Im glad to be here to share with you my definition of success.
when we mentioned the success, the usual worldly criteria are wealth, fame,high social status and something other like that. in reality, we can’t deny tthese things in some way. but personally, i believe that succeis the realizationof people’ hopes and wishes. and to live with a high ideal is a successful life.it is not what one does, but what one tries to do, that make a man strong. so ibelieve that succeis ninety-nine percent mental attitude, it calls for lots ofpositive quality: effort, love, diligence, efficiency and so on. i think thesuccessful life always have these characters. if a person inherits his family’smillions and leads an easy life, he is not a successful person in materialterms, it just can be said that he has the smooth way of life, he is lucky insome way, but that is not the succe.unceasing effort is the price of success. nomatter what is the result, we always can get more from the process. what weshould do is that insisting on our goals or dreams and always encourage.
ourselves to challenge more, to hold the opportunities, never give up. itsounds like si-mp-le, but it is really hard to do. also the key points of thesuccess.
relatively speaking, in our daily life, succewould be rather si-mp-le. forme, i’m standing here to take part in the speech competition is somehow alsosuccess. as i’m a easy to suffer from stage fright, i choose to hold thischance, my goal is my own character training——to be more confident, to have morecourage to front such situation, i really do it, i have truly gained byparticipating, i’m success.
what is success? i’m sure that everyone has his own interpretation as i do.in the inspiring words of philips brooks:“ do not pray for tasks equal to yourpowers ,pray for powers equal to your tasks, then the doing of your work shallbe no miracle, but you shall be the miracle.” so believe in our hopes ,believein ourselves. every one can create the success.

VerdanaI therefore decided that this occasion warranted my saying to yousome of the things that have been on the minds and hearts of my legislative andexecutive associates, and on mine, for a great many months thoughts I hadoriginally planned to say primarily to the American people.

Neither would it be ameasure of this great opportunity merely to recite, however hopefully, piousplatitudes.
Nineteen years ago, almost to the day, we lost three astronauts in aterrible accident on the ground. But weve never lost an astronaut in flight.Weve never had a tragedy like this. And perhaps weve forgotten the courage ittook for the crew of the shuttle. But they, the Challenger Seven, were aware ofthe dangers, but overcame them and did their s brilliantly. We mourn sevenheroes: Michael Smith, Dick Scobee, Judith Resnik, Ronald McNair, EllisonOnizuka, Gregory Jarvis, and Christa McAuliffe. We mourn their loas a nationtogether.
And I want to say something to the schoolchildren of who were watching thelive coverage of the shuttles take-off. I know its hard to understand, butsometimes painful things like this happen. Its all part of the proceofexploration and discovery. Its all part of taking a chance and expanding manshorizons. The future doesnt belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave.The Challenger crew was pulling us into the future, and well continue to followthem.
Well continue our quest in space. There will be more shuttle flights andmore shuttle crews and, yes, more volunteers, more civilians, more teachers inspace. Nothing ends here; our hopes and our journeys continue.

