The cheongsam is a female dress with distinctive Chinese features and enjoys a growing popularity in the international world of high fashion.
The name "cheongsam," meaning simply "long dress," entered the English vocabulary from the dialect of China's Guangdong Province (Cantonese). In other parts of the country including Beijing, however, it is known as "qipao", which has a history behind it.
When the early Manchu rulers came to China proper, they organized certain people, mainly Manchus, into "banners" (qi) and called them "banner people" (qiren), which then became loosely the name of all Manchus. The Manchu women wore normally a one-piece dress which, likewise, came to be called "qipao" or "banner dress." Although the 1911 Revolution toppled the rule of the Qing (Manchu) Dynasty, the female dress survived the political change and, with later improvements, has become the traditional dress for Chinese women.
Easy to slip on and comfortable to wear, the cheongsam fits well the female Chinese figure. Its neck is high, collar closed, and its sleeves may be either short, medium or full length, depending on season and taste. The dress is buttoned on the right side, with a loose chest, a fitting waist, and slits up from the sides, all of which combine to set off the beauty of the female shape.
The cheongsam is not too complicated to make. Nor does it call for too much material, for there are no accessories like belts, scarves, sashes or frills to go with it.
Another beauty of the cheongsam is that, made of different materials and to varying lengths, they can be worn either on casual or formal occasions. In either case, it creates an impression of simple and quiet charm, elegance and neatness. No wonder it is so much liked by women not only of China but of foreign countries as well.

Hello, everybody, my name is Xue Yinjie. I"m 12 years old. I study at Fenghuang Primary school. I"m in class 1 grade 6. I go to school at 7 o"clock every morning. We read English everyday. There are three lessons in the morning. We have lunch at 11 o"clock. After lunch, we have a rest. The lessons in the afternoon are much more interesting. There are Art lesson, computer studies, Music lesson and Science lesson. We leave school at four.
Everybody, let me show you around my school. My school is not big, but it"s very beautiful. There is a broad road in the center of the school. In the two sides of the road, there are many green trees and beautiful flowers. In the left side of the road, there are two teaching buildings and a meeting Hall. Teachers often get together every Monday afternoon. There are about 24 classrooms in our school, included two computer rooms and an Art room. We like computer studies very much. We can surf the Internet and play computer games, and sometimes we write emails to each other. In front of the teaching building, there is a river. We can see big ships on it, and it always makes noise. Around the rive, there are some flowers and trees. In spring, we can see many butterflies and other insects. We watch they dance in the flowers. They dance so beautifully. In summer, we can catch grasshoppers between the grass. We have great fun there. In the right side of the road ,there is a library and a big playground. There are many kinds of books in the library. After lunch, we often go to the library to find some interesting books. We often read books about animals and interesting stories. We can learn a lot from the books. We do morning exercise everyday, and we like doing exercise. In the free time, we often play football and basketball. Last month, we had a sports meeting, we were all very excided, especially when we saw the teacher"s running race.

As we all know， the next EXPO will be held in Shanghai in 21. We will have thousands of visitors here in our hometown， then how should we show our manners? Of course， all of us prefer to show our good manners， so we should pay attention to our daily customs， China is a traditional country with a long history. The young should show our Chinese culture and good manners to the world .I t is easy to say than to do ，most of us didn’t pay enough attention to “seven don’ts” sometimes they throw rubbish everywhere ，cross the road when the light is red .Although they know these behavirous are not good ，they still do it .I hope everyone of us can take part in this social practice .We should carry ourselves well ，respect our teachers and so on ，try to show our best manners to the world .

