compete指為了達(dá)到某個(gè)目的與另一個(gè)或其他人“競(jìng)爭(zhēng)”，僅僅是為了爭(zhēng)得名次、獎(jiǎng)品，并不含有將對(duì)手征服的意思。

①在指身體狀況良好時(shí)，不用in good condition，而要用keep fit and well。
②指生活或工作條件時(shí)，用復(fù)數(shù)conditions。

（正）he is libing in terrible conditions.
