英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇1

  Ladies and Gentlemen,

I’m so happy to be here and it’s my great honor to join in the competition tonight. Everyone all has a dream. There is no exception [ksepn]for me.When I was a child, my dream was to be a scientist. Because my parents would like me to be a great person. At that time,I was too young to understand what the scientist is like and what he exactly [gzktli] does. I only considered about my parents’ wish on me. Because I wanted to make them happy and satisfied.

Now, I know what my dream is.My dream is to study economics and become an economist when I grow up. Because it feels very exciting and challenging [tlnd]but attractive [trktv] to me. I hope I could study this major at Nanjing University in the future. However, some ofmyclassmates often said it’s impossible and crazy. It will be dream that won’t come true.

But I disagreewith them. I know my math isn't good enough now to apply [pla] for this major right now. My family also think I should be a Chinese teacher.Because I am quite good at Chinese. But I don't think so. It’s fantastic for me to have a dream that I can pursue.I don't know if I will be regretted about my decision I made today. But I believethisis the goal[gl] I amstriving toward now. I will start to take actions to make dream come true that I’ll study Math harder and read more books about economics. It's the driving force and direction of my progress.

Everyone, to pursue a dream, we must stick to our dreams and never give up.Let’s all go hand in hand on the road of dream. Please believe that everything is possible.

This is a wonderful evening. Let me meet you and I have not dreaned of refuling !Thank you! Everyone here.

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇2

The dream, is your life buoy, dreams, are you a beautiful dream, dream, is your ideal wings. Have dreams, will have a future. Everyone has a dream, everyone is looking forward to the future. Dream of life as there is no loof aircraft navigation, the vessel lost a lighthouse, will be eliminated by society. As for the wave is mediocre, make efforts is wise move. How, we present here a hot-blooded youth who is willing to have the kind of a dead-alive person day? I believe that I will never, you never. In my childhood, I have a beautiful dream, different people ask me in here I get a different answer, all of these dreams, such as sky meteor, although unrealistic,

but through a childlike. Along with the growth of the age, I gradually understand, one must remember, not Chang Lizhi. After graduating from junior high school, I came to this beautiful city of Changsha, learning computer. When I sit in front of the computer, the tide of information was turned on me, was the first reaction is magic, magic after I conquered by it. From then on I to learn computer technology had a strong interest in, I silently said: it conquered me, I must conquer it. I know that my future in it will become indispensable in my life a part, at the same time, my dreams and goals have been born, it is to be an" excellent software engineers, to master the most cutting-edge computer technology". Therefore I in the school to seize every opportunity to learn, but the technology of the computer is like a bottomlepit, never find edges. Time passed quickly, three years have passed, graduating I, feel very disappointed with myself, think the so-called dream will become the bubble. At this time, a friend told me" Beida Jade Bird - ui software training" are students. In order to realize their dream of computer technique, so I chose to lead the school,

although only a short period of two months, but I have felt, UI is my dream platform. Students, let us take the" confidence in life two hundred years, will be when the water in 3000" courage," the road ahead will be long, I will seek" spirit, lit candles shining dreams, thoughts, we dream of flying, brightly painted life. I believe, in the near future, we will make our dreams become reality. Finally, I would like to invite all of the trainees, please put your hands, let us work together for the realization of the dream of tomorrow by acclamation!

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇3

nowadays more and more young people prefer to follow the fashion. the word 'fashion' is generally used to mean style in clothing. they make people handsome and cool. also, fashion can be something strange. from that we can be different from others. but all of these can change from time to time. and valuable personal qualities and characters never change. so i think they are the true fashions.

helpful and warm-hearted is a kind of fashion because not everyone can be like that. if you are not willing to help others, it is difficult for you to get along well with others. if you can always have a lot of friends, you are fashionable.

love is always important in the world. many people around the world need care and love. if you can show you love to the people in need, you are fashionable.

to protect the environment is fashion. if you don't use the plastic bags and do something to protect our earth, you are fashionable.

so let's form good personal qualities. let's follow the fashion.