尊敬的各位家長(zhǎng),大家下午好,
非常感謝各位家長(zhǎng)在這寒冷的天氣里抽空來到學(xué)校參加孩子高中階段的第一次家長(zhǎng)會(huì),大家辛苦了,我是我們班的英語老師尹老師,很開心能在這里與諸位交流一下孩子們這半個(gè)學(xué)期以來在英語學(xué)習(xí)方面的情況。我的電話號(hào)碼是12345678,歡迎大家以后與我聯(lián)系交流孩子的英語學(xué)習(xí)情況,也請(qǐng)各位家長(zhǎng)給我多提寶貴意見和建議。
首先,我想簡(jiǎn)單談?wù)勎覀儼嗟娜粘S⒄Z學(xué)習(xí)狀況。
我們班的特點(diǎn)是:同學(xué)英語功底都還不錯(cuò),課堂活躍,認(rèn)真做筆記,能跟著老師的思路走,作業(yè)大部分同學(xué)都能按時(shí)完成。作業(yè)完成一直特別優(yōu)秀的同學(xué)有:某某某。
需要改進(jìn)或提高的地方有:
1. 作業(yè)完成質(zhì)量不高,有些同學(xué)作業(yè)做完后錯(cuò)題沒有更正,或者即使是更正,也沒有分析和總結(jié)錯(cuò)誤原因,導(dǎo)致做題效率低,有些題一錯(cuò)再錯(cuò)。
2. 做題速度:部分同學(xué)做題做題速度太慢導(dǎo)致考試試題不能正常完成而扣分過多。
3. 提問或反饋:提問人數(shù)少,不管是課內(nèi)還是課后,只有少數(shù)同學(xué)會(huì)經(jīng)常過來問我問題,比如某某某。大部分同學(xué)不問問題,這說明對(duì)知識(shí)的消化及思考不到位,只是被動(dòng)的接受,并不是主動(dòng)思考從而發(fā)現(xiàn)問題,解決問題。
接下來我想簡(jiǎn)單地分析一下我們班的期中考試成績(jī)。
在這次考試中,我們班英語尖子生比較少,就是130分以上只有3人,但120分以上的,也就是達(dá)到英語優(yōu)秀的學(xué)生還是比較多的,120分以上的同學(xué)有27人,但與此同時(shí),我們班 低分段的人數(shù)也不少,低于100分的同學(xué)有7人。和第一次月考相比,班級(jí)整體有進(jìn)步,但也有少數(shù)同學(xué)退步了。
這次考試反映出了以下幾個(gè)問題:
1.是做題速度把握不好,部分同學(xué)在閱讀理解上花費(fèi)了大量的時(shí)間而導(dǎo)致后面的主觀題沒有充分的時(shí)間去完成,進(jìn)而扣分嚴(yán)重。
2.少數(shù)同學(xué),尤其是男生,也有部分女生,英語書寫不過關(guān),字寫得太差,作文卷面顏值很低,導(dǎo)致閱卷老師無法識(shí)別其所寫的內(nèi)容,導(dǎo)致作文扣分過多。本來如果字寫好一點(diǎn)的話可以得21-22分,但由于字寫得太潦草,只得了16分左右,這分丟得太不應(yīng)該。
3.閱讀題因?yàn)樵~匯量小而不能理解文章意思,對(duì)文章結(jié)構(gòu)和邏輯不理解也是閱讀錯(cuò)題較多的原因。
4.課文內(nèi)容句子填空填反映出同學(xué)對(duì)書本知識(shí)的掌握程度,部分同學(xué)欠缺較大,15分課文內(nèi)容填空題如果沒上9分,說明課文朗讀太少,書本知識(shí)掌握太差。
最后,我希望家長(zhǎng)們?cè)谝韵聨讉(gè)方面提供幫助:
1. 每周翻翻孩子的作業(yè),可以看出孩子是敷衍了事還是認(rèn)真對(duì)待,請(qǐng)?zhí)嵝押⒆右欢ㄒe(cuò)題并分析總結(jié),這樣才能有收獲。
2. 督促孩子在家多背單詞,多背誦英語美文或英語作文范文,多朗讀和跟讀英語錄音。在學(xué)校我們只有周三和周五的早讀課是英語早讀課,所以在學(xué)校進(jìn)行朗讀的時(shí)間是極其有限的,希望家長(zhǎng)們?cè)诩叶酱俸⒆用刻於甲x一下英語,10-20分鐘最好,可以朗讀課文或跟讀課文錄音。課文錄音可以來我這里拷貝。
3. 督促孩子練字,改善書寫。字寫得工整漂亮是英語主觀題尤其是作文題得高分的前提。我們應(yīng)該趁現(xiàn)在還是高一,還有充沛的時(shí)間,努力去改善書寫。我現(xiàn)在要求孩子們每星期臨摹字帖至少6版,練字本上練字至少抄寫三篇文章,希望各位家長(zhǎng)們多多督促。
4. 督促孩子除了完成老師布置的任務(wù)之外,還要提高自學(xué)能力,積極主動(dòng)的多做課外習(xí)題,尋找課文學(xué)習(xí)材料,多思考和整理所學(xué)過的知識(shí)。告訴孩子高中和初中最大的不同就在于高中階段一定要有自學(xué)能力,了解自我,夯實(shí)基礎(chǔ),主動(dòng)思考,查漏補(bǔ)缺,這樣才能提高學(xué)習(xí)成績(jī)和學(xué)習(xí)能力。
5. 幫助孩子購(gòu)買工具書,建議買一本英漢雙解的英語詞典,孩子在做平時(shí)的作業(yè)或進(jìn)行課外自學(xué)時(shí)遇到不認(rèn)識(shí)的單詞的時(shí)候可以進(jìn)行查閱,這樣既可以鍛煉孩子的自學(xué)能力,也能增加孩子的詞匯量。