二. 孩子們的學(xué)習(xí)狀態(tài)
大部分孩子都能認(rèn)真學(xué)習(xí)，積極參與課堂，每天回家都能按要求聽英語，讀英語，從每一次單元測驗(yàn)到期中學(xué)力競賽的成績反饋來看，平時(shí)要求掌握的知識(shí)，絕大多數(shù)孩子都能很好的掌握，在此也要感謝各位家長的配合與付出，大家每天堅(jiān)持督促孩子在家聽讀英語，幫孩子簽名，在此也表示感謝!特別是這些學(xué)生的作業(yè)，不僅按時(shí)完成，而且書寫工整漂亮。(表揚(yáng)作業(yè)好的同學(xué))
在抽考中我們也發(fā)現(xiàn)一些存在的問題，比如有的孩子在讀英語的時(shí)候有些句子或單詞的發(fā)音不是非常準(zhǔn)確，有些孩子讀的英語乍一聽覺得好像是那么回事，可你仔細(xì)一聽卻發(fā)現(xiàn)他讀得根本不對，出現(xiàn)這種情況有可能是孩子上課沒有認(rèn)真聽講，因?yàn)槊抗?jié)課上老師對那些比較難讀的單詞或句子都會(huì)重點(diǎn)講解，要求孩子們看老師的發(fā)音部位及口型，有些孩子沒有專心聽講的就可能沒有看而只是聽老師或光盤里大概是這么讀的，就自己模仿去讀了，因此當(dāng)家長發(fā)現(xiàn)有這種情況時(shí)請一定要及時(shí)糾正也可以在給孩子簽名時(shí)反饋給我，我會(huì)在第二天及時(shí)幫孩子糾正，當(dāng)然每天學(xué)習(xí)新的內(nèi)容以前我們都會(huì)復(fù)習(xí)昨天學(xué)過的內(nèi)容，有時(shí)我也會(huì)抽一些同學(xué)來背，但由于時(shí)間關(guān)系我不可能每個(gè)人都抽到，有時(shí)我就讓同桌之間互相抽背再把情況反饋給我。另外有一些孩子可能今天學(xué)習(xí)的內(nèi)容很快就學(xué)會(huì)了，而且回家不聽光盤就會(huì)背了，而有些孩子可能在家聽了很多遍卻還是不會(huì)，家長就在想是不是在學(xué)校又沒有聽課啊?其實(shí)這是很正常的，人的記憶力是有差異的，我們?nèi)祟愑杏洃浤芰�，能記住很多東西，但別忘了我們也會(huì)遺忘，我曾經(jīng)看過一篇報(bào)道說人要記住某個(gè)東西要連續(xù)16天都反復(fù)復(fù)習(xí)的話，他的記憶將是最牢固的，因此，請?jiān)谧募议L也和我一起鼓勵(lì)和督促孩子在學(xué)習(xí)英語的時(shí)候要注意記憶規(guī)律，提醒孩子及時(shí)有效地復(fù)習(xí)。
四.我校英語特色
我校從一年級開設(shè)英語課，每周5課時(shí)，二年級開始每周增加一節(jié)外教口語課。一年級選用的是廣東教育出版社出版的《兒童英語》教材，這套教材主要是為了培養(yǎng)孩子們學(xué)習(xí)英語的興趣，每一課都包含5個(gè)內(nèi)容，歌謠(要求會(huì)讀，能背誦)，歌曲(要求會(huì)唱)，故事(要求會(huì)讀，能表演)，對話(要求會(huì)讀，能用句型進(jìn)行問答)，游戲(會(huì)用句型玩游戲)。每一課的前三頁內(nèi)容比較難，后兩頁內(nèi)容相對簡單些，因此，我們在教學(xué)中根據(jù)先易后難的原則，先學(xué)習(xí)游戲和句型，為比較難的內(nèi)容先打好基礎(chǔ)，做好鋪墊，這樣孩子們學(xué)起來會(huì)相對輕松些。從二年級開始我們將采用人教版的PEP英語教材，這套教材是從三年級至六年級，共四套8本教材，我們學(xué)校的特色在于從二年級開始學(xué)PEP三年級起始用的英語教材，三年級用四年級的教材，以此類推，到五年級我們就學(xué)完了小學(xué)的教材，六年級的時(shí)候我們就學(xué)習(xí)劍橋國際英語教材。通過在雙語學(xué)校六年的學(xué)習(xí)，大多數(shù)孩子的英語都非常扎實(shí)，孩子們進(jìn)入初中后英語占有很大的優(yōu)勢，因?yàn)闊o論是中考還是高考英語都是一門很重要也很容易拉分的主科，其實(shí)不僅僅是英語我們的孩子在進(jìn)入中學(xué)后都取得了不錯(cuò)的成績，在中學(xué)的口碑也很好，惠高或者其他重點(diǎn)中學(xué)的老師都反映東湖雙語學(xué)校的學(xué)生懂文明，講禮貌，英語成績特別好，而且學(xué)習(xí)的潛力相當(dāng)大，因?yàn)槲覀儾幌衿渌墓W(xué)校那樣為了成績而給孩子們布置很多的作業(yè)或者做很多的試卷，我們的教育理念是向課堂40分鐘要質(zhì)量，讓孩子們快樂學(xué)習(xí)，健康成長，孩子的習(xí)慣培養(yǎng)，品德教育比學(xué)習(xí)成績更重要!
