached much importance to their health care.
Nationally, China's economic growth is booming, and more people are getting richer.
Individually, everyone's consumption of food is increasingly varied.
In particular, most of people are reluctant to eat much vegetable, but much meat and oil in their diets.
Here are some things you need to know about table manners when you visit Japan.
First of all,you shou In my view, the changes of China's dietary distribution seem to be both positive and negative.
The positive aspect is that China' s economical growth has given rise to the higher level of dietary standard, with most of people living rich and happy.
But the negative aspect is that, I'm afraid, less eating vegetable will lead to poorer health, such as lacking vitamin nutrients in one's body.
Therefore, we think it necessary for the Chinese to be aware of the balanced diets: Lots of vegetable and meat, which may gain us healthier bodies in the new

I believe it is in my nature to dance by virtue of the beat of my heart, the pulse of my blood and the music in my mind. So I dance daily.
The seldom-used dining room of my house is now an often-used ballroom — anopen space with a hardwood floor, stereo, and a disco ball. The CD-changer hassix discs at the ready: waltz, swing, country, rock-and-roll, salsa, andtango.
Each morning when I walk through the house on the way to make coffee, Iturn on the music, hit the "shuffle" button, and it's Dance Time! I dance aloneto whatever is playing. It's a form of existential aerobics, a movingmeditation.
Tango is a recent enthusiasm. It's a complex and difficult dance, so I'm upto three lessons a week, three nights out dancing, and I'm off to Buenos Airesfor three months of immersion in tango culture.
The first time I went tango dancing I was too intimidated to get out on thefloor. I remembered another time I had stayed on the sidelines, when the dancingbegan after a village wedding on the Greek island of Crete. The fancy footworkconfused me. "Don't make a fool of yourself," I thought. "Just watch."
Reading my mind, an older woman dropped out of the dance, sat down besideme, and said, "If you join the dancing, you will feel foolish. If you do not,you will also feel foolish. So, why not dance?"
And, she said she had a secret for me. She whispered, "If you do not dance,we will know you are a fool. But if you dance, we will think well of you fortrying."
Recalling her wise words, I took up the challenge of tango.
A friend asked me if my tango-mania wasn't a little ambitious. "Tango? Atyour age? You must be out of your mind!"
On the contrary: It's a deeply pondered decision. My passion for tangodisguises a fearfulness. I fear the shrinking of life that goes with aging. Ifear the boredom that comes with not learning and not taking chances. I fear thedying that goes on inside you when you leave the game of life to wait in thefinal checkout line.
I seek the sharp, scary pleasure that comes from beginning something new —that calls on all my resources and challenges my mind, my body, and my spirit, all at once.
My goal now is to dance all the dances as long as I can, and then to sitdown contented after the last elegant tango some sweet night and pass on becausethere wasn't another dance left in me.
So, when people say, "Tango? At your age? Have lost your mind?" I answer,"No, and I don't intend to."

