　　unexpectedly，the first lesson i taught turned out a lesson for me. the moment i stepped into the shabby classroom. i was touched by the loud, respectful voices in unison. 'good morning teacher !' instead of fooling around, the children were thirsty for knowledge and efficient in absorbing everything i was able to give them. this made me despise myself for i hadn't even prepared for the class. during the break. i leaned over the squeaky desk, chatting with a sweaty boy in the front row. "without air-conditioning, it's really hot here. are you tired?" not at all. said he. shaking his head. it's fine here. my dad builds asphalt roads. that is really tiring and hot.

　　as summer advanced. my enthusiasm as a teacher grew. i prepared my lesson carefully and even used some methods my teachers used. i organized many group activities to give the kids fun. strangely enough the heat was also becoming less and less unbearable. soon, my one-month volunnteer came to an end. when i was leaving my last class, i turned back and saw smiling faces and waving hands. never before had i ever had such a feeling of sadness. which was, nevertheless, mixed with a sense of enrichment, fulfillment and happiness. i was paid for my work, amply paid, not in terms of money, but something more valuable.

　　my english was improved, i was able to teach it, although not very professional. i learned about the grassroots-level society. inside myself a heart is growing. a heart that not only beats for myself. but cares for others as well. the volunteer work gave me a precious little chance of saying thanks. to people like the little boy's father who construct highways and undergrounds, build up modern skyscrapers, and make our cities more and more beautiful. to help the children with their english was all i could do at present to show my gratitude to these unsung heroes. the world may not have been fair to them. so privileged and blessed people like me make their life better. whatever i do for them, however, i know it can't be compared with what they have done to improve the quality of life in our cities. ladies and gentlemen. now i realize that voluntary shouldn't be just a one-time personal experience. it should be a lifetime activity of everybody. many of us are now offering assistance to the needy and to each other and our efforts have indeed made a difference schooling,---- or caring for the elderly in nursing homes, and helping out in 20xx beijing olympics, will not only contribute to the harmony of the world but elevate ourselves as well. emerson once said, "it's one of the most beautiful compensations of this life no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself" he was right. i hear that my university is going to organize another voluntary teaching program this summer. this time i won't be dragged in. i will volunteer. thank you !

Sometimes， marks more than ten or less than one or two in our exams comparing with others mean not everything. The success or failure in exams will be influenced by experience on the spot and the examinee’s health etc. Once in a while one cannot fail in exams. ＂ Success or failure is common sense for military. ＂ I think everyone is familiar with the famous saying. 　　As a matter of fact， ＂high marks＂ and ＂ability＂ are not unified. Some time ago， a new phrase ＂ high marks but poor competence＂ came into being. Once I happened to meet such a teacher as this .It is said that the teacher just graduated from a far-famed key university. But his teaching result is much less than that of the one who just graduated from a not-well-renowned college. When lecturing， the teacher only repeated what the text-books says， which was very dull so the his students’ interest in learning was not aroused. His teaching was short of unity of teaching and learning. At present there is a fact that we know a few brilliant and top college graduates are not qualified for their posts. The reason for it may be lack of the ability to combine knowledge learnt from books with pragmatics in their work. Students of this kind will be successful in every exam but they will be able to use freely their knowledge in their posts. Don’t you think it waste training such persons for the country？

　　To sum up from the above， I can say marks are not absolutely authoritative for some. If we neglect training and developing the students’ ability and competence and if we only seek for the high marks， we will be absolutely wrong. We should take an objective attitude towards the marks. Neither should we neglect them nor should we overvalue them like a God.

　　事實上，“高分”與“能力”往往是不統(tǒng)一的。前段時間，社會上出現了一個新詞：“高分低能”。筆者就曾經碰見這樣一位教師，據說他畢業(yè)于某赫赫有名的重點大學，但從教學效果上講，卻遠遠遜色于一些非高等學府畢業(yè)的老師。其授課只是照本宣讀而已，枯燥乏味，缺乏一種教與學之間的協(xié)調功能。根本不能引起聽課同學的興趣，目前不少大中專院校的高材生畢業(yè)后不能勝任他們的工作，原因就在于缺少將書本中的知識運用到實際工作中去的能力。這種人，盡管在學校中每每能考出高分，可無法在工作崗位上靈活白如地運用自己所學到的知識。國家培養(yǎng)出這樣的“人材”，不也是一種浪費嗎？

　　friendship is to our life what salt is to dasher. when you are happy friendship is just like adding flowers on the brocade; when you are sad friendship is a dose of consolation; if you are in trouble friends will surround you and remove the barriers for you; if you have a hard nut to crack you can turn to friends for help.

　　every one need friends and if you fail to make friends you should examine yourself and see if there is something wrong with your personality. maybe you have social faults such snobbishness talkativeness and using slang etc. all of that will drive your new acquaintances. whatever your social faults may be look at them honestly and make real effort to correct them.

　　however what’s actual difficult is that friendship is easier made than kept.there are several important elements necessary to maintain a good friendship.