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇5

Everybody will meet all kinds of difficulties during their lives, of course, they are willing to accept success, but the fact is that no one can win all the time, they will meet failure now and then. Fail is an unpleasant thing to face, people treat fail a bad thing. While for me, I think we can learn from failure and be a better man.

Everyone is afraid of facing failure, because failure brings them the sense of frustration. When facing failure, people choose to avoiding talking about it, they feel that they will be looked down upon by others. Indeed, no one likes to failure anything, they want to be successful all the time.

If people change their idea about failure, they can see the positive side. There is an old saying that failure is the mother of success, which means that people will learn from failure and make preparation for the success. So failure is not that hard to face, if people take right attitude towards it, they will gain success soon.

In a word, failure is not a bad something, it can bring success, only if people treat it right.

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇6

  East and West have met

runner-up: Rui Cheng gang, Foreign Affair College

  Honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen:

Kipling said:" East is east, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet!" But now, a century later, they have met.

They have met in business. They have met in education. They have met in the arts.

Some would argue that these meetings leave us with a choice between East and West ,but I believe the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds. We can make Western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use. We can enjoy the best of all worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selecting the best and making it our own.

But, do Western styles and values threaten our identity?

History makes it easy for us to think so-perhaps too easy.

Some people seem to think that adopting Western customs, such as a bride wearing white-which has long been a color of mourning in China, instead of the traditional Chinese red for her wedding, is another submission to foreign intervention,--a betrayal of our heritage, they say.

They fear that as we become "globalized", we will no longer be Chinese.

  I do not agree.

History teachers that a strong and confident nation is at ease in hearing from the outside world.

The wedding of Eastern and Western cultures, whether in white gowns or red, brings us variety.

It is a rich banquet of special foods from all over the world.

As an amateur gourmet of Chinese cuisine, our superb flavours delight me.

But my Chinese taste appreciates food from any land.

I even allow the convenience of McDonald's a place in my life without giving up my good taste.

My grandfather taught me to hum tunes of Beijing opera from the time I was very young; they are deep in my spirit, part of my soul.

I love Beijing opera, because it always reminds me of who I am.

But I am also a fan of modern pop music, the No.1 fan of Spice Girls on campus.

of course, it goes far beyond food, music and dance. It goes into values and ways of thinking about the world.

Once upon a time, or so my teacher told me, a Chinese boy and an American girl had a squabble.

Both wanted to keep a bunny rabbit they had found in the garden.

Surely you've seen a rabbit sunning himself in the grass.

Nothing is more lovable, nothing more natural. No wonder they wanted him. The Chinese boy played his er-hu. Happiness and joy, longing and passion, filled the air. The little rabbit swayed gently and began to move his ears in the direction of the music. He liked what he heard.

The girl then took out her violin and played it to produce beautiful melodies of her own.

The rabbit began to bounce in her direction.

So intent were the children on their own music that neither paid the other any attention.

The competing melodies confused the little rabbit and he did not know which way to turn .Unable to attract the little creature, both children gave up ;they walked away, in different directions, leaving the rabbit. . .alone.

But, what if they listened ,what if they really heard each other's music, instead of always playing their own tunes?

When I hear the music of a violin ,rich with the joys of men and women who came together and sang and danced.. . I hear echoes of the music of the grass lands, of the hills, of the rivers...of my own native land.

Is music mine and yours, or is it ours?

What I want to hear is the er-hu and the violin played together, in rhythm and in tune. Together, we can produce new and beautiful music, rich with textures and sounds that can only be made in harmony.

The rabbit sits in the grass in the ever-warming sun. Waiting for us to play, waiting for the symphony to begin.

Will he have to wait forever? The choice is ours . Thank you.

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇7

Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of abook, whose pages are infinite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’vealways liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it tobe. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reapa good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.