When you are a kid, you get asked this one particular question a lot, it really gets kind of annoying. What do you want to be when you grow up? Now, adults are hoping for answers like, I want to be an astronaut or I want to be a neurosurgeon, you’re adults in your imaginations.
Kids, they’re most likely to answer with pro-skateboarder, surfer or minecraft player. I asked my little brother, and he said, seriously dude, I’m 10, I have no idea, probably a pro-skier, let’s go get some ice cream.
See, us kids are going to answer something we’re stoked on, what we think is cool, what we have experience with, and that’s typically the opposite of what adults want to hear.
But if you ask a little kid, sometimes you’ll get the best answer, something so simple, so obvious and really profound. When I grow up, I want to be happy.
For me, when I grow up, I want to continue to be happy like I am now. I’m stoked to be here at TedEx, I mean, I’ve been watching Ted videos for as long as I can remember, but I never thought I’d make it on the stage here so soon. I mean, I just became a teenager, and like most teenage boys, I spend most of my time wondering, how did my room get so messy all on its own.
Did I take a shower today? And the most perplexing of all, how do I get girls to like me? Neurosciences say that the teenage brain is pretty weird, our prefrontal cortex is underdeveloped, but we actually have more neurons than adults, which is why we can be so creative, and impulsive and moody and get bummed out.
But what bums me out is to know that, a lot of kids today are just wishing to be happy, to be healthy, to be safe, not bullied, and be loved for who they are. So it seems to me when adults say, what do you want to be when you grow up? They just assume that you’ll automatically be happy and healthy.
Well, maybe that’s not the case, go to school, go to college, get a job, get married, boom, then you’ll be happy, right? You don’t seem to make learning how to be happy and healthy a priority in our schools, it’s separate from schools. And for some kids, it doesn’t exists at all? But what if we didn’t make it separate? What if we based education on the study and practice of being happy and healthy, because that’s what it is, a practice, and a simple practice at that?
Education is important, but why is being happy and healthy not considered education, I just don’t get it. So I’ve been studying the science of being happy and healthy. It really comes down to practicing these eight things. Exercise, diet and nutrition, time in nature, contribution, service to others, relationships, recreation, relaxation and stress management, and religious or spiritual involvement, yes, got that one.
So these eight things come from Dr. Roger Walsh, he calls them Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes or TLCs for short. He is a scientist that studies how to be happy and healthy. In researching this talk, I got a chance to ask him a few questions like; do you think that our schools today are making these eight TLCs a priority? His response was no surprise, it was essentially no. But he did say that many people do try to get this kind of education outside of the traditional arena, through reading and practices such as meditation or yoga.
But what I thought was his best response was that, much of education is oriented for better or worse towards making a living rather than making a life.
In 20__, Sir Ken Robinson gave the most popular Ted talk of all time. Schools kill creativity. His message is that creativity is as important as literacy, and we should treat it with the same status.
A lot of parents watched those videos, some of those parents like mine counted it as one of the reasons they felt confident to pull their kids from traditional school to try something different. I realized I’m part of this small, but growing revolution of kids who are going about their education differently, and you know what? It freaks a lot of people out.
Even though I was only nine, when my parents pulled me out of the school system, I can still remember my mom being in tears when some of her friends told her she was crazy and it was a stupid idea.
Looking back, I’m thankful she didn’t cave to peer pressure, and I think she is too. So, out of the 200 million people that have watched Sir Ken Robinson’s talk, why aren’t there more kids like me out there?
Shane McConkey is my hero. I loved him because he was the world’s best skier. But then, one day I realized what I really loved about Shane, he was a hacker. Not a computer hacker, he hacked skiing. His creativity and inventions made skiing what it is today, and why I love to ski. A lot of people think of hackers as geeky computer nerds who live in their parent’s basement and spread computer viruses, but I don’t see it that way.

Hello, everybody! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, everybody. All right, everybody go ahead and have a seat. How is everybody doing today? (Applause.) How about Tim Spicer? (Applause.) I am here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. And we’ve got students tuning in from all across America, from kindergarten through 12th grade. And I am just so glad that all could join us today. And I want to thank Wakefield for being such an outstanding host. Give yourselves a big round of applause. (Applause.)I know that for many of you, today is the first day of school. And for those of you in kindergarten, or starting middle or high school, it’s your first day in a new school, so it’s understandable if you’re a little nervous. I imagine there are some seniors out there who are feeling pretty good right now -- (applause) -- with just one more year to go. And no matter what grade you’re in, some of you are probably wishing it were still summer and you could’ve stayed in bed just a little bit longer this morning.I know that feeling. When I was young, my family lived overseas. I lived in Indonesia for a few years. And my mother, she didn’t have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school, but she thought it was important for me to keep up with an American education. So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself, Monday through Friday. But because she had to go to work, the only time she could do it was at 4:30 in the , as you might imagine, I wasn’t too happy about getting up that early. And a lot of times, I’d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I’d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and she’d say, "This is no picnic for me either, buster." (Laughter.)So I know that some of you are still adjusting to being back at school. But I’m here today because I have something important to discuss with you. I’m here because I want to talk with you about your education and what’s expected of all of you in this new school at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, the best schools in the world -- and none of it will make a difference, none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities, unless you show up to those schools, unless you pay attention to those teachers, unless you listen to your parents and grandparents and other adults and put in the hard work it takes to succeed. That’s what I want to focus on today: the responsibility each of you has for your education.I want to start with the responsibility you have to yourself. Every single one of you has something that you’re good at. Every single one of you has something to offer. And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is. That’s the opportunity an education can provide.

