Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20xx Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction.
Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment, for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?
I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China. But I think everyone should use some time to think of this question, ”Does the Olympic Games have any special meaning to you?”

一、轉(zhuǎn)變課堂教學(xué)模式
有人認(rèn)為歷史是一門老師好教、學(xué)生好學(xué)的學(xué)科。對于學(xué)生來說，不需要有什么基礎(chǔ)，只要認(rèn)真學(xué)習(xí)就不會(huì)有太大的問題。但是在現(xiàn)實(shí)教學(xué)中我所面臨的問題是：有的學(xué)生不愛學(xué)，學(xué)的不認(rèn)真、不積極，惰性極強(qiáng)。面對這種情況，我在上課時(shí)靈活運(yùn)用“五步短動(dòng)式教學(xué)法”，將課堂分解為“看一看”、“說一說”、“聽一聽”、“議一議”、“練一練”五個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)，穿插于整節(jié)課,使師生之間一直處于互動(dòng)狀態(tài)，盡量提高學(xué)生注意力。敢于放手，注意培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的各方面能力，把大部分的講授時(shí)間交還給學(xué)生使用,發(fā)揮學(xué)生的主體作用。在課堂上不

二、小組評價(jià)機(jī)制滲透到課堂內(nèi)外
課堂上組織學(xué)生以學(xué)習(xí)小組為單位參與學(xué)習(xí)，回答問題即可得到相應(yīng)的'分?jǐn)?shù)，然后把分?jǐn)?shù)統(tǒng)計(jì)作為評選“優(yōu)秀小組”的依據(jù)。尤其對一些學(xué)困生，我往往采用學(xué)困生答對問題加雙倍分，幫助他們樹立自信心，不放棄學(xué)習(xí)。利用小組評價(jià)機(jī)制也打破了課堂沉悶、死板的狀態(tài)，激發(fā)了學(xué)生主動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí)的熱情。我還把小組評價(jià)機(jī)制沿用到課后的作業(yè)和知識(shí)點(diǎn)背誦的檢查中。在作業(yè)中，書寫工整、規(guī)范并且及時(shí)改錯(cuò)的就給予加分;而對于那些不認(rèn)真完成作業(yè)、不及時(shí)改錯(cuò)的就減分，并鼓勵(lì)他們在課堂上通過積極參與課堂將因?yàn)樽约核鶃G的分?jǐn)?shù)賺回來。在知識(shí)點(diǎn)背誦的檢查中，凡是按照老師要求全組同學(xué)都背誦完的就給予加分，班上第一個(gè)背誦完的小組給予雙倍加分。大大提升了學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的積極性。通過一個(gè)學(xué)期的實(shí)踐，證明小組評價(jià)機(jī)制的運(yùn)用是行之有效的。
三、重視學(xué)生興趣的培養(yǎng)
“愛好是最好的導(dǎo)師”，沒有興趣，學(xué)習(xí)就會(huì)成為負(fù)擔(dān)。有了興趣，學(xué)習(xí)就成為一種需求，就學(xué)得輕松愉快，動(dòng)力無窮。歷史課是一門非常有趣的科目，一節(jié)優(yōu)秀的歷史課應(yīng)該設(shè)法將生動(dòng)、鮮活的歷史呈現(xiàn)在學(xué)生面前，不能只是枯燥地灌輸和強(qiáng)迫學(xué)生死記那些歷史知識(shí)。在我進(jìn)行歷史教學(xué)時(shí)，經(jīng)常運(yùn)用多媒體教學(xué)手段，播放一些紀(jì)錄片、電影資料或相關(guān)的歌曲，創(chuàng)造歷史情境，讓學(xué)生置身其中，激發(fā)他們對歷史的學(xué)習(xí)興趣。例如，在講授《鄭和下西洋》時(shí)，我播放了一段紀(jì)錄片資料，不需要深入解釋，學(xué)生就能理解這個(gè)部分的主要內(nèi)容。在講授《蒙古的建立及元朝的統(tǒng)一》中的“行省制”時(shí)，通過課件演示將抽象的內(nèi)容具體化，調(diào)動(dòng)學(xué)生的各種感觀，加強(qiáng)對知識(shí)的掌握。學(xué)生對歷史產(chǎn)生了興趣，課堂上所講的知識(shí)會(huì)更加深刻，提高了學(xué)習(xí)效果。