We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. Toanswer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youthis not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshneof thedeep spring of life.

A poet said “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wildflower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. Severaldays ago, I had a chance to listen to a lecture. I learnt a lot there. I’d liketo share it with all of you. Let’s show our right palms. We can see three linesthat show how our love.career and life is. I have a short line of life.

What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our future in this way.Well, let’s make a fist. Where is our future?

Where is our love, career, and life? Tell me.Yeah, it is in our hands. Itis held in ourselves.

We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can gobetter itself. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. From thepast, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt thatwe can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesn’tmean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way.Failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.

As what I said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of thefirst chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. The past has gone. Nothingwe do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what wegive to the world, the world will give to us. And from today on, let’s be theowners of ourselves, and speak out “We are the world, we are the future.”

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇8

Everyone knows that Halloween is on October 31st every year, and onHalloween, everyone is dressed in ghost costumes. Do you know why? Ha ha, I willtell you: because the western New Year in November, they think that the nightbefore New Year, there are a lot of haunted by the ghost, elves, goblins, vampires, we wear ghost costumes, they think we are ghosts, not afraid, so wehave to wear ghost costumes.

So why do you want to make a jack-o '-lantern? I'll tell you: because theywant to cheat us, for example the fallen angels, they are the enemy of mankind,we carved an image of a face on the pumpkin, they is a smile, when a foolmeeting you!

I think you know the origin of Halloween!

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇9

Technology is power, which is not proportionally distributed among creature. Human beings and other species belong to distinctively varied categories since men grasp the strength of technology. The people with great power, driven by their greedy instinct, can easily build their prosperity upon others species' or other human-beings' suffering and torment. With high-technology, people hunt and kill cetaceans in extremely high efficiency for extra food. Developed countries build polluting factories in Third World countries and earn the profits thousand miles away. They invade small countries for hypocritical reasons just to exploit its natural resources. Science and technology have turned this world into a dog-eat-dog wild jungle. What's worse, we barely feel guilty about the conducted evils because what we have to do is to push buttons and machines are our accomplices.

However, it is humanism that stops us from becoming complete animals. Humanism made us realize the significance of living in a harmonious world and turn our spotlight on building eco-friendly industry. In the past years, we stopped killing animals for nutrition we don't need. We passed laws and regulations to protect the least-advantaged people. Because of humanism, we started to consider human beings and nature as a whole and care more than just ourselves. We filled ourselves with reason, love and compassion. Humanism keeps reminding us the consequence of abusing the immense power of technology and the great responsibility we undertake.

As human, we are deeply conscious of our common humanity. There is no way we can walk away without being tortured by our conscience after we did so many damages on nature or other forms of life. Therefore, we modify our behavior to what we think it's humane. In this way, we gradually achieve the ultimate harmony between human and nature.

In fact, humanism has done much more than just making our conscience clear. It actually saves us from destroying our planet. We all know that we can't upset the balance of nature without a price although sometimes people choose to neglect the consequences and give in to the desire of fortune. Silent Spring, a very famous book written by Rachel Carson, revealed the fact that DDT and such chemical products could be very lethal to creatures like birds, and therefore they caused irreversible damage to our eco-system. The manufacturers knew exactly about the side effects but they chose to conceal the fact for their own interests. Without the humanists like Rachel Carson, we will remain ignorant and eventualy face our own doom desperately.

The role of humanism is absolutely indispensable. It gives us a unique opportunity to be wise and act in ways that elevate us above the animal kingdom. It retains our humanness. It prevents the world from being destroyed because of our destructive instinct. So ladies and gentlemen, let passion fill your sails, but let humanism be your rudder.

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇10

Questioning the universe

Stephen Hawking

There is nothing bigger or older than the universe. The questions I would like to talk about are: one, where did we come from? How did the universe come into being? Are we alone in the universe? Is there alien life out there? What is the future of the human race?