Hello, everybody !it is my great honor to be here to share my idea with you .Today,I will talk something about DREAM——A word that has changed the world .
“What do you think is the word that has really changed our world ”
When I was asked about this question for the first time ,without thinking it too much ,a word flash into my mind ——DREAM ,D-R-E-A-M.People more or less dream about different things ,to be a teacher ,a doctor ,a scientist ,a businessman and so on .All these people who have dreams should be respected ,because Dreams make the world go around .We grow great by our dreams. All big men are great dreamers in their youth.Everyone has a dream ,and everything starts as one’s daydream.
Martin Luther king had a dream. He desired for a future where blacks and whites would coexist harmoniously as equals.By speaking the way he did,he educated,he inspired,he informed not just the people there, but people throughout America and unborn generations. He pushed forward the pace of American black society towards the racial equality .
Thomas Edison had a dream. He dreamed of a lamp that could be operated by electricity, began where he stood to put his dream into action, and despite more than ten thousand failures,he stood by that dream until he made it a physical reality! And today, his dream lights up the world at night.
Walt Disney had a dream. This,in itself, wasn't unusual -- he was always dreaming. He dreamed of making the first animated feature film, and of building an amusement park that parents could enjoy right along with their kids.Walt Disney empowered his dream and today,Disneyland,Disney world and Disney theme parks attract around the world thrill millions of visitors each and every year.
John F.kennedy had a dream. He wanted to land a man on the moon and return him safely to earth so as to restore faith in the American way of life.John F.kennedy empowered his dream and 8 years later Neil Armstrong stepped on the face of the moon. The moon landing certainly gave Americans new found confidence.
Dream --- A word that has changed the world Yes ,I would say so ,wouldn’t you
Youth is a special life relay station ,the growth with the worry ,the life feeling become aware happily with the dream ,collected a unique youth melody in here .
We decide. We choose. And as we decide and choose,so are our lives formed. In the end, forming our own destiny is what ambition is about. And most importantly ,You are the one you choose to be.
It is easy to waste our lives ,our days ,our minutes .It is easy to exist than living .So hold fast to your dreams,For if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird,That cannot fly.Hold fast to your dreams,For when dreams go,life is a barren field,Frozen with snow.

Save something else less important. Some students on the tap, foot, scouring, some students a drink of water, but the mouth facing the faucet to drink tap water, sound of rushing water, and does not feel bad. Water line really worth it? Water conservation is really unimportant? Not the world's water 93% is salt water, not drink. Accounted for only 7% of fresh water, and drink water only accounts for eight per cent of zero. Billion people around the world, we depend on it accounted for only 0.8% drinking fresh water, watching, water and more valuable ah! Although there are three liters of water per person per day will be able to maintain life, but in fact of urban residents per person per day cooking, washing, washing vegetables ... ... everything can not do without water, water up to several hundred liters. In addition, the farming and industrial production can not do without water. People can live several days without eating a few days without water can not. Can not afford to humanity is to survive away from water, showing how important it is to save water.
Water conservation "is not limited to water, but not let water. In fact, people save water is a reasonable use of water, efficient use of water. Save water does not affect our quality of life. Many students like getting online very much. they think on the internet they can get some information, play some educational games and these games help them learn a lot. they can also make fris online.
But there is also something bad getting online. It takes students too much time, so they do worse in their lessons. Sping too much time online is also bad for their health. I don't think they should sp too much time getting online. I think they should put their hearts into their studies.

