　　My name is Tiffany, a Year 2 student from the University of Macau. I am currently an active member of the university Public Speaking Team, president of the Honours College Student Association, and also the vice president of the event department in Marketing Society. I am very active and outgoing. I enjoy being with people, engaged in conversations with them so that I can understand them more. I like public speaking as it can help increase my self-esteem and self-confidence. Aside from public speaking, I am also good at English recitation. I have joined the Macao-wide English Individual Recitation for a number of times when I was studying in the secondary school.

　　Imagine a car without a steering wheel. Tough to imagine, right? Well, actually that’s the image you see if a person has no faith. Faith helps to guide us in our lives, encourage us to persist, and give directions when we are lost.

　　In this peaceful era, our life paths seem to be already well-planned and determined. What we have to do is to follow. Yes, we may face different sorts of challenges, but at least they are less harsh when compared to those in the past. We do not need to worry about starving to death, or how to earn enough money to buy food for our siblings and sustain our lives.

　　It is like driving from a muddy road into a highway. In the muddy road, path, you would say, as it is formed only by crossing on it many times, flattening the ground to form a smoother area so we can pass. The road is so bumpy and rough, with holes here and there and rocks lying all over. When we drive along this road, we have to be very careful, having a firm grip on the steering wheel, ready for a sudden turn or a large boulder that may appear any second. However, when we drive on a highway, everything becomes different. The road is smooth, straight, and visible. Since there is no unseen obstacle, we may lower our guard, relax a bit, and loosen our grip on the steering wheel. One may even think, if we only have to drive on a smooth straight road like this highway, why would we need a steering wheel?

　　Faith is unique, just as happiness is. We feel happy for different reasons, we believe for different things. How can we know what we believe in? Recall the last time you are discouraged, and you felt you had lost all hopes in your life. What pulled you back into the world? What pushed you to stand up and continue to strive again? That is your faith, your belief. Faith is what makes you feel you can when others say you can’t.

About five of my best friends and I were going to the breathtaking places of our motherland where we decided to have an unforgettable days of our life.

　　In evening, we were usually watching comedy films and films about the battles. But on another day we decided to have a party, so we went to a local disco named as Discovery. And the life would be more interesting that night if I didn’t quarrel with my best friend. We started arguing only for our own interests; he insisted on drinking some alcohol and dance, I insisted on not doing that because it would bring big problems and moreover it would be shame on ourselves. Unfortunately, all my friends were against me, because they thought that we could afford drinking alcohol considering that we were about to finish our school. That night I lost all my best friends just in a moment. All my thoughts about friendship were ruined; my heart burst into small pieces that will never be joined any more. And from that moment I started to build everything in my life from zero. I became more serious with my attitude toward people and became more careful myself as well.

　　2.存在問題:

　　1)早讀課容易瞌睡，每天晚上加夜班的同學(xué)比較多，導(dǎo)致早上精神狀態(tài)不好。

　　2)部分學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)方式仍然停留在初中甚至小學(xué)階段，從不自覺主動地去學(xué)習(xí)(從他們對作業(yè)的認(rèn)識和處理方式上就可以看出來)

　　二、其次，想跟大家交流四個問題

　　1.首先和大家交流一個問題：孩子上了初中以后，總有一部分家長很納悶：我家的孩子在小學(xué)能考到八九十分，初中也能考到七八十分，為什么到了初中，成績不令人滿意，甚至有些失望呢?

　　這個問題的答案首先與各個學(xué)習(xí)階段的特點有關(guān)：小學(xué)階段以賞識教育為主，要在很小的時候培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的自信心，試卷內(nèi)容大多與課本有關(guān)，因此考試分?jǐn)?shù)自然會很高。初中則是以普及教育為主，考試會照顧到大部分學(xué)生，因此分?jǐn)?shù)也較高。但是，初中教育，特別是在以高考為最終目標(biāo)的大背景下，就是以選拔為目的了，所以，考試難度與深度會有很大的提升，得分率自然就會下降，孩子們的考試分?jǐn)?shù)自然會低一些。所以拿初中甚至小學(xué)的分?jǐn)?shù)來衡量孩子們初中的學(xué)習(xí)，是不科學(xué)的。

　　其次，與學(xué)生自身的學(xué)習(xí)方式和學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣有關(guān)：初中階段學(xué)習(xí)科目多而且難，要求學(xué)生必須學(xué)會自主學(xué)習(xí)(自覺主動地去學(xué)習(xí))，即變“要我學(xué)”為“我要學(xué)”，再也不能像初中甚至小學(xué)那樣靠老師和家長盯著學(xué)，那樣成績自然會下降。

