新教材與初中的教材跨度很大，要求也上了幾個臺階，對孩子們具有比較大的難度。細心的家長可能就會發(fā)現(xiàn)，高中的課本和初中的課本相比，無論是從詞匯量，語法還是課文篇幅的長短都有了明顯的區(qū)別，初中的內(nèi)容相當簡單，它簡直就是三年級知識的鞏固，稍微有所延伸，而高一一下子就接觸并需要掌握兩種時態(tài)。所以，有些同學很不能適應，初中學得輕松，還考好成績，怎么到了高一不行了，這樣的現(xiàn)象很普遍，說到底，還是好的習慣沒有養(yǎng)成，不夠勤奮。在這里，我要點名表揚幾位學生，她們學習態(tài)度端正，上課認真，書寫工整，正因為如此，無論什么考試都能取得很好的成績。另外我還要提幾個同學，他們的潛力很大，但因為還不夠認真刻苦，所以沒有發(fā)揮出自己最好的水平，希望家長能夠配合老師，把孩子的成績抓上去。我堅信：如果您的孩子在您的支持和我的指導下能夠及時完成我布置的任務，那么一定能學好。要教導您的孩子一開始就要有吃苦耐勞的精神。堅持嚴謹?shù)膶W習作風，成績馬上就會見效。
目前的形勢決定了英語學科的重要性，請各位家長務必重視英語這一學科，你們思想上重視了，無形中也給孩子以熏陶，重視與不重視肯定是完全不同的，在英語課堂上，大部分學生都能很活躍的回答老師提出的問題，積極跟著老師拼讀單詞，朗讀課文。其實這也制造了一種假象，學生認為自己常常被老師提問，認為自己能夠回答老師的問題，于是認為自己的英語學得很不錯，自我感覺特別好。于是下課后在英語上花的時間就少了。其實要學好英語，課上占40%，其余的60%還需要學生在課后不斷的鞏固，加深記憶。在課上老師更多的是教授新知識，當然課上也會有少量的時間鞏固新學的知識。但是這些時間是公共的時間，而不是每個學生私有的時間，所以不可能照顧到每個學生，不可能讓所有學生都達到相同的程度。況且每個學生對新知識得接受能力都是不同的，有的可能當堂就已經(jīng)有很深的印象，很難忘記，但這肯定是很少的。大部分學生都只能是初步接觸了新知識，要真正接受新知識還要學生在課后多下功夫，不然肯定會和別的同學拉下差距。
那么在課后學生到底該怎么做才能把其余的60%補回來呢？英語畢竟不是我們自己的語言，大多數(shù)學生除了英語課其余時間根本就不會想到要說英語，所以，在課后一定要主動抽時間為自己補習英語。學好英語，不外乎就是在聽，說，讀，寫這些方面下功夫。
首先說一下聽，每個學生都有和書相配套的磁帶，可是請各位家長檢查一下自己的子女的英語磁帶，有多少學生的磁帶還是和剛發(fā)的時候一樣的，根本就沒有聽過。不要說另外買什么英語聽力磁帶或者英語學習的碟片了，連自己手頭的磁帶都不去聽，光靠上課聽一點點的磁帶，學生的聽力根本就不能有什么發(fā)展。不會聽就不能說，而說白了，學了英語就是要說，那不是白學了么？聽錄音機跟讀，目的應該是兩種，一種同學是上課沒有完全消化，聽錄音是補充學習的過程，另外一種是提高自己的聽力和口語表達能力，要學生盡力地去模仿錄音機里的發(fā)音，從而使自己的聽力和口語都提高一個層次。
接下來是說，英語是一門語言，學了就是要說，要和別人交流。我們學的英語不應該是啞巴英語，要讓每個學生學會勇敢地說出來。在課上我會用各種方法來刺激學生，激發(fā)他們說英語的積極性，大多數(shù)學生也確實做得很好。可是班級里人多，對每個人來說，說的機會就少。所以下課也要說；放學回家也要說。在學校，我鼓勵學生把所學的英語對話運用到生活中去，這樣有更真實的情景，更能讓學生有發(fā)揮的余地。在家里，希望家長也能鼓勵學生說英語，也許你會說你自己也聽不懂，請不要這樣想，其實學生需要是你的鼓勵，你聽了他們說的只要簡單表揚一句，他們就會很滿足了。有時候你們也可以不懂裝懂，或者還可以讓學生反過來教你，他們會覺得很自豪，因為自己所學得派上了用場。
接下來是讀。有句話：“讀書破萬卷，下筆如有神。”學英語也是這樣，很多家長也明白，學英語要培養(yǎng)語感，也就是語言的感覺，如果有很好的語感，那么不管是說話，做題目，還是寫文章，都很輕松，很簡單了。那么語感怎么來呢？就是靠讀出來的。一定要讓學生養(yǎng)成每天讀英語的習慣，這是學英語的最基本的學習習慣了。每天早上一定要讀20分鐘左右的英語，哪怕有時候時間來不及了，即使是遲到也要讀，并且每天都堅持，絕不因任何原因間斷。無論什么事情都貴在堅持嘛。如果你的子女還沒有養(yǎng)成這樣的學習習慣，請你一定要督促他，剛開始也許會比較難，時間久了，就會習慣成自然。就像早上起來要刷牙洗臉一樣，要讓他們把讀英語當作每天必做的`一件事。