Helloeveryone! My name is Ren Qingwen. I am 8years old. I like drawing, reading, andtelling stories. Today I am telling you a story- The missing forest
Once upon atime, there was a kingdom of forest. Everyone lived there happily. Some werehunting, some were making clothes, and some were catching fishes. Life there waswonderful.
There was alaw in this kingdom -nobody could cut down trees. Once the prince was chasing arabbit and he kicked down three little trees by accident. The king knew it andhe let the guards hit the prince thirty times to punish him.
The king wasvery old. Before he dead, he told the prince his last words,” I am very old now. The forest is our last hope. You willbe the new king. You couldn’t change the law, or a lot of monsters will come! Rememberit my son!”
And shortlyafterwards, the prince became the new king. And the country became stronger andstronger. He was a good king but he still grudged that law!
Oneday, a guest came to the kingdom. He showed the king
a drawing. There were houses and buildings on the picture. The king was vey excited. Andhe decided to listen to that man. He commanded to cut down all the trees. Andhe created a new world! Everyone tried to stop him, but it didn’t work.
Trees werecutting down, animals were running away. Tall buildings were built! At thebeginning, people liked the new city, but later something bad happened. All kinds of monsters showed up: rainmonster, hot monster, wind monster and sand monster. People felt sick with theenvironment, because the new citybrought a lot of pollution. People missed the forest, the animals and thelovely city they used to live in. But they were not able to change it at all. They became homeless and had to abandon their city. Watchedthe image lying before him, the king sank into the seat.
Ladies andgentlemen, from this story we can see that we have to protect our home- theearth, we have to protect the trees, the rivers, the animals and the air, orsomething terrible must happen to us!
It is the onlyearth we got!
That’s all! Thankyou!

With the improvement of our living standard, more and more people canafford a car。 As a result, our roads are more often than not crammed with cars。However, with more and more waste gas being discharged by the cars, the problemof air pollution bees even more serious。 So nowadays we advocate to lead alow-carbon life。
My suggestion is we should ride bikes more often instead of driving cars。Byriding a bike, we can not only exercise our body but also protect ourenvironment。 Why not have a try, my dear friends?

Leo Tolstoy once said, everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.
He is right. We always have great plans and dreams in our minds… too ready to achieve something grand that changes the world or benefits all of mankind .For example; we hate pollution and have made up our minds to find new energy sources that keep the environment clean. Yet we still litter on the ground. We complain about traffic jams, so we plan to build more highways to solve the problem, but it never occurs to us that our failure to follow traffic regulations is the leading cause of this situation. We are so concerned that the violence in the media has a bad impact on our children, we urge the government to set laws to protect them. But, do we, as adults, set a good example for our kids? We use nasty words and even spit on the ground in front of them, I dare to say, we harm more!
In my opinion, before we decide to change the world, we had better change ourselves first. As ordinary individuals, we do not have the power to change the world. But we can change our habit of littering, spitting, cussing, we can respect the environment around us, we must act as good models for our kids.
If each of us does all of these little things, all of us, millions and millions of individuals together, together we will be strong …strong enough to change our world!
So please, the next time you do something, think how your actions influence

Life is a box of chocolate, you never know what you will get. forrest gumpmade no decision by and for himself but he acplished great success with hisstrong will in the process. the process is not the road itself but the attitudesand feelings, the caution, courage and persistance we have as we encounter newexperience and unexpected obstacles. take myself as an example,i changed mymajor when i became a postgraduate. after the choice, days have been harsh forme.i cannot understand the new lessons at all. for they are closely related tomathmatics which i learned nothing about before. however wuth the belief thatthis is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself, ipersisted. i asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life.gradually i could understand some parts and even found mathsinteresting.moreover,i learned to act instead of plaining. in retrospect, thechoice left no trace in my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the pastfour months bees an unforgetable experience in my life.
No matter what the choice is,enjoy the process. in the process, yourpotential will be inspired and new discoveries, improvement and progress will eto you. these are the most beautiful sceneries and only on the way can you seeit.these make your life colorful.
There is no need and i donnot want to judge whether it right or wrong forme to be here, but i congratulate to myself for i gain and enjoy this fantasticexperience. so my dear friends, never worry about your choice and enjoy theprocess. i am sure you will get something new and intersting tonight after youchose to e here.
Thank you!

Ladies and Gentlemen: My topic is Honesty. As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story. /chuzhong/chusan/ 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure. In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome. When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error. Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character. Thank you.

As a popular saying goes, "Time is money." But does time definitely meanmoney? I don't think so. First of all, time is more precious than money. Whenmoney is spent, you can earn it back if you want to. However, when time is gone,it will never come back. To some extent, time is priceless. Second, not all timecan be turned into money in the end. Some persons are idling all the time. Theirtime is just for wasting, not for earning money. They will end in nothing atlast. So be sure to remember that time can be turned into money only with hardwork involved in it.