構(gòu)建歷史知識(shí)體系有助于厘清歷史知識(shí)的線索，使其更具系統(tǒng)性和條理性，從而提升學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)成績。因此，在我講授新課時(shí)，我非常注重與舊知識(shí)點(diǎn)的關(guān)聯(lián)，并重視引導(dǎo)學(xué)生構(gòu)建自己的“歷史知識(shí)體系”，力求讓他們形成每一課、每一個(gè)單元以及整本書的獨(dú)特的知識(shí)體系。這樣，在復(fù)習(xí)時(shí)，學(xué)生的思路將更加清晰明了，能夠節(jié)省大量時(shí)間，顯著提高學(xué)習(xí)效率。

一、注重預(yù)習(xí)。
“預(yù)習(xí)”是一種良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣，是課堂教學(xué)中的重要環(huán)節(jié)。它作為學(xué)習(xí)過程的起始階段，是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生自學(xué)能力的重要途徑，在提高學(xué)習(xí)效率方面有著重要的作用。它不僅能幫學(xué)生“學(xué)會(huì)”知識(shí)，更能幫助學(xué)生“會(huì)學(xué)”知識(shí)。做好預(yù)習(xí)工作，功在課外，利在課內(nèi)。我們有以下幾個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)：
1、布置預(yù)習(xí)作業(yè)。
在寒暑假來臨之前，學(xué)校要求每位教師給學(xué)生特別布置假期預(yù)習(xí)作業(yè)。為了使預(yù)習(xí)有章可循，教師列出預(yù)習(xí)提綱，分發(fā)給每個(gè)學(xué)生。針對預(yù)習(xí)內(nèi)容，教師必須提出明確的預(yù)習(xí)要求。而且預(yù)習(xí)要求必須合理，正確，有可操作性。我們給學(xué)生布置了預(yù)習(xí)前三單元的內(nèi)容，具體到哪一天預(yù)習(xí)哪幾頁單詞，背會(huì)哪部分對話，掌握哪幾個(gè)句型，理解哪項(xiàng)語法內(nèi)容。此外，每日摘抄一句英語諺語，兩天一篇閱讀理解，五天一篇英語練筆（小作文）。
2、指導(dǎo)預(yù)習(xí)方法。
針對不同的教學(xué)內(nèi)容指導(dǎo)學(xué)生選用合適的預(yù)習(xí)方法，通過查閱資料、聽錄音帶、網(wǎng)絡(luò)學(xué)習(xí)、向哥哥姐姐求教等多種方法來學(xué)習(xí)。例如：會(huì)話練習(xí)可以采用查一查，補(bǔ)一補(bǔ)，說一說的方法；句型練習(xí)可以采用找一找，歸一歸，比一比的方法；閱讀練習(xí)可以采用劃一劃，查一查，寫一寫的方法。我們知道“授之一魚，只供一餐，授之以漁，可享一生。”只要堅(jiān)持運(yùn)用科學(xué)的方法培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的預(yù)習(xí)習(xí)慣，學(xué)生們一定會(huì)學(xué)會(huì)預(yù)習(xí)，運(yùn)用預(yù)習(xí)，學(xué)會(huì)學(xué)習(xí)，為他們的終身學(xué)習(xí)奠下良好的基礎(chǔ).
3、爭取得到家長的配合。
為了學(xué)生在假期期間更好地完成預(yù)習(xí)作業(yè)，使預(yù)習(xí)作業(yè)更有成效，我們學(xué)校在放假前特意召開了家長會(huì)，把學(xué)校的想法、做法與家長們溝通交流，期望家長能做好督促檢查工作。事實(shí)證明，我們得到了很多家長的配合。
4、檢查預(yù)習(xí)效果。
檢查學(xué)生預(yù)習(xí)是否到位，存在有哪些問題，以便今后教學(xué)做到有的放矢。開學(xué)的第二天，我們學(xué)校就組織了各科的預(yù)習(xí)考試。成績上報(bào)學(xué)校，并作出效果分析。由于我們英語學(xué)科的特點(diǎn)，初二學(xué)生在預(yù)習(xí)單詞和每單元的語法聚焦兩方面比較好，但知識(shí)點(diǎn)和句型的靈活運(yùn)用還有待提高。
二、抓好教研組建設(shè)。
