In order to protect our resources of ecology, people should realize that the loss of any species is at least the loss of source of knowledge and a source of natural beauty. There fore, measures of the following should be taken: pollution standards are made to keepdown poisons; killing off certain rare species is prohibited; national parks should be set up as wild life, reserves.

  Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen!

My name is Linan ,from the group of communication and training.

I am so happy to stand here to give a speech to all of you.

The topic of my speech is Young man should have a great ambition and be quick in action.

Everybody knows that it’s important for a company,a team ,a person to have a great ambition, which can give us power and lead us to make a target.

unfortunately, most people are the giants of thought and the dwarfs of action. Why?

Because it’s easily to make a decision but hard to put it into practice.

Do you remember all those years when you said again and again that you could lose weight but finally failed?

I have no time to do exercise! My boyfriend don’t supervise me!I’m so hungry that I have no energy to run!

  Liar!WuZhengQi did it,right?

Actually, what you need to do is just wash the first dish.

The main point of washing dishes theory is that if you start to wash the first dish in the kitchen, you can finish the rest of them. Every dish is the first one.

  "洗盤子"理論主要意思就是,當(dāng)你洗完廚房內(nèi)第一個盤子時,你就能洗完剩下所有的盤子——剩下的都是"第一個盤子".

When I came to the new group,I knew that the Internet would be the main form of service industry.

But I didn’t know much about the internet, except that it changes constantly.

So I had no choice but to learn many things about Internet.

I read 3 books in two months, which are Wechat Marketing And Operation,The Sense Of Participation ,and The Adweek Copyright Handbook.

Even though I just wash 3 dishes,I am on the road of expedition, right?

There is a wonderful word which expresses the most original motions anddesires among human-beings. With solving any kind of imperfections, our worldhas moved ahead. This is the word “innovation” that we cannot afford tolose.

We chicaned every detail of the innovation. Thousands years before, wecreated fire when we took a stone to knock another one. Since Han Dynasty, fourgreat inventions had been created and it is one of the greatest signs that Chinabecome to the ancient civilized country. And nowadays, thousands of software, products, architectures and public facilities have upgraded more than that about100 years ago. So how did these happen? What will you do if you are notsatisfied with your tools anymore? What will you do if old mode cannot afford todevelop in a company? There is no doubt that we should innovate no matter wherewe are and what we do. Not because of the design itself, but actually for itsintended purpose.

If there was no Apple, everyone could not imagine how to contact otherseasily and enjoy a better Internet surfing.

If there was no Microsoft, perhaps we still worked in a dim office andduplicate some troublesome documents. If there was no Newton, and no theory ofgravity, maybe I will win the Nobel Prize like Newton rather than just standinghere. I have heard that three apple changed the world. The first one seducedEve. The second one awakened Newton. The third one was in the hands of SteveJobs. We sort of think the innovation of the world began with apple. I imaginelots of people want to become another Newton or Jobs right now with just onehand to change the world, right? Have the innovation to follow your heart. Itsomehow already reflects what you truly want to become. Everything else issecondary.

Via questioning, we can start to innovate. Via innovating, we can start tocreate better lives. No innovation, no improvement. No improvement, no success. And no success, no civilization. Now, our time is limited, so don't waste itliving someone else's life! Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown outyour own inner voice! Don't let yourself down! It is the innovation that wecannot afford to lose!

When I was 27 years old, I left a very demanding job in management consulting for a job that was even more demanding: teaching. I went to teach seventh graders math in the New York City public schools. And like any teacher, I made quizzes and tests. I gave out homework assignments. When the work came back, I calculated grades.

What struck me was that I.Q. was not the only difference between my best and my worst students. Some of my strongest performers did not have stratospheric I.Q. scores. Some of my smartest kids weren't doing so well.

And that got me thinking. The kinds of things you need to learn in seventh grade math, sure, they're hard: ratios, decimals, the area of a parallelogram. But these concepts are not impossible, and I was firmly convinced that every one of my students could learn the material if they worked hard and long enough.

After several more years of teaching, I came to the conclusion that what we need in education is a much better understanding of students and learning from a motivational perspective, from a psychological perspective. In education, the one thing we know how to measure best is I.Q., but what if doing well in school and in life depends on much more than your ability to learn quickly and easily?

So I left the classroom, and I went to graduate school to become a psychologist. I started studying kids and adults in all kinds of super challenging settings, and in every study my question was, who is successful here and why? My research team and I went to West Point Military Academy. We tried to predict which cadets would stay in military training and which would drop out. We went to the National Spelling Bee and tried to predict which children would advance farthest in competition. We studied rookie teachers working in really tough neighborhoods, asking which teachers are still going to be here in teaching by the end of the school year, and of those, who will be the most effective at improving learning outcomes for their students? We partnered with private companies, asking, which of these salespeople is going to keep their jobs? And who's going to earn the most money? In all those very different contexts, one characteristic emerged as a significant predictor of success. And it wasn't social intelligence. It wasn't good looks, physical health, and it wasn't I.Q. It was grit.

Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day in, day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years, and working really hard to make that future a reality. Grit is living life like it's a marathon, not a sprint.

A few years ago, I started studying grit in the Chicago public schools. I asked thousands of high school juniors to take grit questionnaires, and then waited around more than a year to see who would graduate. Turns out that grittier kids were significantly more likely to graduate, even when I matched them on every characteristic I could measure, things like family income, standardized achievement test scores, even how safe kids felt when they were at school. So it's not just at West Point or the National Spelling Bee that grit matters. It's also in school, especially for kids at risk for dropping out. To me, the most shocking thing about grit is how little we know, how little science knows, about building it. Every day, parents and teachers ask me, "How do I build grit in kids? What do I do to teach kids a solid work ethic? How do I keep them motivated for the long run?" The honest answer is, I don't know. (Laughter) What I do know is that talent doesn't make you gritty. Our data show very clearly that there are many talented individuals who simply do not follow through on their commitments. In fact, in our data, grit is usually unrelated or even inversely related to measures of talent.

So far, the best idea I've heard about building grit in kids is something called "growth mindset." This is an idea developed at Stanford University by Carol Dweck, and it is the belief that the ability to learn is not fixed, that it can change with your effort. Dr. Dweck has shown that when kids read and learn about the brain and how it changes and grows in response to challenge, they're much more likely to persevere when they fail, because they don't believe that failure is a permanent condition.

So growth mindset is a great idea for building grit. But we need more. And that's where I'm going to end my remarks, because that's where we are. That's the work that stands before us. We need to take our best ideas, our strongest intuitions, and we need to test them. We need to measure whether we've been successful, and we have to be willing to fail, to be wrong, to start over again with lessons learned.

In other words, we need to be gritty about getting our kids grittier.

  Thank you.

  (Applause)

Good morning, everyone, I'm so glad to be here and make a presentation. Before my presentation, i’d like to ask you some quertions.Do you know Li na,the famous tennis athlete in China? How much do you know about her?

I am sure that many students who have watched the Australian Tennis Championship on CCTV 5 during winter break. So today, i would like to talk about my thoughts of this game.

On January 24, Li na won over Sharapova in the women' s singles final. This is the third time that Li na has gone into the grand slam finals. Once again, On January 26, Li na went against a new opponent name Azarenka. On that day of the game, Li na was in the leadin the first inning, but during the second inning, she accidently fell down twice. People were shocked and sad about how she could not continue the game. But because of the people being worried, she doggedly continue the game, making the audience cheer and applauding her for her effort to continue her game. A t that time ,audience applauded foe her persistence.Although she lost the game, her hard effort and insistency moved us and motivated us.

And this case also appreaded in tthe men singles final the next day. Two opponents named Murray and Djokovic were against each other. Due to the game, Murray's foot had blisters that affected the way he played. The doctor had to treat his wound with medicine. As human beings, if we had blisters on our foot, we may feel a lot of pain and don't want to walk. However, as an athlete, Murray had to withstand the pain and strive for the victory.

As far as I’m concerned, for professional athletes, games have become a part of their life. They fight inthe match, fight for their dream, and enjoy thir games

As students, studying is a part of our life.I know we may be confronted with many different kinds of problems, have you ever wangted to give it up? On the one hand, when i faced with difficulties,i felt sad and didn’t want to continue,on the other hand ,i would tell myself that:He who can sndure the greatest hardships will be the greatest among men.So to my way of thinking, on the road of studying, we need to learn how to keep ourself motivated and continue studying and learn how to make studying a better way to enjoy rather then boring ourself out.

When I was five, my biological father mitted suicide。 It left me feeling asthough I'd done something wrong; that if I had been better somehow, maybe he'dhave stayed around。 My mother remarried shortly thereafter, and this man was mydad until I was nineteen。 I called him Dad and used his name all through school。But, when he and my mother divorced, he just walked away。 Once again, I wonderedwhat was wrong with me that I couldn't keep a father。

Mother remarried again, and Bob was a wonderful, kind man。 I was twenty nowand no longer living at home, but I felt a great love and attachment for him。 Afew years later my mother was diagnosed with cancer and was not given long tolive。 Shortly before she died, Bob came over to my house alone one day。 Wetalked about a lot of things, and then he told me that he wanted me to know thathe'd always be there for me, even after Mother was gone。 Then he asked if hecould adopt me。

