我怎么也不能忘記:在去老山的途中,每當汽車沿盤山公路進人敵人封鎖區(qū)的時候,戰(zhàn)士們總是默默地將我們推向靠山的一面,讓自己的身體迎著暗處敵人的槍口。這就是說一旦有槍彈打來,首先倒下的,是戰(zhàn)士,而不是大學生。 ― 這太危險了!這太不應(yīng)該了!同學們一再懇求:“咱們散開吧,散開點會安全些。”但戰(zhàn)士怎么也不肯。一位同學流著眼淚搖晃著戰(zhàn)士的肩膀說:“難道你們的生命就不寶貴嗎?”戰(zhàn)士平靜地回答:“別這么說,我們的任務(wù)就是保護你們,軍人的使命就是犧牲! ' ' 如果說,軍人的使命就是犧牲的話,那么,我們,當代大學生的使命又是什么呢?

在戰(zhàn)場上,我曾問一位戰(zhàn)士:“為什么在戰(zhàn)斗間隙,還堅持學習? ' ' 他誠懇地說:“我們這些扛槍桿子的,如果不抓緊學點東西,日后退伍回到地方能干什么呢?是的,也許我明天就會犧牲,但只要還有生還的希望,我今天就要學習。”
面對英雄們?nèi)琊囁瓶实貙W習精神,我想了很多。我和他們,同是一個母親的孩子,拼搏在同一個時代的兩個戰(zhàn)場。他們,已將一張張滿分的人生答卷奉獻給母親。正像他們在詩中寫的:“如果我在戰(zhàn)斗中犧牲/我決不為自己的選擇后悔/也不希望哪位姑娘在我的墳前獻上一束玫瑰/只要有和平、安寧的邊睡/我的生命就與這群山萬壑同輝!”
如果說,這就是戰(zhàn)士 ― 我們的同齡人用青春譜寫的英雄曲的話,我們的英雄曲又是什么呢?難道我們后方的青年,就沒有英雄曲嗎?不!請聽吧:“雖然母親如此貧窮/兒女對她的愛毫不含糊/長嘯一聲:振興中華/熾熱的感情發(fā)自靈魂深處。”
南疆血火交迸的戰(zhàn)場,把前方戰(zhàn)士和后方青年的心緊緊地連在了一起。在和戰(zhàn)士告別的時候,一位偵察兵懇求我的同學:“給我寫首詩吧。”那位同學說:“今天來不及了,等我回到天津以后,我一定寫好多好多給你寄來。”那位戰(zhàn)士搖搖頭說:“不,過兩天,我就要到最前線去,我會給你寫信的;但是,你的信,我可能永遠也收不到了。”我的同學再也無法抑制內(nèi)心的激動,抓起筆,在戰(zhàn)士的本子上飛快地寫道:“英雄鐵騎沙場馳,道聲珍重淚眼濕,可盼我輩重聚首,笑看祖國騰飛時。”
青年朋友們,大學生們!雖然我們沒有在戰(zhàn)場流血犧牲的機會,但是,讓我們在建設(shè)祖國的斗爭中,貢獻大些、更大些吧!當我們的同齡人 ― 英雄戰(zhàn)士們從前線凱旋的時候,當我們前線、后方兩路大軍勝利會師的時候,讓我們手挽手、肩并肩,問心無愧地同聲高唱:祖國振興的功勛章啊,有你的一半,也有我的一半!
中國青年,決非幾條英雄好漢,而是,整整一代英雄!