Up until the 1920s, everyone thought the universe was essentially static and unchanging in time. Then it was discovered that the universe was expanding. Distant galaxies were moving away from us. This meant they must have been closer together in the past. If we extrapolate back, we find we must have all been on top of each other about 15 billion years ago. This was the Big Bang, the beginning of the universe.

But was there anything before the Big Bang? If not, what created the universe? Why did the universe emerge from the Big Bang the way it did? We used to think that the theory of the universe could be divided into two parts. First, there were the laws like Maxwell's equations and general relativity that determined the evolution of the universe, given its state over all of space at one time. And second, there was no question of the initial state of the universe.

We have made good progress on the first part, and now have the knowledge of the laws of evolution in all but the most extreme conditions. But until recently, we have had little idea about the initial conditions for the universe. However, this division into laws of evolution and initial conditions depends on time and space being separate and distinct.

Under extreme conditions, general relativity and quantum theoryallow time to behave like another dimension of space. This removes the distinction between time and space, and means the laws of evolution can also determine the initial state. The universe can spontaneously create itself out of nothing.

Moreover, we can calculate a probability that the universe was created in different states. These predictions are in excellent agreement with observations by the WMAP satellite of the cosmic microwave background, which is an imprint of the very early universe. We think we have solved the mystery of creation. Maybe we should patent the universe and charge everyone royalties for their existence.

I now turn to the second big question: are we alone, or is there other life in the universe? We believe that life arose spontaneously on the Earth, so it must be possible for life to appear on other suitable planets, of which there seem to be a large number in the galaxy.

But we don't know how life first appeared. We have two pieces of observational evidence on the probability of life appearing. The first is that we have fossils of algae from 3.5 billion years ago. The Earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago and was probably too hot for about the first half billion years. So life appeared on Earth within half a billion years of it being possible, which is short compared to the 10-billion-year lifetime of a planet of Earth type. This suggests that the probability of life appearing is reasonably high. If it was very low, one would have expected it to take most of the ten billion years available.

On the other hand, we don't seem to have been visited by aliens. I am discounting the reports of UFOs.Why would they appear only to cranks and weirdos? If there is a government conspiracy to suppress the reports and keep for itself the scientific knowledge the aliens bring, it seems to have been a singularly ineffective policy so far. Furthermore, despite an extensive search by the SETI project, we haven't heard any alien television quiz shows. This probably indicates that there are no alien civilizations at our stage of development within a radius of a few hundred light years. Issuing an insurance policy against abduction by aliens seems a pretty safe bet.

This brings me to the last of the big questions: the future of the human race. If we are the only intelligent beings in the galaxy, we should make sure we survive and continue. But we are entering an increasingly dangerous period of our history. Our population and our use of the finite resources of planet Earth are growing exponentially, along with our technical ability to change the environment for good or ill. But our genetic code still carries the selfish and aggressive instincts that were of survival advantage in the past. It will be difficult enough to avoid disaster in the next hundred years, let alone the next thousand or million.

Our only chance of long-term survival is not to remain inward-looking on planet Earth, but to spread out into space. The answers to these big questions show that we have made remarkable progress in the last hundred years. But if we want to continue beyond the next hundred years, our future is in space. That is why I am in favor of manned — or should I say, personned — space flight.

All of my life I have sought to understand the universe and find answers to these questions. I have been very lucky that my disability has not been a serious handicap. Indeed, it has probably given me more time than most people to pursue the quest for knowledge. The ultimate goal is a complete theory of the universe, and we are making good progress. Thank you for listening.

Chris Anderson: Professor, if you had to guess either way, do you now believe that it is more likely than not that we are alone in the Milky Way, as a civilization of our level of intelligence or higher? This answer took seven minutes, and really gave me an insight into the incredible act of generosity this whole talk was for TED.

Stephen Hawking: I think it quite likely that we are the only civilization within several hundred light years; otherwise we would have heard radio waves. The alternative is that civilizations don't last very long, but destroy themselves.

