New century-The east rises and the west sets
as we all know, there are two kinds of main cultures in this world. they are eastern culture and western culture. obviously, western culture is more fashionable today. what we can’t deny about is that western culture has been making great contributions to the improvement of our civilization. as far as i'm concerned, eastern culture will take the lead in the 21st century.
so, why do i say so? firstly, this is the need of the academic study. western culture concerns about analyzing, while eastern culture focus on comprehensive learning. in ancient greece, philosophers made several subjects independent from philosophy. but as the deep-going of the academic learning, scholars find it very important to have subjects integrated.
secondly, eastern culture arises many annoying global problems such as global environmental problems, conflict and war, poverty and death, etc. of course, western culture gives us a colorful life today. but it also gives us these problems. the reason is that western culture stresses conquest. on the contrary, eastern culture cares about peace, including peace among human-beings, peace among countries and peace between humans and nature. we may find solutions from eastern intelligence to the problems which politicians feel thorny about.
so in a word, i'm sure that eastern culture, especially chinese culture, will be widely accepted in the next few years. it is eastern culture that will lead the world in 21st century!