學(xué)校是一個(gè)大群體，而教研組是一個(gè)小群體，教師是這個(gè)群體中的成員，我們每位教師的成長與發(fā)展都離不開這個(gè)群體。我校在抓教研組建設(shè)方面工作做得扎實(shí)，有條不紊，為每位教師的發(fā)展搭建了平臺(tái)。積極開展教研組的說、上、評課活動(dòng)，要求人人過關(guān)。緊緊圍繞教研組的活動(dòng)專題，重視對學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣培養(yǎng)的研究，和對學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí)意識(shí)培養(yǎng)的研究。通過教研活動(dòng)，使本教研組全體英語教師共同提高，人人受益。也讓我感受到了集體的力量是無窮的，實(shí)現(xiàn)了教師之間，同伴之間的團(tuán)結(jié)協(xié)作。一個(gè)人有困難時(shí)，大家都來幫助，讓她從困境中走出，不斷發(fā)展自己，提高自己，身處在這樣一個(gè)教師群體中，我深感榮幸。
三、加強(qiáng)備課組的集體備課。
集體備課是發(fā)揮群體優(yōu)勢，提高備課質(zhì)量的重要途徑，也是落實(shí)教學(xué)常規(guī)，提高課堂教學(xué)效率的.必要措施。我校很重視英語教研，特別安排了主抓教學(xué)的劉校長下組監(jiān)督指導(dǎo)，使活動(dòng)有計(jì)劃、有目標(biāo)、有實(shí)效。我們英語備課組的三位教師積極組織集體備課，研究教學(xué)內(nèi)容，研究學(xué)生，進(jìn)度，研究教學(xué)方法，安排及教學(xué)資料做到一致。我們每周至少活動(dòng)一次，時(shí)間固定，有活動(dòng)記錄。每次活動(dòng)都定有中心發(fā)言人，定活動(dòng)的主題，不走形式，不敷衍了事，切實(shí)解決教學(xué)中的一些問題，努力提高課堂教學(xué)質(zhì)量，完善教學(xué)，規(guī)范我們的教學(xué)行為，向課堂40分鐘要質(zhì)量。
四、培養(yǎng)學(xué)生自主探究學(xué)習(xí)的能力。
本學(xué)年我們學(xué)校一直倡導(dǎo)培養(yǎng)學(xué)生自主探究學(xué)習(xí)的能力。要求教學(xué)要以學(xué)生為主體，轉(zhuǎn)變角色，成為學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的引導(dǎo)者、幫助者。在課堂中要求教師要“少講多學(xué)”，即教師少講，學(xué)生多學(xué)。堅(jiān)持放手原則：凡是學(xué)生能讀的就讓學(xué)生讀，凡是學(xué)生能說的就讓學(xué)生說，凡是學(xué)生能想的就讓學(xué)生想，凡是學(xué)生能討論的就讓學(xué)生討論，凡是學(xué)生能寫的就讓學(xué)生寫，凡是學(xué)生能做的就讓學(xué)生做。給學(xué)生自學(xué)時(shí)間、提問時(shí)間、讀書時(shí)間和練習(xí)時(shí)間。在教學(xué)中，我們鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生嘗試地交流、討論、質(zhì)疑、解惑；把問的權(quán)利交給學(xué)生，把講的機(jī)會(huì)讓給學(xué)生，讓學(xué)生參與到知識(shí)形成的過程中，并從中感受到“參與之樂，思維之趣，成功之悅”。

Ladies and Gentlemen: My topic is Honesty.
As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon's tooth. This is a true story.
65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.
In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon's mouth.
He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.
When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one's error.
Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let's be honest people of good moral character.