CA: Professor Hawking, thank you for that answer. We will take it as a salutary warning, I think, for the rest of our conference this week. Professor, we really thank you for the extraordinary effort you madeto share your questions with us today. Thank you very much indeed.

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇11

  Good afternoon, my dear friends.

One day in 1819, 3,000 miles off the coast of Chile, in one of the most remote regions of the Pacific Ocean, 20 American sailors watched their ship flood with seawater.

They'd been struck by a sperm whale, which had ripped a catastrophic hole in the ship's hull. As their ship began to sink beneath the swells, the men huddled together in three small whaleboats.

These men were 10,000 miles from home, more than 1,000 miles from the nearest scrap of land. In their small boats, they carried only rudimentary navigational equipment and limited supplies of food and water.

These were the men of the whaleship Essex, whose story would later inspire parts of “Moby Dick.”

Even in today's world, their situation would be really dire, but think about how much worse it would have been then.

No one on land had any idea that anything had gone wrong. No search party was coming to look for these men. So most of us have never experienced a situation as frightening as the one in which these sailors found themselves, but we all know what it's like to be afraid.

We know how fear feels, but I'm not sure we spend enough time thinking about what our fears mean.

As we grow up, we're often encouraged to think of fear as a weakness, just another childish thing to discard like baby teeth or roller skates.

And I think it's no accident that we think this way. Neuroscientists have actually shown that human beings are hard'wired to be optimists.

So maybe that's why we think of fear, sometimes, as a danger in and of itself. “Don't worry,” we like to say to one another. “Don't panic.” In English, fear is something we conquer. It's something we fight.

It's something we overcome. But what if we looked at fear in a fresh way? What if we thought of fear as an amazing act of the imagination, something that can be as profound and insightful as storytelling itself?

It's easiest to see this link between fear and the imagination in young children, whose fears are often extraordinarily vivid.

When I was a child, I lived in California, which is, you know, mostly a very nice place to live, but for me as a child, California could also be a little scary.

I remember how frightening it was to see the chandelier that hung above our dining table swing back and forth during every minor earthquake, and I sometimes couldn't sleep at night, terrified that the Big One might strike while we were sleeping.

And what we say about kids who have fears like that is that they have a vivid imagination. But at a certain point, most of us learn to leave these kinds of visions behind and grow up.

We learn that there are no monsters hiding under the bed, and not every earthquake brings buildings down. But maybe it's no coincidence that some of our most creative minds fail to leave these kinds of fears behind as adults.

Everyone knows that diligence is the key to success. As a proverb goes: “Diligence is the mother of success.” Diligence means working hard andpersistently.

All famous people of great achievements are examples of diligence. They allowe their success to hard work. Without constant efforts, no one can expect tosucceed in doing anything great. Thomas Edison kept on working hard for a longtime before he was able to invent he electric light. Madame Curie worked hard inthe poor conditions for many years before she finally discovered radium. Somepeople may attribute success to good luck. But good luck favors those who arewell prepared and diligent people who can make use of it. So idleness can onlylead to poverty. If you do not devote yourself to your study and work, you canhardly make a living, let alone make some accomplishments.

As high school students, we must be aware that the only way to success ishard work. We must concentrate our attention on our studies, and make full useof our precious time, in order to meet the fierce challenges in the futurecompetitions. It is certain that our future success will only rest on ourconstant efforts. As a proverb goes: “Only by working hard can we reap a bumperharvest.”

I saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, “I’m proud of you, China ”.

The past two days are special for the 7.23 million examinees and their parents. It is the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao in Chinese). Based on the current education system in China, the result of the two day exam greatly impacts the future of any students in China. The score will decide whether you can receive college education. For most places in China, only half of the students are eligible for college education (only 3.40 million will be admitted to colleges in 2019) and the rest has to start work after high-school. In cities like Beijing and Shanghai, students are lucky enough to have a much higher ratio (more than 70%) to enter colleges.

