Necessity of lifelong learning
Dear Mr. Li, dear my schoolmates, good morning!
Entrusted by the first group of schoolmates, the topic of my speech is Necessity for lifelong learning.
About lifelong learning, there is the famous proverb in Chinese: never too old to learn. Confucius, the famous educator in ancient China, also said: if I learn the Classical literature "Yi" from the age of 50, I would never make so many mistakes.
To sum up, Necessity of lifelong learning is mainly based on the following reasons:
First of all, the knowledge of modern society changes so quickly, if not to learn new knowledge in time you will soon fall behind the times. For example, using the mobile Internet technology, we can using a mobile phone to book a taxi, pay various fees, buy all kinds of goods etc. if a person may not grasp the knowledge, especially senior people ,they will not use the convenience brought by Internet.
Secondly, diligent in thinking can effectively prevent the occurrence of Alzheimer's disease. This conclusion has been verified in medicine.
Finally, a person who maintains the habit of lifelong
learning, can have a stronger advantage in occupation choice. This is not only good for the person, but also for the country and the society.
Some people complain that, they have too much work and have no time to read a book usually. But In fact lifelong learning is not only reading or having a class, we can browse the web, read e-books, receiving distance courses through the Internet conveniently. We can learn not only knowledge, but also skills.
Age cannot be a barrier to our lifelong learning. Chu
Shijian, once the king of China's tobacco industry, had
suffered a great setback before retirement. He was even put into prison. But at the age of 75, he began to study orange planting technology seriously, and finally have a huge success in this area ten years late. Harland Sandoz of America began learning the fast-food lethal at his age of 83. When he was 88 years old, his fast food chain often Kentucky had distributed each corner of the world.
Therefore, lifelong learning is never too late to start, let's start our plan today.
Thank you.

Dear teachers and students
hello everyone!
Today, the topic of my speech is "happy learning, happy growth"!
We often hear the saying, "it's never too old to learn." Learning is a lifelong thing, especially for our students, our task is to learn. Let's think about it. Without learning, there would be no square Chinese characters that carry the long history of the Chinese nation, and there would be no invention of steam engine, electric lamp and telephone; Without learning, human beings will always live in the primitive society of ignorance and darkness, and also without the shoulders of the giant standing by the great scientist Newton; If there is no learning, there will be no today's advanced technology and our happy life.
Look at our current learning environment, spacious and bright classrooms, beautiful and quiet learning environment, all kinds of learning tools, all kinds of textbooks, dedicated teachers, and parents who carefully take care of our growth. What else are we unhappy about? Chinese and history lessons can let us experience the profound culture of our motherland, mathematics lessons can exercise our thinking, music lessons can fully display our singing voice, physical education lessons can healthy our physique, science lessons can let us know the mysteries of nature, and social classes can enjoy the customs and folk customs of the world - with continuous learning, our knowledge is becoming richer and richer, Our quality is constantly improving, and we are gradually becoming qualified citizens of the society.
Of course, we can only study seriously and carefully. Learning is happy for us. We should not regard learning as an errand and should not perfunctory it. Only those who want to learn will learn real knowledge and truly realize its happiness. Let's review the words of our beloved Premier Zhou: "it's never too old to learn." Students, let's study happily and grow happily. Let's learn seriously from today and experience real happiness in learning.
Thank you!

Dear teachers and students
hello everyone.
Today, the topic of my speech is "cherish time and love learning".
We often say that tomorrow will be better. Yes, tomorrow is beautiful, but a beautiful tomorrow will not fall from the sky. It depends on your wisdom, diligence and hard work today. Only today's efforts can get the beauty of tomorrow.
The ancients once wrote a "song of tomorrow": "tomorrow is tomorrow again, how many tomorrow is. I was born to wait for tomorrow, and everything is wasted." Tomorrow is limited for everyone. We should cherish time and love learning.
Students, learning is for future dedication, learning is for their own survival. To learn homework well, we must also learn to study, cultivate good learning habits and master scientific learning methods.
Therefore, learning first depends on "diligence". The great man said: "genius comes from diligence, intelligence comes from effort! The so-called" diligence "is to cherish time. Second, relying on "thinking", we can't learn from those who encourage others, let alone those who swallow them. "Thinking" means that learning should focus on science.
Students, please cherish time, cherish tomorrow and study hard. If we earnestly attend every class, do every homework, read every book and do everything well, we can get excellent results in the exam, we will not live up to the cultivation and expectations of our parents and teachers, and our life will be better tomorrow!
My speech is over!
Thank you!

