　　獨立

　　I will soon become a middle school student, which means my life will come to a new chapter. So I must do something different to make me stronger. I want to be more independent, so I can make my own decision. As my parents always make decisions for me, I want to tell them that I have grown up. From now on, I should learn to take care of myself, such as washing clothes and helping my mother with the house work. The most important thing is to finish my homework without my parents' supervision. I am so excited about my new life and I believe that I can become a better person.

　　我很快就要成為一名中學生了，這意味著我即將開啟我生活的新篇章。所以我必須做些不同的東西，讓我更強大。我想變得更獨立，這樣我就可以自己做決定。我的父母總是為我做決定，我想告訴他們我已經(jīng)長大了。從現(xiàn)在開始，我應(yīng)該學會照顧自己，比如洗衣服、幫媽媽做家務(wù)。最重要的是不用父母監(jiān)督就完成我的家庭作業(yè)。我對我的新生活感到很興奮，我相信我能成為一個更好的人。

　　When we talk about being independent, we often think about leaving our parents and living alone. The mental independence is always ignored by people, mental independence means the person can measure the things and make the right decision. As for the children, even they move out and stay far away from their parents, but sometimes they just can't control themselves, they will get the bad behavior, like smoking and drinking, their life is losing control. The young people need to cultivate their independent spirit, they should think by themselves, learn to take care of the other people, thus they can be the real independent. When a person grows up, they can be strong enough to support their lives and at the same time, they can be mature enough to make their own decision. They can tell what is wrong and what is right.

　　當我們談到成為獨立，總是想要離開父母，獨自居住。精神上的獨立總是被人們忽略，精神上的獨立意味著一個人能衡量事情，做出正確的決定。對于孩子來說，雖然他們搬出去，遠離父母，但是有時候他們無法自控，養(yǎng)成不好的習慣。比如抽煙和喝酒，他們的生活會失控。年輕人需要養(yǎng)成獨立精神，他們應(yīng)該自己思考，學著去照顧別人，這樣才能真正的獨立。當一個人成長了，他們才能夠足夠的強大去養(yǎng)活自己，同時，也能夠足夠成熟去做決定。他們能區(qū)分什么是好，什么是壞。

　　In our modern society, the concept of independent thought is fast becoming obsolete. These days, anyone unsure of what to think about a certain issue can simply go online or turn on the television and a host of bloggers, pundits, and analysts are ready and willing to tell them where they should stand on an important topic. Although the Internet has made sharing one's opinion much easier, it is also making it increasingly difficult to think for one's self. The old fashion way of forming an opinion, by examining the facts and shaping an opinion from them, is under fire from a news media that wants to tell us not only what is happening but how we should feel about the unfolding events. Now more than ever, the ability to think for one's self is an important skill and realize the importance of doing so.

　　The ability to think for one's self is becoming a lost art today. Too many people take the easy way out and simply allow the majority to do their thinking for them. But thinking for one's self has little to do with always going against the majority. Whether you side with the majority or not is less important than how you decided whom to side with. As long as you arrive at the conclusion by yourself and don't allow yourself to be influenced by others, you are making the right decision. Aristotle once said “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.”

　　在我們的現(xiàn)代社會中，獨立思想的概念正在迅速過時。這些天，任何人都不知道什么是認為某一問題可以簡單地在網(wǎng)上或打開電視和主機的博客，專家和分析師都準備好了，并愿意告訴他們，他們應(yīng)該站在一個重要的話題。雖然互聯(lián)網(wǎng)已經(jīng)使得分享一個人的觀點更容易，但也越來越難以想象自己的自我。通過審查事實和塑造一個意見，舊的方式形成一種意見，是在火從一個新聞媒體，要告訴我們，不僅是什么正在發(fā)生，但我們應(yīng)該如何感覺的展開事件�，F(xiàn)在比以往任何時候都更重要的是，認為自己的自我是一個重要的技能，并意識到這樣做的重要性。

　　認為自己的自我的能力正在成為一種失落的藝術(shù)。太多的人走的很簡單，只要讓大多數(shù)人為他們做他們的想法。但是想一個人的自我，卻很少去做，總是反對大多數(shù)人。不管你身邊是否與大多數(shù)人相比，都不那么重要，而不是你如何決定與誰在一起。只要你自己得出結(jié)論，不要讓自己受別人的影響，你就做出了正確的決定。亞里士多德曾說：“這是一個受過教育的人的標志，可以接受一個思想，而不接受它。”