Tsinghua, Peking University, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University are among the first class in China. But only very few people can go there.

To enter a college or not, or to enter a good college or not directly impact the first offer they can get after graduate and impact their career. So it is the most critical time for students.

Isaac recorded the "No Honking During Gaokao" sign. I saw the same sign near Henan Rd. and Zhaojiabang Rd.. Not only honking is not allowed. All construction sites around schools were ordered to work in limited time in the recent 10 days. Thousands of policemen are working around schools to make sure there is no noise or traffic jam during the two important days. Taxi drivers even offer free ride to transport examinees and their family.

  ladies and gentlemen,

i have had a lot of teachers in my school who have given me much help in my study. for their help i will never forget them. but today i am going to talk about a special teacher of mine. this teacher is not a human being and its name is“computer”. it has been teaching me a lot of knowledge and i appreciate it very much.

with the development of modern science and technology, computers are widely used in every teritories including education. how can a computer be my teacher? how does a computer teach me? multimedia(多媒體)helps a lot in this aspect in recent years, and computer-based training (cbt) has become a popular educational medium (手段). even before the multimedia come up, many different learning systems appeared, using the components and techniques we now associate with the term “multimedia”. multimedia components, such as graphics (動畫) , animations , sound and video, make the learning process easier through visualization. animations can present many comple_ subjects dynamically, but human teachers can not do this on blackboards. multimedia makes our study more lively and interesting. for e_ample, a cd-rom disk named “encarta encyclopedia” contains 650 mb information including images, graphics, music clips, video clips, animations , te_ts, hotwords, and database search functions. fields involved includes physical

sciences, performance arts, social sciences, politics, military, education and so on. when pressing a button, i can hear american president clinton's speech clip. i may enjoy playing all kinds of musical instruments in the world. i can also see the animation of many physical phenomena. this makes physical concept to be understood deeply. the audio features of multimedia can greatly help me learning foreign languages. with its speech output capabilities, i'm no longer dependent on an instructor for proper pronunciation.

how can i interact with a computer? there are many ways, including keyboard, mouse pointer, and touch screen. i often use a keyboard. when i press right keys, i can see and hear whatever i want. information world is at my fingertip. i wish that true speech input-output system would be invented one day.

as teachers, computers have a lot of virtues: they are positive, they have good memories and never lose any information stored in them. they have much knowledge in every field. they can let out all kinds of sounds, and can also improve the efficiency of our study. for e_ample, if i want to, i can skip some chapters so that i can study at my own pace.

although computers will never take the place of human teachers, they are welcomed by more and more learners. computers will continue to evolve(發(fā)展)with the aid of modern technologies. computers are so powerful, helpful and important that everybody needs it, especially in the future! i love my computer teacher!

as we know, you have to learn how to fly much more independently instead of under your parents’ considerate protection when you get into college, which also means you will come across enormous questions that should be solved by yourself. from my point of view, those main problems can fall into three parts.

first of all, the complicated relationship. for one thing, you have to know how cultural differences function in your relationship and respect them. in addition, college students spend less time studying together owing to different courses’ choosing, which requires us to devote more energy to building relationship. for the other thing, it is also vital to communicate with your parents often by using mobile phones or other tools.

The day before yesterday, someone gave me a phone call.he said“che ,i am your leader, come to my office room right now”so i felt anxious and said”who are you?and what did i do?”.he just said”i am just your leader”.i realized he is a cheater.so i said”i will call the police”he hung up immediately.so i felt scared.and i have a question:who leak my information? Ten years ago,i have never thought our personal information is important.but now if your phone number is leaked, you will be drowned in a sea of junk short message.the ID card number is one of your most important personal information.because your bank card, driving license, student card and personal resume are both binding to your ID card number.so if your ID card number leaked, that completely is a disaster. How did my information leak? In some film, a hacker use a computer attack a website and get many information.that is true.many computer virus can do this.and today is the age of big data, a good hacker can get your password from your other information.for example,a hacker build a false website, and you register for an account.the hacker would get your password and your email address. Sometimes the password is your bank account password. He just need to send you a e-mail with computer virus.your bank account and password will be leaked. So what should we do to protect our information security? First of all we shouldn’t tell others our personal information.most of the information leakage event is from our carelessness.besides,we shouldn’t register for an account easily.and i still hold a belief on don’t using number is the best way to protect information security