Dear teachers and students
How do you do! The theme of my speech today is "learning for yourself".
We often hear the saying, "it's never too old to learn." Learning is a lifelong thing, especially for our students, our task is to learn.
Perhaps some students are silently thinking about learning. Alas, what I fear most all day is learning. Learning is very boring and boring. It is a painful thing, let alone happy. But if we study hard and carefully, learning is also happy for us. We should not regard learning as an errand and should not perfunctory it. Only those who want to learn will learn real knowledge and truly realize its happiness.
Students, think about who you study for. Not for teachers, not for family, but for yourself. Think about what we can achieve if we don't study hard.
Let's study hard from now on and build a better future. Study hard and seize the day! Students, let's cheer together!
Thank you. My speech is over.

Dear teachers and students
hello everyone!
The content of my speech is: how to learn more effectively.
Students, it's normal that we have a heavy burden of schoolwork every day. How to allocate learning time is particularly important.
In my opinion, Chinese is the most difficult subject to learn. It is divided into three parts: foundation, reading and composition, with a wide range of knowledge. In the basic questions, the pronunciation, grades, texts and Related words that need to be recited are the easiest to answer correctly. Such questions mainly focus on the mastery of basic knowledge. If you want to do extra-curricular problems and learn to solve problems that are slightly more difficult, such as judging sick sentences and semantic coherence. In reading questions, small reading is relatively simple, as long as you extract information from the text. In addition, we should accumulate more understanding ability after class. The composition should accumulate more good words and sentences and write faster.
Math problems are the most flexible. In the usual practice, don't memorize by rote, but learn how to solve problems. Be careful when doing questions. You must memorize all kinds of formulas. These formulas play a vital role in the exam. Usually, if you can't ask questions, you can't stay until the last time. You should dare to ask questions and pretend to understand.
English pays attention to mastering words and grammar, and exercise books are also very important. We should finish our homework carefully, memorize words and phrases, and strengthen the review of notes. Reading comprehension and filling in the blanks for the first time are extracurricular questions. We should apply what we have learned, read articles and pay attention to the form of words.
In normal study, we should pay more attention to the subjects we are not good at, but we can't ignore other courses, otherwise we will make progress.
The subjects you are good at should also be strengthened and striven for by going up a flight of stairs. Think actively and absorb more in class. When you study, you will get twice the result with half the effort. Everyone's situation is different, and the learning methods vary from person to person. But as long as you work hard, how can you get nothing?
I wish you all progress!
Thank you!

Dear teachers and students
hello everyone!
I'm . It's a great honor to stand here and express my personal opinions. The topic of my speech today is "learning methods should be suitable for yourself".
After reading the book "learn to learn and learn to be a man", I learned a lot of learning methods and understood the importance of learning methods through the small stories inside. But with good learning methods, everyone can say a few, and normal people can do it. Why is the achievement gap still so large? I don't want to repeat the truth. I just want to say what I think.
What I feel most is that the learning method should be suitable for myself. I am not a hard-working person, but I have always maintained good grades, thanks to the fact that I have found a suitable learning method. When I was just promoted to junior high school, my parents and teachers taught me that junior high school is not much more than primary school. I have to work harder. I began to devote a lot of time to study, spend a lot of time preparing and reviewing, and do my homework seriously. But I don't know why, I feel very hard. I tried to increase the time and effort, but it was even more difficult. I calmed down and carefully analyzed my situation. I found that it was due to improper methods that I had difficulty in learning. I have been blindly following the so-called "good method", ignoring my actual situation. My advantage is strong acceptance, good memory and fast learning. I spend a lot of time and energy preparing and reviewing those familiar knowledge, and I'm tired of dealing with the homework that doesn't make any sense to me. It's strange that I don't work hard. I immediately adjusted the focus of study, put improving classroom efficiency first, and achieved twice the result with half the effort.
Of course, there are wins and losses, and there are high and low. What we can do is to persevere and go all out. Don't just focus on the results and have a clear conscience.
Finally, I wish teachers good health and students learning progress.
My speech is over!
Thank you!

We students are the builders and masters of the country. It is important for us to know how to be a good student .As far as I think, there are many important traits, the traits like this:
Nowadays,Some students may have wrong ideas of what a good student is. they think a good student should study all the subjects well and listen to the teachers all the time, but actually these ones don't care about anything except study.
Firstly, we must have clear world values. We must knows what we should do and what we shouldn't do.
Secondly, a good students should learn as much as possible. So a good student always tries to learn from both text-books and other books. Besides reading, doing some sports and manual works. however, we can’t always study alone, sometimes you need a discussion, don’t forget to work hard with your friends, it will be great help to you.
Thirdly, a strong character and will-power are also need. Because we have troubles every day. How to face the difficulties in study and our lives is very important. A good student won't be afraid of difficulties, we'll always try our best, we will never give up.