I could hardly believe my ears。 Tears streamed down my face。 He wanted me -me! This man had no obligation to me, but he was reaching out from his heart, and I accepted。 During the adoption proceedings, the judge mented on all theundesirable duties of his profession and then with a tear in his eye, thanked usfor brightening his day as he pronounced us father and daughter。 I wastwenty-five, but I was his little girl。

Three short years later, Bob, too, was diagnosed with cancer and was gonewithin the year。 At first I was hurt and angry at God for taking this fatheraway too。 But eventually the love and acceptance that I felt from Dad camethrough again, and I became, once more, grateful for the years we had。

On Father's Day I always reflect on what I've learned about fatherhood。I've learned that it is not dependent on biology or even on raising a child。Fatherhood is a matter of the heart。 Bob's gift from the heart will warm my soulfor eternity。

With our world developing, more and more people neglect how to conduct theirselves. What is the most common reflection of this phenomenon is dishonesty, which is now seriously influencing relationship between people.

Being dishonest can do harm not only to others but also to ourselves, thus,we must get aware of the importance of boycoting it.Take the case of the Sanlu powder for example. After drinking Sanlu fake powder, lots of babies got sick and had big heads, nevertheless, their bodies still thin.People hateful too much, the Sanlu corporation expectedly get punished and never have choice to make up their faults.

When it comes to the significances of being honest,I consider,we will make good relationship bewteen others, such as in the school ,in the busineand in the society.Furthermore, only if we are honest to others can others become friendly to us.Therefore, cultivate a virtue of honesty and we will get better.

This kind of things happened in China more often than any other countries. What can we do to prevent those actions? Though we have advocate education of the tourists for years, the situation was not better than be imagined. In my opinion, we still have to encourage the education of our tourists, but with some change. Dear Judges and Friends,

The topic for my speech today is “Festival.” I would like to talk about myfavorite festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In China we have several important festivals, such as the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the Dragon-boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival.Among them, I like Mid-Autumn festival best, especially because I live inXiamen.

In Xiamen, when we celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival, we do not only followthe common practices such as having a big dinner party with our family, eatingmooncakes, and appreciating the full moon at night, we also have one uniquecustom which is only practiced in Xiamen, that is “Bo Bing”.

“Bo Bing” is a very interesting game that almost all Xiamen people playduring this festival. Usually family members or close friends get togetheraround a table with a big round bowl in the middle and six dices in the bowl. Wetake turns to throw the dices into the bowl. We will get different prizesaccroding to the different ways the dices show their upper sides. Everyone islikely to become the champion or “Zhuangyuan” for the year. There is an elementof luck and equal opportunity in this game. So people usually get excited whileplaying. Also, the game gives very pleasant sounds. The tinkling made by thedices falling into the bowl is pleasant, people’s laughing, cheering andapplauding for the big prizes they’ve won is pleasant. All this adds greatly tothe joyful atmosphere of this festival. As a kid, of course I also like thematerial prizes I get from the game, such as a candy or a cake.

In this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, my family invited our foreign friendsto come to our home to celebrate the Festival together. They have two childrenwho are younger than me. While our parents were making Jiaozi together, we kidsplayed “Bo Bing”. We bought quite some gifts to share with our guests as theirprizes. They enjoyed the game and our get-together very much.

The literal translation of “Bo Bing” is “mooncake gambling.” But actuallyit is not gambling, at least our family never plays it that way. For us, it ismore an occasion of happy sharing and getting-together. This is why Xiamen’sMid-Autumn Festival has become my favorite festival in the year.

  Thank you very much!

But firstly, we should make sure that China is a place where we can make it if we try, where we can go as far as hard work and big dreams will take us. We understand that it’s not going to be a cakewalk, this competition for the future, which means all of us are going to have to do our best. We are going to have to win the future by being smarter and working harder and working together. Innovation is the spirit of our country, the motive force for our country’s prosperity.

Sparking the imagination and creativity of our people, unleashing new discoveries -- that's what China will do better than any other country on Earth. From the moment we have a new idea, we can explore it; we can develop it with a research grant; we can protect it with a patent; we can market it with a loan to start a new business. We’ve got a chain that takes a great idea all the way through. We must be confirmed that, today, the challenges we face are real. They are serious they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But we will somehow find a way to overcome the difficulties. My major is . My is to discover or create new drugs for many diseases like cancer. You know that laboratory is the place where miracles happen. Believe it or not.

What I do can save millions of people’s lives. For a long time, what challenges me is how to commercialize research. You come up with a great idea, but moving that new discovery from theory to practice or from the lab to the marketplace, that's really a big . That’s what we should focus on. We need to act with a sense of urgency-to study and work and create as if the fate of the country depends on us-because it does. It depends on us. Thank you!