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇20

I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word, it is victory. Victory at all costs—victory in spite of all terrors—victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival. Let that be realized, no survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that British Empire has stood for , no survival for the urge, the impulse of the ages, that mankind shall more forward toward his goal. I take up my task in buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. I feel entitled at this juncture, at this time, to claim the aid of all and to say, “Come then, let us go forward together with our united strength.”

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇21

I'm a lifelong traveler. Even as a little kid, I was actually working out that it would be cheaper to go to boarding school in England than just to the best school down the road from my parents' house in California.

So, from the time I was nine years old I was flying alone several times a year over the North Pole, just to go to school. And of course the more I flew the more I came to love to fly, so the very week after I graduated from high school, I got a job mopping tables so that I could spend every season of my 18th year on a different continent.

And then, almost inevitably, I became a travel writer so my job and my joy could become one.

And I really began to feel that if you were lucky enough to walk around the candlelit temples of Tibet or to wander along the seafronts in Havana with music passing all around you, you could bring those sounds and the high cobalt skies and the flash of the blue ocean back to your friends at home, and really bring some magic and clarity to your own life.

Except, as you all know, one of the first things you learn when you travel is that nowhere is magical unless you can bring the right eyes to it.

You take an angry man to the Himalayas, he just starts complaining about the food. And I found that the best way that I could develop more attentive and more appreciative eyes was, oddly, by going nowhere, just by sitting still.

And of course sitting still is how many of us get what we most crave and need in our accelerated lives, a break. But it was also the only way that I could find to sift through the slideshow of my experience and make sense of the future and the past.

And so, to my great surprise, I found that going nowhere was at least as exciting as going to Tibet or to Cuba.

And by going nowhere, I mean nothing more intimidating than taking a few minutes out of every day or a few days out of every season, or even, as some people do, a few years out of a life in order to sit still long enough to find out what moves you most, to recall where your truest happiness lies and to remember that sometimes making a living and making a life point in opposite directions.

And of course, this is what wise beings through the centuries from every tradition have been telling us.

It's an old idea. More than 2,000 years ago, the Stoics were reminding us it's not our experience that makes our lives, it's what we do with it.

Imagine a hurricane suddenly sweeps through your town and reduces every last thing to rubble. One man is traumatized for life.

But another, maybe even his brother, almost feels liberated, and decides this is a great chance to start his life anew. It's exactly the same event, but radically different responses. There is nothing either good or bad, as Shakespeare told us in "Hamlet," but thinking makes it so.

And this has certainly been my experience as a traveler. Twenty-four years ago I took the most mind-bending trip across North Korea. But the trip lasted a few days.

英語演講稿:I Have a Dream 篇24

It is quite imporlant to be a good listener. effective listening is more than simply avoiding the bad habit of interrupting others while they are speaking. its being content to listen to the entire thought of someone rather than waiting impatiently for your chance to respond.

Slowing down your responses and becoming a better listener aids you in becoming a more amiable person. as you wait for the person you are communicating with to finish, as you simply listen more intently to what is being said, you will feel more relaed, and so will the people you are talking to. not only will being a better listener make you a more patient person, but it will also improve your relationship with others because everyone loves to talk to someone who truly listens to what they are saying.

It is quite easy for you to be a better listener. as long as you for get yourself and imagine yourself in the speakers eperience to understand the emotion behind the words, and then give your appropriate responses slowly, you will be an endeared listener.