Everyone has their idol. So do I. My idol is neither a big star, nor a person with brilliant achievements. My idol is an ordinary person close to me. He’s my father, my beloved father.
My father is 36 years old. He’s tall and keeps his shape well. He has a long face. On the long face, there is a pair of eyes with brimming vigor. Just because of this pair of eyes, he can tell the right from wrong. Between the two eyes, there is a straight nose. Under the nose, there is a mouth with slightly raised corners. With these well-shaped corners of mouth, he always looks like smiling even when he is angry. He is so kind.
My father is an engineer. He also has a business of his own. In my mind, there is always a picture that he’s very busy. I know what he is doing is for us, for the happiness of our family. Influenced by him, I may take up the work in the similar field and will try my best to achieve some successes when I grow up.
My father has some hobbies. For example, he likes playing basketball. He plays it very well. I hope that I can do it like him. But I am a little fat. I will do more exercises to lose some weight.
My father is just an ordinary person, but he shows a lot of passion for life from the bottom of his heart. He sticks to his ideas and never gives up what he is doing. He does not want to be looked down upon by others. My father doesn’t have a good looking like a movie star. But I respect him for his insistence and commitment. He’s my idol forever.

Just make to it the finals, they had to get past 60 others speaking on “The impact of globalization on traditional Chinese values”。 That was at the semi-final on April 8-9. What will Chinese college students think about the impact? Each contestant had his own take on the subject. Xia summed up globalization by saying: “It’s just controversial and hard to say whether it is good or bad.” Xia took the old wall of his city, Nanjing, as a metaphor. He spoke about the conflict over whether to protect the old walls or tear them down to represent the conflict of ideas. He suggested that people protect the wall as a valuable relic while tearing down the “intangible walls” of their minds that prevent communication. While some other students are more focusing on the impact of globalization on family relations, attitudes towards love, and job-hunting.
Over the past 10 years, the national English speaking competition has given contestants a chance to speak on a variety of topics closely related to their lives. Chinese students become more open-minded and receive various ideas and thinking over the decade. Diversity becomes more obvious on campus, students have more opportunities to express and show themselves. It’s not an easy task for the contestants to win through the fierce competition. Owning to their passion, hard work and persistence, they finally succeeded in the contest.
Liu Xin, the first champion of the national contest, is now an anchorperson of CCTV-9. Recalling the passion of study on campus, she said: “When you want to express your idea by a foreign language without finding a right way, you’re really upset. Then you have to encourage yourself, and after a long term of bitterness, suddenly you find you get the right way with joy.” With the champion title in 21st Century Cup, Liu attended the International Public Speaking competition in London in May 1996 afterward and got the first prize historically.
The winner in 20xx surprised the audience, since she came from accounting major instead of English major. Gu Qiubei, then 22 years old, was a senior in Shanghai Foreign Studies University. While being asked whether she had some good methods to learn English, she said: “Learn English with passion and enthusiasm.” Attracted by the greatness of English language, Gu even changed her major from accounting to English in her postgraduate study. The most important issue in English learning process she pointed out is personal interests. Only people interested in English benefit a lot from the learning methods and those with passion will finally achieve their dreams.
When chief of global media giant Viacom Sumner Redstone gave a speech in Tsinghua University on his autobiography A Passion to Win, he was asked what made him to restart his career at the age of 60, the 81-year-old media tycoon said: “Firstly, there’s a self-driving force in my deep heart, which keeps my passion to succeed and surpass others; secondly, I don’t think I’m too old to leave work, actually I love my work very much.”
Some of the contestants have achieved their dreams as Redstone; still others are on the way to their dream. With a passion to win, you will overcome obstacles and succeed at the end.
I’m studying in a city that’s famous for its walls. People who visit my city are amazed at the imposing sight of its walls, especially when silhouetted against the setting sun with gold, shining streaks. The old, cracked bricks are covered with lichens and the walls are weather-beaten guards standing still for centuries.
Our ancestors liked to build walls. They built walls in Beijing, Xi’an, Nanjing and many other cities, and they built the Great Wall, which snakes across half our country. They built walls to protect against enemies and evil spirits. This tradition has survived to this day: we still have many parks and schools walled off from the public.
For a long time, walls were one of the most natural things in the world to me.
My perceptions, however, changed after I made a hiking trip to the eastern suburbs of my city. My classmates and I were walking with some foreign students. As we walked out of the city, we found ourselves flanked by tall trees, which formed a wide canopy above our heads. Suddenly one foreign student asked me, “Where is the entrance to the eastern suburbs?”
“We’re already in the eastern suburbs,” I replied. He seemed taken aback, “I thought you Chinese had walls for everything.” His remark set off a heated debate. At one point, he likened our walled cities to “jails”, while I insisted that the eastern suburbs were one of the many places in China that had no walls.
That debate had no winners, but I did learn a lot from this student. For instance, he told me that some major universities like Oxford and Cambridge were not surrounded by walls. I have to admit that we do have many walls in China, and as we develop our country, we must look carefully at them and decide whether they are physical or intangible. We will keep some walls but tear down those that impede our development.
Let me give another example.
A year ago, when I was working on a term paper, I needed a book on business law and found a copy in the law school library. However, the librarian coldly rejected my request to borrow it, saying, “You can’t borrow this book, you’re not a student here.” In the end, I had to spend 200 yuan to buy a copy. Meanwhile, the copy in the law school gathered dust on the shelf.
At the beginning of this semester, I heard that my university had started to think of unifying its libraries and linking them to libraries at other universities, so my experience wouldn’t be repeated. Barriers would be replaced by bridges. An inter-library loan system would give us access to books from any library. With globalization and China integrated into the world, I believe many of these intangible walls will be knocked down.
I know that globalization is a controversial issue, and it is hard to say whether it is good or bad. But one thing is for sure: it draws our attention to China’s tangible and intangible walls and forces us to examine their role in the modern world.
And how about the ancient walls of mine and other cities? Should we tear them down? Definitely not. My city, like Beijing and other cities, is actually making a great effort to preserve the walls. These walls attract historians, archaeologists, and many schoolchildren who are trying to study our history and cultural heritage. Walls have become bridges to our past and to the rest of the world. If the ancient builders of these walls were still alive today, they would be proud to see such great changes in the role of their walls. They are now bridges that link East and West, South and North, and all countries of the world. Our cultural heritage will survive globalization.

