　　半年的共同學(xué)習(xí)，使我半喜半憂，喜的是，我們高一三班的學(xué)生都很聰明，接受能力強(qiáng)，學(xué)習(xí)起來顯得很輕松，讓我覺得憂慮的是：部分孩子對英語不太重視。（包括與個別家長的交流中，發(fā)現(xiàn)有家長也未重視）可能這里也包含許多家長覺得英語不太好輔導(dǎo)，你說語文數(shù)學(xué)吧，還懂點(diǎn)，這英語吧，還真是不好不懂裝懂，所以導(dǎo)致相當(dāng)一部分的孩子英語基礎(chǔ)打得很不牢，個別的孩子甚至拼讀、書寫、背誦等學(xué)習(xí)英語的好習(xí)慣還沒有很好的養(yǎng)成，需要從頭開始。但是，孩子們上課時的專注同時也讓我感到欣喜。認(rèn)真的孩子一定能把英語學(xué)好！

　　我確信：英語要學(xué)好和智商無關(guān)，學(xué)不好英語的人都是懶惰的人。

　　新教材與初中的教材跨度很大，要求也上了幾個臺階，對孩子們具有比較大的難度。細(xì)心的家長可能就會發(fā)現(xiàn)，高中的課本和初中的課本相比，無論是從詞匯量，語法還是課文篇幅的長短都有了明顯的區(qū)別，初中的內(nèi)容相當(dāng)簡單，它簡直就是三年級知識的鞏固，稍微有所延伸，而高一一下子就接觸并需要掌握兩種時態(tài)。所以，有些同學(xué)很不能適應(yīng)，初中學(xué)得輕松，還考好成績，怎么到了高一不行了，這樣的現(xiàn)象很普遍，說到底，還是好的習(xí)慣沒有養(yǎng)成，不夠勤奮。在這里，我要點(diǎn)名表揚(yáng)幾位學(xué)生，她們學(xué)習(xí)態(tài)度端正，上課認(rèn)真，書寫工整，正因?yàn)槿绱�，無論什么考試都能取得很好的成績。另外我還要提幾個同學(xué)，他們的潛力很大，但因?yàn)檫�不夠認(rèn)真刻苦，所以沒有發(fā)揮出自己最好的水平，希望家長能夠配合老師，把孩子的成績抓上去。我堅(jiān)信：如果您的孩子在您的支持和我的指導(dǎo)下能夠及時完成我布置的任務(wù)，那么一定能學(xué)好。要教導(dǎo)您的孩子一開始就要有吃苦耐勞的精神。堅(jiān)持嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)膶W(xué)習(xí)作風(fēng)，成績馬上就會見效。

　　目前的形勢決定了英語學(xué)科的重要性，請各位家長務(wù)必重視英語這一學(xué)科，你們思想上重視了，無形中也給孩子以熏陶，重視與不重視肯定是完全不同的，在英語課堂上，大部分學(xué)生都能很活躍的回答老師提出的問題，積極跟著老師拼讀單詞，朗讀課文。其實(shí)這也制造了一種假象，學(xué)生認(rèn)為自己常常被老師提問，認(rèn)為自己能夠回答老師的問題，于是認(rèn)為自己的英語學(xué)得很不錯，自我感覺特別好。于是下課后在英語上花的時間就少了。其實(shí)要學(xué)好英語，課上占40%，其余的60%還需要學(xué)生在課后不斷的鞏固，加深記憶。在課上老師更多的是教授新知識，當(dāng)然課上也會有少量的時間鞏固新學(xué)的知識。但是這些時間是公共的時間，而不是每個學(xué)生私有的時間，所以不可能照顧到每個學(xué)生，不可能讓所有學(xué)生都達(dá)到相同的程度。況且每個學(xué)生對新知識得接受能力都是不同的，有的可能當(dāng)堂就已經(jīng)有很深的印象，很難忘記，但這肯定是很少的。大部分學(xué)生都只能是初步接觸了新知識，要真正接受新知識還要學(xué)生在課后多下功夫，不然肯定會和別的同學(xué)拉下差距。

　　那么在課后學(xué)生到底該怎么做才能把其余的60%補(bǔ)回來呢？英語畢竟不是我們自己的語言，大多數(shù)學(xué)生除了英語課其余時間根本就不會想到要說英語，所以，在課后一定要主動抽時間為自己補(bǔ)習(xí)英語。學(xué)好英語，不外乎就是在聽，說，讀，寫這些方面下功夫。

　　首先說一下聽，每個學(xué)生都有和書相配套的磁帶，可是請各位家長檢查一下自己的子女的英語磁帶，有多少學(xué)生的磁帶還是和剛發(fā)的時候一樣的，根本就沒有聽過。不要說另外買什么英語聽力磁帶或者英語學(xué)習(xí)的碟片了，連自己手頭的磁帶都不去聽，光靠上課聽一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)的磁帶，學(xué)生的聽力根本就不能有什么發(fā)展。不會聽就不能說，而說白了，學(xué)了英語就是要說，那不是白學(xué)了么？聽錄音機(jī)跟讀，目的應(yīng)該是兩種，一種同學(xué)是上課沒有完全消化，聽錄音是補(bǔ)充學(xué)習(xí)的過程，另外一種是提高自己的聽力和口語表達(dá)能力，要學(xué)生盡力地去模仿錄音機(jī)里的發(fā)音，從而使自己的聽力和口語都提高一個層次。

　　65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

　　He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 2019, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.

　　When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.

Since Americans liketo treat foreigners "Just like anybody else", newcomers to the U.S. shouldrealize that no insult or personal indignity is intended if they are treated ina less than-deferential manner by waiters in restaurants, clerks in stores andhotels, taxi drivers, and other service personnel.

　　Americans view themselves as highly individualistic in their thoughts andactions. They resist being thought of as representatives of any homogeneousgroup. When they do join groups, they believe they are special. Just a littledifferent from other members of the same group. In the U.S. you will find peoplefreely expressing a variety of opinions anywhere and anytime. Yet, in spite ofthis independence, almost all Americans end up voting for one of their two majorpolitical parties. Individualism leads to privacy, which Americans see asdesirable. The word privacy does not exist in many non-Western languages. If Itdoes, it is likely to have a negative connotation, suggesting loneliness orforced isolation. It is not uncommon for Americans to say, and almost tobelieve: "If I don't have half an hour a day to myself, I go stark-ravingmad!"

　　Americans take credit only for what they accomplish as individuals. Theyget no credit for having been born into a rich family but pride themselves inhaving climbed the ladder of success, to whatever level, all by themselves. Inan English-language dictionary, there are more than 100 composite words thathave the word "self" as a prefix: self-aware. self-confident, self-conscious,self-contented, self-control, self-criticism, self-deception, self-defeating,self-denial. The equivalent of these words cannot be found in most otherlanguages. It is an indicator of how highly Americans regard the self-made manor woman.

　　Many other countries have developed subtle, sometimes highly ritualistic,ways of informing others of unpleasant information. Americans prefer the directapproach. They are likely to be completely honest in delivering their negativeevaluations, and to consider, anything other than the most direct and openapproach to be "dishonest" and "insincere". Anyone in the U.S. who uses anintermediary to deliver the message will also be considered "manipulative" and"untrustworthy". If you come from a country where saving face is important, beassured that Americans are not trying to make you lose face with theirdirectness.