Failure is a common thing in our daily life. There are times when we failto do satisfactory work. In short, failures happen naturally and almost everyonehas such experience.
However, there are different attitudes toward failure. Some people loseconfidence in failure. Some people dont take failure seriously and they just letit be, while some others learn much from failure, and therefore see the light ofhope through failure.
In my opinion, what really counts is not failure itself, but what we thinkof failure and do after failure. As long as we dont give up and believe inourselves, and in the meantime learn something from failure, well certainly makeour marks in this world in the end.

Celtic believed that the sun god helped them grow crops. But each year thesun god is attacked by an evil force called Samhain and spent six months incaptivity. Samhain, and two other titles, "Lord of Dead" and "Prince ofDarkness", came to Celtic land with cold and dark winters.
The celts are very afraid of the night of October 31, because they feellike there's a bunch of evil souls lurking everywhere. They set fire to theirhome to let evil spirits leave their homes. (the last untranslated paragraph wasthat the flames could frighten the ghost away.) They believed Samhain had calledthe dead, and they believed that Samhain would turn the dead into somethingelse, like a cat. The celts will be disguising their evil spirits with terribledisguises. (this is the prototype for Halloween.)
Then Rome took over the Celtic lands and put the Roman holiday togetherwith the Celtic Samhain festival on October 31, and it was now Halloween.

Homemade Ship
Hans Andersen, a life-long fisherman, had a dream. He wanted to sail around the world. And he did it. He got several sponsors who subsidized his trip. He bought a beautiful 40-foot yacht, with all the latest technical and safety gear, and had a pleasant voyage. Well, except for almost sinking while going around the tips of South America and Africa.
The voyage went so smoothly that, looking back on it, he felt it was too easy. He needed a new challenge. He decided to build his own boat. But that was nothing new. Several people had built their own boats and sailed them around the world. No, he needed a unique boat. Watching TV commercials one day, he got it—ice cream sticks! He would be the first man to sail around the world in a boat built exclusively of ice cream sticks.
He put out the word. Within three years, school children from all over Holland had sent Hans 15 million ice cream sticks. He used these sticks to build a 45-foot replica of a Viking ship. After all the sticks were glued together, Hans took his new boat out to sea on a one-week voyage. “It’s magnificent, and totally sea-worthy,” he proclaimed.
He plans to set sail in early 20xx with a crew of two. He will sail across the Atlantic to Canada, and then down to Florida and through the Panama Canal. Then he’ll travel to Los Angeles, Honolulu, Tokyo, around the tip of Africa, and back to Holland. “If this trip succeeds,” he joked, “my next goal will be to build a plane out of ice cream sticks and fly it around the world!”

Winter comes quietly.
Winter is pure. Winter comes, the world becomes white, white flawless, white cedar serene shakedown is on the earth, as if for the carpet of the earthcovered with a layer of silver. Embossed on the pine covered with white snow, just like loving mother gently holding the children of their own. Under the snowthere were a little green pine needles, to the white world added a little notthe same color.
Winter is quiet. White world in addition to white or white, as if a painterof a picture, a picture of white. In this white world, cute little animals arehiding at home sleeping; Lively children are hiding at home and it's warm woli,.Except for the howl of the north between white singing, traveling, almost no onein the white world.
Although winter tranquility, but sometimes I still full of laughter. Travelbetween the children in the snow. They work together to make a snowman together, they help each other figure moved north wind; Together they skipping a snowballfight, they smile melting snow; Together they sing happily, they the cheerfulsinging spread to every corner...
A unique in winter season, although it did not the vitality of spring, butmore than a pure spring; Although it does not have summer bustling, but morethan a quiet summer; Although it has no charming autumn, but a special joy morethan autumn.
In winter, is a unique season; Is a charming season!

