　　Im only going to talk to you just for a minute or so this evening becauseI have some -- some very sad news for all of you -- Could you lower those signsplease? -- I have some very sad news for all of you and I think sad news for allof our fellow citizens and people who love peace all over the world; and that isthat Martin Luther King was shot and was killed tonight in MemphisTennessee.

　　Martin Luther King dedicated his life to love and to justice between fellowhuman beings. He died in the cause of that effort. In this difficult day in thisdifficult time for the United States its perhaps well to ask what kind of anation we are and what direction we want to move in. For those of you who areblack -- considering the evidence evidently is that there were white people whowere responsible -- you can be filled with bitterness and with hatred and adesire for revenge.

　　We can move in that direction as a country in greater polarization -- blackpeople amongst blacks and white amongst whites filled with hatred toward oneanother. Or we can make an effort as Martin Luther King did to understand and tocomprehend and replace that violence that stain of bloodshed that has spreadacross our land with an effort to understand compassion and love.

　　For those of you who are black and are tempted to fill with -- be filledwith hatred and mistrust of the injustice of such an act against all whitepeople I would only say that I can also feel in my own heart the same kind offeeling. I had a member of my family killed but he was killed by a whiteman.

　　But we have to make an effort in the United States. We have to make aneffort to understand to get beyond or go beyond these rather difficulttimes.

　　Good morning everyone!

　　My name is Jie Lidi. Today, my topic is: “Confidence”. As we all know, the failure is the mother of success. But What I want to say is that success is the child of confidence. Without confidence, things can become negative and uncom#fortable. I remember, during an English class, I wanted to make a sentence using the word "listen".

　　I should have said: "I listen to the Voice of America" but I was too nervous and said "I listen to the Noise of America". Everybody in the class laughed. Since then I wanted to train myself to be confident.

　　Now, confidence makes me brave and courageous. Take this speech for example. I wanted to enter this competition, but I would feel very embarrassed if I made mistakes. Just then, I thought about my dream. My dream is to become a scientist when I grow up.

　　If I am not confident, how can I overcom#e difficulties I face? If I am not confident, how can I succeed in developing myself in the future? I will do it! Today, I am making a speech in public and I feel proud and confident!

　　I am sure, in the future, with confidence, I will go forward-always forward. Confidence will make my dreams com#e true!

　　I am very glad to stand here to give thier a short speech.Today my topic is that the youth are the future of motherland

　　很高興站在這里做這篇短小的演講，我演講的主題是青年是祖國的未來。

　　When preparing for the English speech contest, I simply want to search some articles as the contents of my speech. I read a lot of articles, some from the university professor, some from the famous host, some from the college students, and even from junior high school students. But after reading it, I gave up the idea, I even felt shameful. Today,the topic I want to talk about is a solemn and serious theme full of glory and pride, which is a common aspiration of all our Chinese. Every Chinese has his own dream of China, and of course, there is a dream lingering in my heart only belongs to my own.

　　在準(zhǔn)備英語演講比賽的時候，我本想簡單地從網(wǎng)上搜索一些文章作為我演講的內(nèi)容。我看過很多文章，有著名主持人的、北大教授的、大學(xué)生的，也有初中生的。但是看完之后，我放棄了當(dāng)初的想法，我甚至為當(dāng)初的想法感到有一些羞愧。因為今天我站在這里向大家演講的主題，是一個莊重而嚴(yán)肅的主題;是一個充滿榮耀與自豪的主題;是每一個中華兒女共同期盼的主題。每個人都有屬于他們自己的中國夢，而我，當(dāng)然也有一直縈繞在心懷只屬于我的中國夢。

　　We had learned a lot of knowledge and understood a lot of truth in the book. We had a basic concept to our country at that time. We know that our country is full of sunshine , and we are the future of our country, and our dreams are to be the hope of our motherland.

　　記得剛剛上學(xué)那會兒，我們天真無邪。在課本里，我們學(xué)到了很多很多知識，也明白了很多很多道理，我們對祖國也有了一個最基本的概念。我們知道我們的祖國到處充滿陽光，正在慢慢發(fā)展，而我們，就是祖國未來的花朵，未來的希望。我們夢想將來能夠成為祖國的希望。

　　However,We don't know what time to start,We are grow up,Life became not the same, though we don’t want to admit, it’s the truth that our mind and attitude to our country is changing. Our society became full of deception, indifference, intrigue, pressure, corruption, sinister, and we became irritable and not calm, detest the world and its ways. Our country seems to have become in a disastrous state too. A lot of young students who were nurtured by our motherland became impatient, let alone what are their dreams , what is the china dream ?

　　這，是我們最初的中國夢。最真誠的我們，最真誠的夢。

　　但是，不知道什么時候開始，我們長大了，生活似乎一下子變得和以前不太一樣了，與此同時，雖然我們很不想承認(rèn)但是卻又不得不承認(rèn)的是，我們的思想，我們的為人處世觀，我們對我們祖國的看法，也潛移默化中慢慢開始了轉(zhuǎn)變。我們的社會變得到處充滿欺騙、冷漠、勾心斗角、壓力、腐敗、險惡，我們變得暴躁，不冷靜，憤世嫉俗。我們的國家，似乎也開始變得千瘡百孔。而好多我們親愛的祖國委以重任培養(yǎng)的青年學(xué)生們變得輕浮、急躁，更別提什么夢想，什么中國夢了?

　　I was surprised ,when the old man fell down in the street,We are afraid to help him.I was disappointed ,when someone do good things were reported,many people think he was affectation, I was sad,when I saw many of young people become indifferent ,fraud and lack of ideal.

　　Are we sick, or is our dear motherland sick?

　　我很驚訝，當(dāng)大街上有老人摔倒，我們不敢再去扶起;我很難過，當(dāng)有人做了好事被報道，更多的人說他做作;我很傷心，當(dāng)我看到我們眾多的青年人變得冷漠、市儈、欺詐以及缺乏理想。

　　到底是我們病了，還是我們親愛的祖國病了?

　　I don't want to talk about the construction of our country politics, and also speak impassioned speech on the Diaoyu Island event .I just want to appeal young people,showing the side of youth,good and confidence.We must learn to organize our own thoughts, correct our own concept, and change our direction to the right side in future life. China dream actually lies in our young generation, especially of the intellectuals.

　　Perhaps the strength of a person is small, but when his or her fate is connected with the motherland, he or she will be hero or heroine. Perhaps a dream is tiny, but when it becomes the dream of a country, it becomes inestimable. Perhaps I cannot change our country by my own, but if thousands and thousands of young people struggle for the dream together, our motherland is enough to make the world shock.

　　也許，一個人，是渺小的;但是當(dāng)他和祖國聯(lián)系起來時，就是偉大的。也許，一個夢想，是渺小的，但是當(dāng)它成為祖國的夢想時，就是不可估量的。也許，我無法用自己一個人的力量撬起整個中國，但是我們千千萬萬年輕人一起為祖國的夢想去奮斗時，我們的祖國就足以令世界顫抖、動容。

　　I dream to construct our beauty China with millions of young people who have the same dream. We do it without exaggeration but only with persistence.

　　我夢想和萬千具有相同夢想的年輕人去建設(shè)我們的美麗中國，沒有虛浮，只有執(zhí)著，只有奮斗，只有勇于擔(dān)當(dāng)。這就是我的中國夢!