　　2.第二個問題，為什么同一個班級的孩子三年后成績差別那么大?成績進(jìn)步大的一定是那些學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣和個性好的孩子。孩子為什么會這樣，其實因素很多，這不僅僅與學(xué)習(xí)基礎(chǔ)有關(guān)，最主要的是與孩子的心態(tài)、學(xué)習(xí)方式及學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣密切相關(guān)。學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)方式及習(xí)慣是極其重要的，直接影響和決定學(xué)生的成績。不要到初三時才感慨，現(xiàn)在我們不是不想學(xué)，而是在初一、初二時沒有養(yǎng)成良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣，沒能改變自己的學(xué)習(xí)方式以適應(yīng)初中的學(xué)習(xí)，現(xiàn)在只能是心有余而力不足。因此，現(xiàn)在必須努力學(xué)習(xí)。

　　在此，我希望家長們要時時關(guān)注孩子的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣和個性，也就是情商問題。大量的實例證明了一個人的成功主要取決于情商，其次才是智商，兩者的比例大概是7:3。既然知道英語學(xué)科舉足輕重，就必須愛英語，以十足的干勁學(xué)好英語。

　　3.第二個問題，請家長們正確看待孩子在班級的考試名次，當(dāng)孩子名次退步時，原因是多方面的，首先幫助他樹立信心，然后一起幫助分析原因，而不要盲目地批評甚至打罵孩子。“望子成龍，望女成鳳”是我們共同的心愿，但在初一更應(yīng)注重孩子學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣的培養(yǎng)、學(xué)習(xí)方式的轉(zhuǎn)變，讓孩子快樂的成長進(jìn)步，嚴(yán)格遵循教育教學(xué)規(guī)律。

　　4.有些孩子還沒有適應(yīng)初中的學(xué)習(xí)，還不知道初中階段怎么學(xué)，希望家長們高度關(guān)注。初中學(xué)習(xí)科目多而難，時間緊，主要靠學(xué)生自主和自覺地學(xué)習(xí)，老師主要是引導(dǎo)和輔導(dǎo)、檢查和督促，而不像初中那樣盯著你學(xué)習(xí)。說明學(xué)生在學(xué)習(xí)目的、學(xué)習(xí)興趣上還需培養(yǎng)。

　　訂正的習(xí)慣，督促學(xué)生建立錯題集，當(dāng)堂發(fā)現(xiàn)的問題，當(dāng)堂訂正，不拖拉，不滯留，將問題解決在發(fā)現(xiàn)之處，從而保證知識點的連接，為建立學(xué)科知識體系做保障。這些習(xí)慣，會讓學(xué)生真正的樂學(xué)、好學(xué)，在成功中追求快樂，在快樂中追求成功!

　　四、我想對在座的各位家長提出幾點溫馨提示。

　　孩子是家長的希望，教育好孩子是老師的希望。父母對孩子期望值的高低直接影響孩子將來所取得成就的大小。期望值一定要有，而且要恰到好處。

　　期望值過高：孩子拼命按家長的意愿生活、學(xué)習(xí)，也許父母感到滿足，但孩子生活得較為壓抑，甚至影響心理健康。盡力后仍達(dá)不到家長的要求，雙方均失望，可能導(dǎo)致孩子自暴自棄;

　　期望值過低或沒有：家長對尚不自覺的孩子期望值過低或沒有，孩子會缺少外在精神支持，認(rèn)為不重視、無所謂。

　　適度的期望值：在原有基礎(chǔ)上適當(dāng)拔高，不操之過急，不高不攀，否則可能大家都失望。

　　I'm sure most people still remember the sandstorm that happened last month. It swept across the large area of 11 provinces and caused a great loss to our nation.

　　As you can see on TV, when a sandstorm comes, the wind blows strongly with dust and sand. Sometimes trees are even broken down in half, and little birds cannot find their homes. Sometimes clouds of dust blur the vision, and little kids cannot find their ways. It's like the end of the world.

　　When a sandstorm occurs, our classroom is filled with dust and sand. My poor teachers! They've breathed in enough chalk-powder. Now, they have to take in much dust. My poor fellow classmates! They told me they were almost dying.

　　We love beautiful spring. We cherish bright sunshine. But sandstorms destroy all the lovely things. Yet we know it is Mother Nature's revenge on what we have done to her. In order to see blue sky and sunny spring again, we should plant more trees and more grass to protect the environment. And it is not too late if we start right now.