Innovation, one we are familiar with the word .In particular, this is an era of
rapid development , the word always hit our eardrums . However , innovation and its rich connotation, is that many people do their assiduous life , it may not be able to fully understand.Friend , do you know innovation ?
Innovation is actually a dream.
Ancient China had a man ,burdened wings made of paper , hesitate to jump as high cliff , hoping to fly like a bird in the clear sky . Jumped in pieces at the moment whether
he could vaguely see the blue sky in the freedom of flying airplanes?
Britain has a writer, works in his lifetime , enjoy fantasy, the hot air balloon , submarine ,telegraph ahead of dozens , or even hundreds of years into our lives.
Verne pen down at the moment ,whether he had previously seen the distant future ? Dreams marked rich imagination , imagination as a source of innovation . Innovative transformation from dream to dream is the root, watered by the dream . Einstein never lost innocence like blowing soap bubbles in the air offerings of the earth, constantly shattered and constantly rising .
Innovation requires suspicion and criticism .Suspected to be the seeds of innovation , critical innovation growth. Errors found in doubt , correct the error in the criticism , innovation to complete.
However, skepticism , criticism of courage, people pay the price too much. The spring of 1543 , people shocked , a person, he actually claimed that the earth revolves around the sun .
God, ah ! Let this person Budehaosi . People wanton laugh ,curse. Finally ,the curse come true , the day after 1978 , in the beautiful Rome Campo de 'Fiori, the religiously defended and developed the center of the sun is high in the doctrine of Bruno tied to the cross. A torch toward him, and sent waves smell of burnt flesh . The smell of death in the wandering . Suddenly, a voice from that distorted body burst out : "Fire does not make me conquer the future of the world will know me , and know my worth ."
Yes, the fights did not conquer
him, and that the flames of anger , and that the destruction of the flame , only
to hang in the pseudo- truth face mask burning. Filled in the
Campo de 'Fiori reluctant to disperse the ashes , it has to tell us: innovation
, marching with his life proved suspicion and criticism , will eventually break
the traditional shackles and have eternal life.
Innovation requires profound .
We all know that in the bath
Archimedes discovered the law of buoyancy , the achievements of science in the
history of a brother's wife. But we still
remember Cao Chong said the elephant story ? Lovely children do not consciously use the law of
buoyancy . However, the latter only as a
bedtime story being circulated in the children's pillow , the former has given
birth to one of the basic principles of physics .
Sometimes, innovation is not
difficult , can not say what time the spark of an idea flashed , innovation came
to hand. Sparks can not last long , but
innovation requires eternity. So innovation requires deep
thinking , the pursuit of the essence of things, require us to dig further it
has a sense of innovation .
However, mining is not the most difficult , the most difficult is that conscious generation. You must swam , played some water, you will feel the pressure over the water , but you can say that you can create buoyancy do ? Even if you say , think of water as it came to be called ? I'm afraid not , right ? Is so many things in life , in your experiences, had to touch the edge of innovation , yet we do not have that concept , consciously innovative complete.
As college students, our knowledge is still poor , maybe we can not have a great number of specific innovations.
But we must nurture our sense of innovation . It contains many elements of consciousness .
First, we must learn to dream , learn not reality clogging our innocence, from time to time to make a childhood dream to do , think about Mars fly romantic , think about the beauty of living in outer space . Do not just stare at the villa , sports car, doing physical slaves. Then, let us learn to doubt and criticism . Do not intimidated by the teacher that majestic face , do not think that all printed in lead type stuff is the truth. Kundera said: " a thinking human beings , God laughs ." Believe in yourself, doubts persist , the courage to criticize , fear of authority , the hero character . Again, let us look deep , steady light, it may look youthful rhythm depressed ,thinking something more to study some knowledge , do not have a strange idea, anunheard of discovery to pretend happy, but to practice Shique helpless. Finally, and most important , is to develop their own sense of innovation, especially for professionals in the sensitivity of new things . Roentgen because one is a photographic negatives and realized the existence of X-rays , and ultimately won the first Nobel Prize , Newton as a falling apple and discovered gravity . They professional
acumen is that we really want to master in learning hand knowledge.Recognizing innovation . "Recognize " is a perception, understand the process of representation ; and " knowledge" is an understanding of the process of exploring its essential meaning . Recognizing innovation, we not only want to"recognize ", but it is important to " know ."