Last year, Mothers Day spending on brunches, jewelry, salon appointments, flowers and greeting cards topped $20 billion, according to the National Retail Federation. And no doubt retailers hope to meet that amount this year too. Brands like American Greetings and Kay Jewelers, a Mothers Day advertising regular, portray the holiday, and therefore motherhood, as an event for young women doted on by attentive husbands and young children[took out the video ref since that wasnt an example of mothers being doted on]. But for many, both the holiday and the reality are as much about being a mother as they are about having, and caring for, their own mothers. And mothers taking care of mothers need more than mimosas and manicures to cope with life in the sandwich generation.

one night a hotel caught fire, and the people who were staying in it ran out in their night clothes.
two men stood outside and looked at the fire.
“before i came out,” said one,“i ran into some of the rooms and found a lot of money.people don't think of money when they're afraid.when anyone leaves paper money in a fire, the fire burns it.so i took all the bills that i could find.no one will be poorer because i took them.”
“you don't know my work,” said the other.
“what is your work?”
“i'm a policeman.
“oh!” cried the first man.he thought quickly and said,“and do you know my work?”“no,”said the policeman.
“i'm a writer.i'm always telling stories about things that never happened.”
關(guān)于學(xué)習(xí)的英語演講稿 篇19
In the summer recess between freshman and sophomore years in college, I wasinvited to be an instructor at a high school leadership camp hosted by a collegein Michigan. I was already highly involved in most campus activities, and Ijumped at the opportunity.
About an hour into the first day of camp, amid the frenzy of icebreakersand forced interactions, I first noticed the boy under the tree. He was smalland skinny, and his obvious discomfort and shyness made him appear frail andfragile. Only 50 feet away, 200 eager campers were bumping bodies, playing, joking and meeting each other, but the boy under the tree seemed to want to beanywhere other than where he was. The desperate loneliness he radiated almoststopped me from approaching him, but I remembered the instructions from thesenior staff to stay alert for campers who might feel left out.
As I walked toward him I said, “Hi, my name is Kevin and I’m one of thecounselors. It’s nice to meet you. How are you?”
In a shaky, sheepish voice he reluctantly answered, “Okay, I guess.”
I calmly asked him if he wanted to join the activities and meet some newpeople. He quietly replied, “No, this is not really my thing.”
I could sense that he was in a new world, that this whole experience wasforeign to him. But I somehow knew it wouldn’t be right to push him, either. Hedidn’t need a pep talk, he needed a friend. After several silent moments, myfirst interaction with the boy under the tree was over.
At lunch the next day, I found myself leading camp songs at the top of mylungs for 200 of my new friends. The campers were eagerly participated. My gazewandered over the mass of noise and movement and was caught by the image of theboy from under the tree, sitting alone, staring out the window. I nearly forgotthe words to the song I was supposed to be leading. At my first opportunity, Itried again, with the same questions as before: “How are you doing? Are youokay?”
To which he again replied, “Yeah, I’m all right. I just don’t really getinto this stuff. ”
As I left the cafeteria, I too realized this was going to take more timeand effort than I had thought — if it was even possible to get through to him atall.
That evening at our nightly staff meeting, I made my concerns about himknown. I explained to my fellow staff members my impression of him and askedthem to pay special attention and spend time with him when they could.
The days I spend at camp each year fly by faster than any others I haveknown. Thus, before I knew it, mid-week had dissolved into the final night ofcamp and I was chaperoning the “l(fā)ast dance”. The students were doing all theycould to savor every last moment with their new “best friends” — friends theywould probably never see again.