Both government and ordinary people should join hands together to make our home clean and fresh again. Only in this way our earth could be a better place to live in.

But whenever guests came, she and other female family members had to eat by the stove in the small kitchen. At family discussions, she was never asked for her opinion. After grandpa passed away, she had to listen to my uncle, her eldest son, fulfilled her duty as daughter, wife, and mother; yet as a person, she remained little noticed. Even though she could see herself in the mirror of the dressing table, she was never visible in the mirror of society.

　　I have been living a different life. At home, I make decisions together with the rest of the family. In school, I often take charge of various activities the same as other boys and girls. Not only that, I can see something granny could not have dreamed of─making decisions for my own future. My life has been a series of decisions. I could choose from several universities as I came out of high school. At university, I could choose from a range of subjects from English literature to business law. 　　第一，做好課堂筆記，顧名思義，課堂筆記便是利用課堂時間將老師所講的重點、難點、疑點記下，千萬不可以“手懶”，對于知識零碎的英語來說更是如此，好記性不如爛筆頭。然后是回顧筆記，回顧筆記才是做筆記的重點，建議大家，周末時專門抽出時間回顧一下當(dāng)周所做的筆記，這樣能有效地緩解緊張的心理，可以讓你在下一周的學(xué)習(xí)中得心應(yīng)手。舉個我自己的例子吧，記得有一次英語抽測，我抱著僥幸的心理，沒有做好復(fù)習(xí)工作，所以考試前就開始臨時抱佛腳，結(jié)果到了最后，根本沒有時間復(fù)習(xí)完，考試時慌慌張張，考得一塌糊涂。所以說，做好筆記對于學(xué)生來說十分重要。

　　第二，整理回顧錯題，對于很多同學(xué)來說，都能做到整理錯題，但重點是我們不僅僅要整理，更要回顧與反思。所謂“好馬不吃回頭草”對我們學(xué)生萬萬不可適用，要想成功擠過中考這座獨木橋，就必須回顧自己的錯題，也防止再出現(xiàn)類似的失誤。再舉個例子吧，我開始和很多同學(xué)一樣只是糾一下錯，之后就不管了，但是有一次考試，我真記得做過某一題，就是忘了怎么做，結(jié)果不僅沒做出題，心情也糟糕透頂，考試結(jié)果可想而知慘不忍睹，后來我學(xué)著經(jīng)�；仡欏e題本，慢慢地積累，厚積薄發(fā)，考試也不再出現(xiàn)類似的失誤。

　　如果你以前的英語沒有學(xué)好，那相對來說，你現(xiàn)在學(xué)得比較累;同樣地，如果你現(xiàn)在不學(xué)好英語，那將來的英語學(xué)習(xí)也是不難想象的。因為現(xiàn)在初一英語，如果有心的家長仔細(xì)看的話，會發(fā)現(xiàn)初一英語的詞匯量與語法是無法想象的。所以我們只有現(xiàn)在打好良好的基礎(chǔ)，才不會導(dǎo)致英語越學(xué)越難、越學(xué)越差。

　　這一班學(xué)生在英語方面是我剛剛接手的，每個學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)情況我還在不斷的了解之中，其實在座的家長對自己子女的情況比我更加清楚。學(xué)生們都是在同一起跑線上起跑的，經(jīng)過兩年來的學(xué)習(xí)，學(xué)生與學(xué)生之間已經(jīng)拉開了差距。一些好的學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)興趣濃，學(xué)習(xí)勁頭足，課堂上積極思維，踴躍發(fā)言，課后及時鞏固，形成了良性循環(huán)的好勢頭。他們的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣好，在聽、說、讀、寫方面都能齊頭并進(jìn)，我為他們感到欣慰。可也有一些學(xué)生，平時學(xué)習(xí)馬虎，基礎(chǔ)不扎實，功虧一簣，導(dǎo)致他們現(xiàn)在課上聽講出現(xiàn)困難，用他們自己的話說：“李老師上課，我聽不懂。”聽不懂，還不努力，書面作業(yè)拖拉不交，口頭作業(yè)根本不完成，如此一來，學(xué)習(xí)自然成了件頭痛事，麻煩事。其實，大部分的學(xué)生還是處于中間層次，老師所教的，所布置的作業(yè)能夠基本完成，但學(xué)習(xí)的效率又因人而異，存在著個體差別。盡管他們平時不需要老師操太多的心，費太大的力，但是說起各方面的表現(xiàn)，又總有一絲遺憾，我們總希望他們能夠再上一個臺階。

