我最喜歡的節(jié)日 My Favorite Holiday

　　As a student, I have summer and winter vacation. I will make some plans during that time and enjoy the long holiday. However, my favorite holiday is Mid-autumn festival, though it is just about three days’ off, I enjoy the great moment with my families.

　　Mid-autumn festival is one of Chinese traditional festivals. It has a story about a man and his extraordinary wife. It is said that once there are ten suns and people can’t nearly make a living, so the man who has the great power decides to shot down nine suns. But his wife steals the medicine which can help the man to be stronger. After she eats it, she flies to the moon and live alone.

　　This beautiful myth makes Mid-autumn festival meaningful. During the festival, people eat mooncakes, which are very special and delicious for me. I like this festival because I can spend time with my family. In the daytime, we prepare food. When night comes, the whole families sit at the balcony and appreciate the moon. At this moment, we talk happily, which is very unforgettable.

　　中秋節(jié)是中國(guó)的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日之一。關(guān)于它有一個(gè)傳說(shuō)，是一個(gè)男人和他不平凡的妻子的故事。據(jù)說(shuō)天上曾經(jīng)有十個(gè)太陽(yáng)，人們幾乎無(wú)法生存，所以這個(gè)具有神力的男人決定射落九個(gè)太陽(yáng)。但他的妻子偷了那些可以讓這個(gè)男人變得更強(qiáng)壯的藥自己吃了，之后她就飛到月亮上，獨(dú)自生活了。

父親節(jié) Father's Day

　　The first father's day was in June, 5th, 1910, United Stated. In 1909, a lady called Bruce Dodd put forward that people should establish father’s day. At that time, people only celebrated the mother's day, but nobody celebrate father's day yet. Lady Dodd had lost her mother when she was very young, her father raised her grew up. Lady Dodd was so thankful for what her father had done for her that she wrote a letter to the government. In the letter, she appeals to establish the father's day. The government accepted her suggestion and decided that the third Sunday of June is the national father’s day. In 1972, the president Nixon had passed the law and agreed that the father’s day is on June the third Sunday. From this year, the world started to celebrate father’s day.

　　On this special day, the children usually dedicate flowers to their fathers. The red roses to those who still alive, while the white ones to the fallings. Fathers always are considered being the central of the whole family. Without father in the family, home may feel insecure. The father always fights for the family and support the family. On this day, we can do something for our fathers. For instance, we can make a breakfast for them, or buy them a nice tie. We should spend more time with our father, show our love to them.

　　The father’s day is coming, take this chance, and tell our fathers that we love him. Happy father’s day!

圣誕節(jié)對(duì)我的意義 What Christmas Day Means to Me

　　Christmas Day is very popular around the world, when that day comes, we can see the Christmas products sell everywhere, though Christmas Day is not originating from China, in our country, more and more people spend that day. A foreigner pointed out that Christmas meant to be grateful for them, while for Chinese people, it was just a day for celebrating. To me, Christmas indeed means a day to have fun.

　　When I was small, I did not have the concept of Christmas, because in my mind, I only knew Chinese traditional festivals, I liked Spring Festival best, I could get a lot of money from parents. When I went to high school, all of my friends would talk about Christmas Day when the day was near, so I started to know it. Almost every young people like Christmas, but if you ask them what the meaning of the day, less of them can answer.

　　The meaning of Christmas Day is to remind people of Jesus’s birth, it is so important for the western people, but for me, I only want to have fun, everyone is celebrating it, so I join them, being happy, that’s enough for me.

　　圣誕節(jié)在全世界都很流行，當(dāng)那天來(lái)臨的時(shí)候，我們可以看到到處都在賣(mài)圣誕產(chǎn)品，雖然圣誕節(jié)不是起源于中國(guó)，但是在我們國(guó)家，越來(lái)越多的人過(guò)圣誕節(jié)。有位外國(guó)人指出圣誕節(jié)對(duì)于他們來(lái)說(shuō)意味著感恩，然而對(duì)于中國(guó)人來(lái)說(shuō)，那僅僅只是用來(lái)慶祝的日子。對(duì)于我來(lái)說(shuō)，圣誕確實(shí)意味著玩得開(kāi)心。

　　當(dāng)我還小的時(shí)候，我沒(méi)有圣誕的概念，因?yàn)樵谖业哪X海里，我只知道中國(guó)的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日，我最喜歡春節(jié)，我可以從父母那里得到很多錢(qián)。當(dāng)我上高中，我所有的朋友都會(huì)在圣誕節(jié)臨近前談?wù)撍�，所以我開(kāi)始知道圣誕節(jié)。幾乎所有的年輕人都喜歡圣誕，但是如果你問(wèn)他們圣誕節(jié)的意義，很少人能答得上。

　　圣誕節(jié)的意義在于提醒人們耶穌的誕辰，這對(duì)于西方人來(lái)說(shuō)是很重要的，但是對(duì)于我來(lái)說(shuō)，我只是想要玩得開(kāi)心，大家都在慶祝它，所以我加入他們， 我很開(kāi)心，這就足夠了。
