　　The other day my aunt paid me a visit. She was overjoyed. “I got the highest mark in the mid-term examination!” she said. Don't be surprised! My aunt is indeed a student; to be exact, a college student at the age of 45.

　　Last year, she put aside her private business and signed up for a one-year, full-time management course in a college. “This was the wisest decision I have ever made,” she said proudly like a teenage girl. 　　“Compared with the late 70s,” she says, “now college students have many doors.” My aunt cannot help but recall her first college experience in 1978 when college doors began to be re-opened after the Cultural Revolution. 　　I was shocked when she first told me how she (had) had no choice in her major and job. Look at us today! So many doors are open to us! I believe there have never been such abundant opportunities for self-development as we have today. And my aunt told me that we should reach our goals by grasping all these opportunities.

　　The first door I see is the opportunity to study different kinds of subjects that interest us. My aunt said she was happy to study management, but she was also happy that she could attend lectures on ancient Chinese poetry and on Shakespearean drama. As for myself, I am an English major, but I may also go to lectures on history. To me, if college education in the past emphasized specialization, now, it emphasizes free and well-rounded development of each individual. So all the fine achievements of human civilization are open to us.

　　The second door is the door to the outside world. Learning goes beyond classrooms and national boundaries. My aunt remembers her previous college days as monotonous and even calls her generation “frogs in a well.” But today, as the world becomes a global village, it is important that our neighbors and we be open-minded to learn with and from each other. I have many fellow international classmates, and I am applying to an exchange program with a university abroad. As for my aunt, she is planning to get an MBA degree in the United Kingdom where her daughter, my cousin, is now doing her master's degree in biochemistry. We are now taking the opportunity to study overseas, and when we come back, we'll put to use what we have learnt abroad.

　　The third door is the door to lifelong learning. As new ideas appear all the time, we always need to acquire new knowledge, regardless of our age. Naturally, my aunt herself is the best example. Many of my aunt's contemporaries say that she is amazingly up-to-date for a middle-aged woman. She simply responds,“Age doesn't matter. What matters is your attitude. You may think it's strange that I am still going to college, but I don't think I'm too old to learn.”Yes, she is right. Since the government removed the age limit for college admissions in 20xx, there are already some untraditional students, sitting with us in the same classrooms. Like these people, my aunt is old but she is very young in spirit. With her incredible energy and determination, she embodies both tradition and modernity.

　　The doors open to us also pose challenges. For instance, we are faced with the challenge of a balanced learning, the challenge of preserving our fine tradition while learning from the West, and the challenge of learning continuously while carrying heavy responsibilities to our work and family. So, each door is a test of our courage, ability and judgment, but with the support of my teachers, parents, friends and my aunt, I believe I can meet the challenge head on. 　　Imagine a car without a steering wheel. Tough to imagine, right? Well, actually that’s the image you see if a person has no faith. Faith helps to guide us in our lives, encourage us to persist, and give directions when we are lost.

　　In this peaceful era, our life paths seem to be already well-planned and determined. What we have to do is to follow. Yes, we may face different sorts of challenges, but at least they are less harsh when compared to those in the past. We do not need to worry about starving to death, or how to earn enough money to buy food for our siblings and sustain our lives.

　　It is like driving from a muddy road into a highway. In the muddy road, path, you would say, as it is formed only by crossing on it many times, flattening the ground to form a smoother area so we can pass. The road is so bumpy and rough, with holes here and there and rocks lying all over. When we drive along this road, we have to be very careful, having a firm grip on the steering wheel, ready for a sudden turn or a large boulder that may appear any second. However, when we drive on a highway, everything becomes different. The road is smooth, straight, and visible. Since there is no unseen obstacle, we may lower our guard, relax a bit, and loosen our grip on the steering wheel. One may even think, if we only have to drive on a smooth straight road like this highway, why would we need a steering wheel?

　　Faith is unique, just as happiness is. We feel happy for different reasons, we believe for different things. How can we know what we believe in? Recall the last time you are discouraged, and you felt you had lost all hopes in your life. What pulled you back into the world? What pushed you to stand up and continue to strive again? That is your faith, your belief. Faith is what makes you feel you can when others say you can’t.

　　召開家長會的目的是為了加強(qiáng)學(xué)校與家庭，老師與家長之間的聯(lián)系，讓我們架起心靈溝通的橋梁，為孩子們的健康成長共商教育大計，讓我們更好的教育您的子女，讓孩子們健康成長。

　　巴蜀中學(xué)最有名的是管理和上的特色，請聽我簡單介紹。

　　一、學(xué)校特色：

　　從學(xué)校層面上講，我校建校不久，能做出理想的成績在于管理，我校實行封閉式管理，不管是周末回家出校，外出買東西出校，還是平常出校，一律憑專用假條出校，走讀生憑走讀證出校。不管是平時午休還是周末，每個年級安排有值班教師清點學(xué)生，要保證該在學(xué)校的一個不差，該在家的一個不少。食堂、小賣部、小吃等地方也有教師值班，以保障學(xué)生就餐安全。

　　老師們在教學(xué)中嚴(yán)格按照集體備課的要求，五統(tǒng)一，即統(tǒng)一資料，統(tǒng)一進(jìn)度，統(tǒng)一課件，統(tǒng)一作業(yè)，統(tǒng)一思路，實現(xiàn)所有的資源共享，以達(dá)到年級的最佳組合。我校的考試很有特色，有周考，月考，半期考，期末考等多種形式，完全是以考代練，學(xué)生已經(jīng)養(yǎng)成了自覺考試，獨立考試的習(xí)慣，因此無人監(jiān)考的'情況下學(xué)生的成績也基本真實。

　　二、班級簡介：

　　我的育人目標(biāo)：先成人后成才。

　　首先我認(rèn)為：學(xué)生是一個人，應(yīng)該讓其成人，所以我特別強(qiáng)調(diào)"做人有德",就是要培養(yǎng)學(xué)生高尚的品格，懂文明，講禮貌，尊老愛幼，做一個有良好道德品質(zhì)的社會公民，做一個有理想有抱負(fù)的孝心孩子，做一個有良好學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣的學(xué)生，總之，培養(yǎng)他將來必須是一個對社會有用的人。

　　其次，我強(qiáng)調(diào)"做事有法"，那就是重視方法指導(dǎo)，教學(xué)生學(xué)會思考，做一個思想的智者，一個會思考的聰明人，引導(dǎo)學(xué)生眼中有事。在生活中，學(xué)習(xí)上，處處鍛煉他們分析問題，思考問題，解決問題的能力，培養(yǎng)他們的綜合素質(zhì)。