　　怎樣幫助孩子學(xué)好英語呢?我們老師自然是最直接的知識傳授者，有著不可推卸的責(zé)任。在此，我們只是真誠地呼吁我們的家長配合學(xué)校，配合老師，靠我們共同的努力來幫助孩子學(xué)好英語。用一句時髦的話說：我們要和孩子共同成長。

　　重視良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣的培養(yǎng)

　　(1)讓孩子多聽錄音在少兒英語教學(xué)中，首先是加強(qiáng)聽力訓(xùn)練和說話訓(xùn)練，然后才是讀寫能力的培養(yǎng)。聽說能力差，用英語進(jìn)行交際的能力差，為此，家長一定要配合學(xué)校來要求孩子，要創(chuàng)造條件讓孩子多聽，多聽純正的錄音，聽幾遍、聽清楚了以后，跟著說。按照眼前利益來看，我們的升學(xué)考試也一年比一年注重聽力、閱讀等需要綜合能力的部分。比如前年的聽力占35分，去年就已經(jīng)占40分了。

　　(2)讓孩子大聲說英語家長要每天留出15分鐘左右時間讓孩子讀讀英語，不管當(dāng)天有無英語課。我們要鼓勵孩子大聲地朗讀、對話、問答，大聲說，不害羞，這樣有利于清楚地表達(dá)自己，也有利于他人糾正自己的錯誤。

　　(3)讓孩子熟練背誦課文和單詞背誦是一項基本功，可以積累一些日常用語，到用的時等候就可以脫口而出。但是在背誦過程中要講究方法，不可操之過急，要注意分散和集中相結(jié)合。我們一般是分段教課文，那就可以請學(xué)生分段背課文。等快教完的時候，再把課文串起來背，這樣可以降低一點難度，讓學(xué)生背得輕松些。但是在檢查過程中，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)有一部分學(xué)生背得相當(dāng)熟練，可問他課文中的某個詞組或句子的意思時，他卻一問三不知。所以，我們在背誦過程中要注意上下文的理解，在理解的基礎(chǔ)上達(dá)到背誦的要求，課文中涉及到的相關(guān)詞組和句型，要讓學(xué)生熟記，并能用它們來造句、說話。

　　在具體的實施過程中發(fā)現(xiàn)：有些學(xué)生根本不用心學(xué)，能偷懶則偷懶，很多家長比較負(fù)責(zé)會查問有沒有教新課，要不要默寫，但孩子不老實，欺騙家長。這時候，你應(yīng)該及時跟我聯(lián)系，讓孩子知道：欺騙不是辦法，也會受到相應(yīng)的懲罰。

　　單詞亦是如此，分散記憶、根據(jù)讀音記憶單詞都是可取的方法。有時，我們回家布置抄寫單詞，其目的不在于抄，而在于提醒學(xué)生記憶這些單詞。但是在日常學(xué)習(xí)中，學(xué)生不重視這項作業(yè)，認(rèn)為只是抄抄而已，不做也沒什么關(guān)系，其實他連抄寫都不做，根本別說是去背了，結(jié)果幾次下來，他負(fù)債累累，應(yīng)付不過來，學(xué)習(xí)處于被動狀態(tài)，從而影響了以后的學(xué)習(xí)，出現(xiàn)退步現(xiàn)象。因此，請大家在家里督促孩子保質(zhì)保量地完成英語作業(yè)，該讀的讀、該說的說、該寫的寫、該記的記，及時鞏固，養(yǎng)成良好的習(xí)慣。父母親的良好榜樣起著很大作用。孩子一般還沒有明確的學(xué)習(xí)目的，這時，父母親對學(xué)習(xí)的態(tài)度，特別是行為，會極大地影響孩子。

　　在默寫單詞、詞組、課文的時候，有些會誘導(dǎo)父母：老師要求報英語，那家長就比較為難，一方面，自己根本不會讀英語;另一方面，也只能幫助他作弊了。

　　其實，我們對默寫的要求是這樣的：單詞、詞組是要求家長報中文，課文是要求學(xué)生自己熟背然后默寫的。千萬不能縱容自己的孩子第一次說：英語好難，我默不出來;就任由他去。你讓你的孩子知道：今天，你花大時間去養(yǎng)成好習(xí)慣，明天，你就可以更好。今天，你偷懶了一會，你明天的作業(yè)就會更多。累積下來，你就是欠債最多的人。孩子是每個家庭的重心和希望，有一位家長說過：“要把培養(yǎng)孩子當(dāng)作自己的事業(yè)來做。”是啊，只要你多投入一點，相信你的孩子會給予你更多的回報!