As I watched the campers share their parting moments, I suddenly saw whatwould be one of the most vivid memories of my life. The boy from under the tree, who stared blankly out the kitchen window, was now a shirtless dancing wonder. He owned the dance floor as he and two girls proceeded to cut up a rug. Iwatched as he shared meaningful, intimate time with people at whom he couldn’teven look just days earlier. I couldn’t believe it was him. In October of mysophomore year, a late-night phone call pulled me away from my chemistry book. Asoft-spoken, unfamiliar voice asked politely, “Is Kevin there?”
“You’re talking to him. Who’s this?”
“This is Tom Johnson’s mom. Do you remember Tommy from leadership camp?”
The boy under the tree. How could I not remember? “Yes, I do”, I said.“He’s a very nice young man. How is he?”
An abnormally long pause followed, then Mrs. Johnson said, “My Tommy waswalking home from school this week when he was hit by a car and killed.”Shocked, I offered my condolences.
“I just wanted to call you”, she said, “because Tommy mentioned you so manytimes. I wanted you to know that he went back to school this fall withconfidence. He made new friends. His grades went up. And he even went out on afew dates. I just wanted to thank you for making a difference for Tom. The lastfew months were the best few months of his life.”
In that instant, I realized how easy it is to give a bit of yourself everyday. You may never know how much each gesture may mean to someone else. I tellthis story as often as I can, and when I do, I urge others to look out for theirown “boy under the tree.”

honorable judges, fellow students:
good afternoon!
recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. the college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. but will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? will we be able to better the lives of others? will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?
the cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. but the cynics are wrong. the college students i see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. we help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.
the cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. but again, the cynics are wrong. we care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
as college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. we all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. i believe in all my fellow classmates. though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. i believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. we are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. i believein our future.

Three years ago, when Tyrone Duncan was jobless, recovering from a spinal injury and a stintin a homeless shelter, some volunteers at his transitional housing site encouraged him to run with them as they trained for a race.
So it’s no surprise when Duncan says running turned his life around. He is far from the only person in sneakers to make that claim. A growing number of national organizations are using the sport to help kids and adults facing such challenges as homelessness, drugs and cancer. They have a variety of names — Back on My Feet, Achilles International, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Run to Recover — but all have turned to running for the psychological and physiological benefits that training for a race can bring.

As time goes by, people are being busier and busier with working, such as signing their contracts, meeting their customers, drawing up the balance sheets of their companies and so on. In this circumstance, people forget our most excellent skill--smile.
There are a great many kinds of power of smile. First of all, common touch can be showed by a kind smile. Imagine that you go to a company to attend an audition. With a confident smile, you are more likely to answer the question better. Furthermore, smile can eliminate angry. As a philosopher said, smile before you begin to get angry. The last but not the least, it reflects calm of a person when he is in danger or in trouble.
The beneficial aspects cannot be stated completely in this passage. But you can understand its power when you smile.

This short dialogue also reveals a profound truth: between individuals and others to support each other the only support from the team or others will have infinite strength. If without the support of others to you there is no group of policy strength of each member of the team we will not be able to overcome the heavy obstacles through behing XianGuan. Left the team even though you pulled out all the stops in front of difficulties will eventually be exhausted one day.