五：給家長的建議
因此，我給家長提出幾點(diǎn)建議：
1. 對孩子的英語學(xué)習(xí)要有適當(dāng)?shù)囊�，為孩子制定一個(gè)適合自己的英語學(xué)習(xí)目標(biāo)，求其上而取其中，求其中而取其下。至少老師布置的作業(yè)要每天按要求完成，有些孩子每天回家根本就沒有聽讀過英語，家長也很少簽名，這樣孩子的英語就很難學(xué)好的，因?yàn)橛⒄Z是一門外語不像漢語是我們的母語，我們每天生活的環(huán)境都是說的漢語，耳濡目染孩子們自然都會(huì)說了，而我們的周圍缺乏說英語的環(huán)境，如果回家再不聽聽書本上的英語的話那我們的耳朵對英語就沒那么敏感了，到時(shí)考試的時(shí)候考英語聽力就會(huì)很吃虧，因此，督促孩子養(yǎng)成聽英語的習(xí)慣很重要!希望家長能多配合，幫助孩子養(yǎng)成這個(gè)習(xí)慣。
2. 在孩子讀完英語后，在孩子的英語本上簽名。您的簽名就是孩子完成了英語作業(yè)的標(biāo)志，英語每天孩子的英語聽讀作業(yè)都是在家里完成的，孩子聽沒聽，讀沒讀，我都不知道，這就需要家長的監(jiān)督和配合，我們班大部分家長都做得很好，孩子的作業(yè)每天都有簽名，有些是家長偶爾忘記簽名，但過后都會(huì)補(bǔ)上，但也有個(gè)別孩子的英語作業(yè)經(jīng)常沒有簽名，我想這也有我的責(zé)任，因?yàn)榍皟纱渭议L會(huì)都因?yàn)樘α�，我還沒有跟大家聊過，沒講過英語方面的要求，希望我今天講了之后，我們的作業(yè)會(huì)越來越好，孩子們的英語也能越學(xué)越好!
3. 及時(shí)與老師溝通。其實(shí)我很想每天都能跟大家說說孩子們的英語學(xué)習(xí)情況，也很想了解孩子在家里學(xué)習(xí)英語是一種什么狀態(tài)，是很開心，很積極地自己去聽英語，還是要讓家長反復(fù)督促才嘟著嘴滿臉不高興地去聽呢?但我確實(shí)也有點(diǎn)忙，因?yàn)槲規(guī)蓚�(gè)班的英語，同時(shí)又是2班的班主任，有時(shí)候?qū)W校安排的各項(xiàng)活動(dòng)涉及到我們年級組的我也要去協(xié)調(diào)，督促，因此可能每天我能改完作業(yè)，備好課，處理完事情后就沒多少時(shí)間來給大家打電話說說孩子的情況了，一般情況下您沒接到我的電話，就說明孩子基本上在學(xué)校里或者在英語學(xué)習(xí)上都還不錯(cuò)，如果孩子表現(xiàn)特別好或特別不好我會(huì)通過校訊通或者電話告訴大家，如果大家對孩子的英語學(xué)習(xí)還有什么困惑，或者對我們的英語教學(xué)還有什么好的建議或意見也歡迎大家提出來，可以當(dāng)面跟我說，給我打電話，發(fā)信息或者讓劉老師轉(zhuǎn)告都可以，讓我們能更好地改進(jìn)工作，也能使我們的孩子能更好地成長!再次謝謝大家的光臨，也感謝您一直以來對我工作的支持和包容，謝謝!
